I feel like a lot of fans would be surprised how friendly clubs are, and how much managers discuss their plans with each other too.

Id be stunned if Robson and Naismith dont discuss tactical plans and transfer plans (without naming names, just a profile type thing ("im going to get some powerful wingers in etc.)) with each other over the Summer, for example, if theyre both still in place.

I'd be stunned if they didn't have cosy tactics chats because Naismith and Robbo are besties and as such, just like the two clubs they manage, they have a very close and harmonious relations..

The Gruesomes should fear the new JV...

I never heard about this. Our board spoke to your board about the difficulty in hiring a manager? am I getting that right?

It's part of a new joint venture by the clubs to pool resoures and become a stronger force.

The new entity will be called Aberdeen not of Midlothian

I’ve no time for anyone with this mindset.

I understand this point of view, why would a supporter want his club to lose? However, there's a bigger picture here where, let's say a fluked win like we saw against Hibs in the semi-final might just drag us into deeper trouble in the long-term than defeat tomorrow.

I think it's become blatantly obvious to everyone that Robson doesn't have the imagination to turn this round. His failure to try different formations to suit the opposition, and his persitance to continually deploy his failed tactics and personnel is going to be his downfall.

I was one of those that wanted to give him the job permanently after the run at the end of last season (although not on a two year contract which was just bizarre); however, he just doesn't convince me now that I've watched him operate for a few months that he has leadership qualities along with his repeated failures tactically.

I don't think he's going to see out the season unless someone guides him to try something else. I mean the first thing he needs to do is move Clarkson further up the pitch and give Angus MacDonald a run of matches (although it looks like we'll now lose him this window).

I still want the Dons to win tomorrow; however, that run of matches at the end of January/beginning February is giving me the fear. All it's going to take is for Livingston to pick up some points and us to struggle against the Ugly Sisters and the Edinburgh teams then the sweat will really be on.

But we know from the past, that Cormack doesn't make any managerial moves until around February when the Scottish Cup campaign is over so defeat tomorrow is unlikely to see Robson lose his job unless something goes drastically wrong.

Unfortunately, though the elephant in the room are not the likes of Glass, Goodwin or Robson but that spiv Cormack.

Games in hand sound good, but we see cases like this every year in the English lower/non-leagues with teams sitting with games to make up.

Spoiler alert, they hardly ever win them all. Counting it as points in the bag is unwise.

Frustrated Barry has been banging on about congestion all season, and Aberdeen are simply going to have more of it.

They might pick up rakes of points from these games, but some below-par performances and dropped points would be a more likely outcome.

Nostradamus of Midlothian with his annual festive write off of the Dons chances...I remember last year we were told that we wouldn't be able to compete with his team after they're dismal European campaign ended, this year we're doomed because we have games in hand...

How did that workout last season again?

Just seen all the video footage of flooded roads at Kemnay, Inverurie and Dunecht.......add that to the closures from the south then I am sure there would have been a very small crowd tonight.

    What's your definition of small?

It might've kept Robson in Inverurie, and allowed us to play four at the back (I jest).

Well theres the crux of it, i guess. Youre just a selfish c**t.

Suspect youd be on here crying your eyes out if a game against Rangers at Ibrox went ahead without any Aberdeen fans making it to the game due to road closures too.

Aye, welcome to the world of football fandom where self-righteousness is parked in favour of your team and to hell with the rest...

However, I'll resist being dragged into the cesspit of personal online vitriol thank you.

With regards 'Rangers', unlikely to happen since they died in 2012; however, you keep the mythology going if you like.

    Who does that benefit exactly?

Aberdeen lose an absolute fortune in money and the games played in an empty stadium.

Or you just wait a few weeks and have neither of those issues.

Why not just wait? Whats the rush?

An empty stadium!? There would've been plenty of fans in tonight.

The likelihood is that the rearranged game will be played in worse conditions than tonight.

It benefits Aberdeen, because we are beginning to get a fixture backlog before the split with the winter break and Scottish Cup, it benefits Aberdeen because we get to play against a team with a condemned manager, it benefits Aberdeen because we still have Miovski and we're practically at full strength squad wise which might not be the case at the end of January, it benefits Aberdeen because we're on a good run at the moment.

It probably doesn't benefit Motherwell but I'm an Aberdeen fan and don't care too much about them.

Who is to say winter won't really kick in during February and more games postponed?

    So that's the rush...

  8. 4 minutes ago, RandomGuy. said:

You realise that most roads between Aberdeen and Motherwell are literally closed so nobody can get through dont you?

And you realise that the game is being played in Aberdeen not on the roads between Aberdeen and Motherwell?

If both teams are in the city, and I believe they are, then the game should go ahead.

It's not up to the 'authorities' to decide whether it's safe for the individual to travel. They have to be responsible enough to make that decision for themselves.

Just because old Jock can't shift his tractor through his farm road in New Pistligo because it looks like the Somme doesn't mean the game should be off.

The conditions in Aberdeen are perfect for a game of football.

I’ve said numerous times that I have no real objections to claims that we receive more favourable treatment compared to others.

Well you seem a fair-minded chap @AJFbut even that admission is galling in itself.

All we ask for as paying fans is for the the matches to be refereed fairly and consistently across all teams. What is considered a foul last week, is a foul this week and likewise isn't a foul last week shouldn't be a foul this week.

But there's inherent bias in Scotland, most referees will be either green or blue because both clubs are grotesquely larger than any other team in the league.

So Biereth has initiated the pulling (as evidenced in that video), yet it should be Dessers that gets penalised for it? Even then, people are just willing to ignore the clear handball that lead to the incident.

I’m unwilling to understand faux outrage for an incident that shouldn’t have been a penalty and correctly wasn’t awarded, yes.

What the concern is the remarkable amount of times (i.e. nearly every time) these incidents are viewed in favour of Sevco.

Despite our issues in midfield and up front, our defence is really giving us a good platform to build on. Apparently that’s the third game in a row we haven’t conceded a shot on target.

You always have a good platform to build on in every fixture with the match officials working for your team.

If anyone's interested, there's a brief summary of the last days of Meadowbank Thistle on the One Touch Football forum here -

Interesting post by Mr McLean on OTF.

Now I wonder if @tamthebamwas a member of the Supporters Club or the Brake Club?

Or is he indeed Mr McLean?

Inverness is a completely different situation - that was a merger of two clubs who both approved the move. Clachnacuddin were originally proposed to be part of it but chose not to be involved. Meadowbank were moved against the will of their fanbase to another town.

I wasn't saying the situations were comparable, I said that I disagreed with the formation of ICT because it signalled the demise of Inverness Thistle and Inverness Caley. The clubs may have approved but many fans of these two great old clubs didn't and were lost to football in Scotland.

Meadowbank Thistle themselves had replaced Ferranti Thistle only twenty or so years previously and had been moved from the Ferranti Thistle home. I suppose what goes around comes around in the case of Meadowbank Thistle.

For that reason, I'm not inclined to think that the Livingston/Meadowbank Thistle is on the same level as MK Dons/Wimbledon which I thought was awful, although I'm not entirely comfortable with the Meadowbank situation either.

People make this excuse for Livi a lot, and in the context of nobody in Scotland seeming arsed about it, I do understand people viewing it this way.

But I don't think we can be selective about these things. You either think stealing a club from its community is wrong or that it isn't. Claiming the honours compounds the crime and really is dreadful.

I find Livingston an offensive thing, and I'm not really arsed if other folk don't get that. I think it's weird that so few people object to them. Genuinely don't get it. The whole episode is a stain on our game.

Livi fans hide behind the passing of time and the low profile of Meadowbank to obfuscate, make false comparisons, and try to confuse the issue. It's very clear. They support a club that was stolen from its community against the wishes of its fanbase. Anyone who doesn't think that is shite baffles me.

People get all worked up about clubs in strife etc, but I'd honestly be chuffed to bits if Livi went bust. They are a stolen club who would not be missed. It would be poetic justice.

I must say that I'm inclined to agree with you regarding their origins and the demise of Meadowbank Thistle just as much as I disagree with the formation of 'Inverness Caledonian Thistle'.

Neither has really captured the love of their communities yet.

I’m not sure if I’ve been ground down by watching Barry Robsons Aberdeen, but I’m starting to have hope that shayden morris could be a bit of a player. There, I said it.

He's got a bit of work to do yet to convince everyone; however, I've been banging his drum since the 1-2 reverse at Tynecatle at the end of last season when I thought he looked lively and had potential whilst most were giving him, what I felt, was unfair criticism.

His ball distribution needs to improve though, last night he could've had an assist if he had spotted the pass rather than offering a rather tame shot into the keeper's arms.

    The whole episode......30yrs ago.

    Let that sink in .

I'm from "western" West Lothian, not Livi and i hav LFC running thru my veins,it's like a fuckin drug sunshine.

You looking to point the finger then do so in Bill Hunter's direction.

I'm gonna whack one of tonight thinking about VG obsessing nite after nite about LFC.

As an aside, what happened to the guy that used to turn up with the drum?
