  1. Agree, except the 2 matches under Big Eck, Forrest has been hopeless in a Scotland jersey, and nowhere near the player he is for Celtic. He also doesn’t fit the current set up at all, he’s not going to play RWB, because in these Euro games we need someone with a better defensive capability than him, and Christie and Fraser are superior to him in the No.10 role. However, I’d absolutely have him in the squad, because there is a chance he could come off the bench and create something from nothing.
  2. Palmer would’ve started Serbia game for me, as I thought he was a superior player to O’Donnell, however O’Donnell has earned the jersey, and played far better than Palmer did against Slovakia, in my opinion, so he should come back in.
  3. Fletcher would actuality suit being back up to Dykes in that system far more than McBurnie, but then again, Fletcher “turned his back on the country” by claiming injury and then playing, and then asking not to be picked, at a time when we had a bit of a striker crisis. Scott Brown wouldn’t fit into our system either, the 2 man midfield of Jack and McGregor, with McGinn slightly ahead, requires legs and good mobility, all 3 have that, Brown these days, does not. Not to mention the fact, all 3 of those players are superior in footballing ability to him, yes he’s a good leader - but no chance he should get brought back now. Allan McGregor is a terrific goalkeeper, was brilliant for Scotland and still very good for Rangers over past few years, however, is he not close to retirement from football all together? Don’t see Clarke wanting to bring him back if Marshall and Gordon are fit, or him wanting to come back and play 2nd or 3rd fiddle.
  4. I sort of agree with this actually. Gordon, even at his age now, is still the keeper I’d be most confident with but, I could understand frustration with McLaughlin as he has played a fair amount for Rangers this season. Reckon Marshall will be back in goals for Wednesday.
  5. He wasn’t getting in the squad recently due to the fact he hadn’t been playing, that’s changed now, pretty sure it was reported he had a hand injury for quite a while too. He’s a fine back up to Marshall, and Celtic patching him for Scott Bain is their issue, I think we can all confidently say Bain has never been and won’t be near CG’s level. Marshall’s a hero to us all now and rightly so, after his brilliant performances recently, but Gordon’s one of the best ever to wear the jersey still.
  6. Fletcher only has himself to blame unfortunately
  7. I totally agree with that, I was more emphasising the point, that might go against him getting back into the set up. If he’s playing well enough, and there’s a space for him, I’d happily see him in the squad, many others would disagree though because he plays in Championship.
  8. Agree, Naismith is probably still a pretty effective option, and yet he’s in the second tier of Scottish Football. Hopefully, Shankland hits the form with Dundee United, Paterson and McBurnie just never look like scoring goals (except the one of McBurnie’s that unluckily hit the bar in a recent match).
  9. Excellent player, scored a sensational goal vs Poland, but No. Even if we wanted to bring him back, there’s no chance, he doesn’t want to be part of the team anymore, going back to that time he said he was injured and then played for Sheffield Wednesday. At a time, when we were seriously struggling up front as well. I like him a lot as a player, but Clarke won’t do it, and Fletcher won’t do it.
  10. If Marshall gets injured, so long as he keeps up the form, Craig Gordon is a more than able replacement. No retired players - don’t care how good they are, Snoddy, Brown, McGregor, are coming back. I know Strachan welcomed Brown back with open arms last time, but Stevie Clarke seems the complete opposite, no chance he’s letting any previous call-offs come back.
  11. I was never a massive Ryan Jack fan, nothing personal, always thought he was pretty average (although admittedly didn’t see too much of him) but in the last 3/4 matches for the country, he’s been outstanding, a really key part of the team, take him out and we’d definitely notice it. Even though Callum McGregor was also great last night, I’d say in his recent caps Jack has impressed me far more (McGregor an excellent player for Celtic, bit underwhelming for Scotland until yesterday). For anyone to try and claim that either didn’t have a brilliant performance last night is baffling, hopefully both stay fit and play in the Euros.
  12. A good enough squad that, but there's a few where it's difficult to predict, for example, Shankland wasn't even in the squad last night, so I'd imagine that he needs to hit some consistent form for Dundee United (I know, he recently had an injury) to remain a certainty. Steven Naismith was on Sportscene last night, pretty confident that if he could do well this season, he'd be back in the squad soon too.
  13. Can we go back to the discussion about defenders height, because this is a truly horrendous take.
  14. Agree - Dykes is the main man but Griffiths is a great option to make an impact later on. From what I can gather he’s still not fully fit (according to Neil Lennon), but clearly he’s fit enough to play some part, as he’s been doing so for Celtic.
  15. 2 goals in his last 5 games, both goals coming off the bench. Never played any part in their last match.
  16. Well...literally impossible not to be right up for this game after watching this, let’s hope we can actually do it this time!
  17. Because there’s a better option than Considine in defence now. The 3-5-2 should and will remain, but Considine will drop out for either Tierney or Cooper (McTominay and Gallagher are the only 2 I’m certain will start in the back 3). Clarke favours a midfield of McGregor, McGinn and Jack, that’s why he moved McTominay to the back 3, if he was a big fan of him in the middle of the park he’d never have done it. Therefore it’s almost certain that the midfield picks itself (Clarke admitted when he announced his squad that he already had his team picked) McLean, will no doubt start one of the Nations League games. Either Armstrong or Christie will likely slot in a No.10 role off Dykes.
  18. Guy’s in intensive care with a deadly disease, a volunteer around the club for years, so what if we put out a Happy Birthday message to him. It’s just the media guys trying to be considerate (and for all we know, they could’ve been asked to do it) I think it was more to do with the fact Kevin came through the academy, and many around the club would have met his Dad, and there’s no harm in passing on condolences, it’s a very sad thing. Given, the current situation on the park, this is a very strange thing to get annoyed at. Good on the media team, doing a good and classy job, shame the same can’t be said for the players.
  19. Not all leftists would agree with that, and you could say the exact same about some people from the centre.
  20. Was there not reports that said, Chelsea are looking to loan him out in January? Probably another Premier League side, so whether it’s Chelsea or elsewhere he’ll still be developing at a decent level.
  21. You can blame many people for our faults on and off the pitch, but having a go at the club’s (presumably voluntarily) media team for sending a get well soon message to a fan who’s in intensive care in hospital and to Kevin Nisbet‘s dad who sadly passed away, really is over the top. Direct all your frustration at the players/management/board, not at the hard-working media team.
  22. According to our promotions guy, we had over 6,000 tuned in for our last home game (of course we could shoot down that view, but then he’ll know more than any of us), which means we should be able to cope with similar for this match, I imagine a lot of Falkirk fans will be watching.
  23. Tidy player, probably wasn’t physical enough for the Championship, still had a lot of development in him, instead of keeping him we brought in Jamie Barjonas, Palmer was a much better player than him.
