  1. Considering we’ve just appointed a new managerial team to the women’s team, then yes we’ll continue to have one. What “valuable resources” are you specifically enquiring about? The women’s team have very little to do with the men’s team is what we’ve been told before (certainly from a financial aspect). What’s a “rainbow related project”, if you mean being an LGBT friendly football environment, then yes absolutely we will continue being one I’d imagine.
  2. I think we'll go 3/5 at the back, probably with a bit more a defensive mindset given the attacking quality in abundance Hearts have. Hopefully though we still keep a strong attacking intent ourselves, I don't mind coming out and playing in a friendly, even if it means shipping a few goals. It'll be interesting to see which defenders McCall chooses to go with, and how they deal with Hearts. Agree, but I'd rather he's injured now than potentially mid-season, he should manage to recover in time for the Betfred Cup matches starting.
  3. I think it will go down to who can be the most consistent, I think our attack looks like it’s got goals in it (Falkirk fans possibly feel the same about theirs) but until I see our defence looking solid consecutively in competitive games, I’ll still worry about a leakage of goals. It’s a big season for both clubs, I trust McCall to do what needs to be done, but we’ll obviously see come May. Airdrie I’d still suggest could be dark horses for the league, Cove will be in around Top 4 as well.
  4. Beat them pretty comfortably in our first match against an other team after 6 months out, that’ll do me. Need to do it when it matters now, of course.
  5. Can only play what’s in front of you. Yes it was a weak opposition, but I’d rather have won than lost.
  6. Agreed. I couldn’t really tell how well we played despite watching the stream, simply because of the quality, but watched the highlights and some of the replay on JagZone and we actually looked fairly good for the most part. The third goal was excellent.
  7. Not surprised if he is, McCall has never rated him, and neither has most of the fanbase. Might bring in another striker then if he goes, although likely be a backup, because I reckon we have 3 pretty decent strikers for this level.
  8. 2-3 weeks out, apparently. Penrice and Brownlie had light knocks and will be back training on Monday.
  9. Rudden didn’t play today. That was Andy Rodden (who is listed on the website and today as 26) that played. Rudden has a knock.
  10. You could argue Niang had a pretty good loan spell, of course yet to see if he can bring the performances for Montrose to Thistle, hopefully he can.
  11. There’s no doubt, that money saving is part of the reasons they are, but on this occasion, it could actually turn out to be good for the club, and the individuals obviously.
  12. Sorry, it wouldn't be interesting. I don't think McCall rates Williamson at all. I think foster and Penrice will be full or wingbacks at the beginning of the season unless someone is brought in who can dislodge Penrice, we need cover there anyway. Disagree, if it’s a 3-5-2 @Highlandmagyar 2nd Tier is right, it’s likely it could be Foster and Williamson, due to the fact, Williamson is better going forward than he is defensively, it suits him. Penrice is not particularly good going forward. There is no evidence to suggest McCall doesn’t rate Williamson, especially at a wing-back role, Williamson was injured for months remember. We ended the season with Shea Gordon playing Right wing-back, and he was solid but didn’t actually offer much.
  13. We won’t be. If it’s a 3-5-2, it’ll be wing-backs, acting as wingers, not defenders. I’m not a 3-5-2 fan but it’s more often than not, an attacking formation than it is a defensive one. It’d be interesting to see what he’d do at the left hand side, because Penrice hasn’t got the attacking qualities for a wing-back, in my view, and Lyons may not have the defensive qualities to play it fully either.
  14. If its a 3-5-2, it’ll be far more likely Murray is the one through the middle, as Lyons is mainly a winger. I think it will be a 3-5-2 only thing making me think it won’t be is possibly Lyons (as he doesn’t fit into it). Got more than enough CBs if it’s just a back 4 we’re going with.
  15. Yes - the day expectations aren’t high, is the day the club ceases to exist. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing. Yes, expectations are high, (The same at Falkirk I’d imagine) but that doesn’t mean we’ll win anything. We can be hopeful though.
  16. Dykes scored a penalty for Livingston, only the other week. McGinn, McGregor or Armstrong, would probably also be in with a shout if we get one, but highly unlikely we will.
  17. There’s a lesson to be learnt about stats there. Dykes does merit a call up, watch his performances against many sides in the Scottish League.
  18. Lyons too, he had about 10 goals from a wide position in this league last season.
