No reconstruction means the Club 42 playoff is still there unchanged. Not ideal but better than nothing. Despite your theatrics on this subject the WoS is going to be much the same as the west region probably with some of the same officials in place after the dust settles with the SJC still there for those that want it. Nothing has been pulled apart where the west is concerned thanks to what Gordon Roney managed to do in keeping all the clubs together.

The major difference will be that Auchinleck Talbot will be expected to move up the pyramid to a level where they lose more than they win if they keep winning league titles and want to be able to play in the senior Scottish Cup. That in turn should kick some life back into more clubs in spectator interest terms again as they start to be competitive for west silverware and the SJC when Talbot and others move up to the LL and beyond.

'Not ideal but better than nothing'

That sums up tens of thousands of post on this whole thing.

A good 90 per cent of scottish football fans and officials and club chairman have no interest in a 'pyramid' that's why it always be a mish mash and absolute clusterfuck stumbling from one disaster to another, one battle for relevance to another.

That is the harsh reality .

    It's Protectionism Central.

Suprised the pyramid ultras don't come here and apologies for the abuse they gave posters who pointed out the dangers. Now some further up the tree want to stop relegation and promotion and entry to the Scottish Cup for two seasons.

Mate you won't here from them.

It's a combination of many things.

These pyramid ultras in lala land don't see what's coming hurtling towards them.

The main culprits in these online forums can't stand junior officials, the concept of junior football as a whole .

They have banged on about it so long with tunnel vision and  besmirched the name of certain individuals and clubs  then expect everyone to play along nicely now that they feel like they have achieved something.

They have converted a handful and dragged along the unconvinced majority with them.

Then you have the spreadsheet, football nerd types and know it all spfl senior fans  who love to draw up permutations  who don't really support a club or junior community all they see is rules.  regulations, names of individuals,  names of teams and officials on a screen or newspaper.

The noose around the pyramids neck has tighten it will continue to tightened and leave the worst of both world's no real pyramid and a fantastic grade of football pulled apart.

Absolutely, nothing wrong with setting a challenging target - which this certainly is! - as long as it's vaguely realistic. (Noting, of course, that our LL place next season isn't yet assured.)

It's great to see talk of ambition. This time two years ago it looked like we were staying junior, seemingly for the sake of a couple of derbies a year and participation in a once great cup competition, now diminished beyond recognition. What a difference!

Instead now want to go into a league against several small poor quality clubs where promotion from it is never guaranteed most likely closed even more by the top 4 leagues post pandemic.

Uncertainty if you'll even be allowed into the sham lowland anyway even in may.

    A ground that isn't yours.

Another club in the town with the same name as well as two official social media accounts unless i'm the boness bubble and know only one.

No meaningful historic national non league cup that captured imagination or proper derby match that whole community got behind in the junior grade.

Aye sounds brilliant so it does.

  4. What a repulsive club now threatening legal action toys well and truly out the pram.

Spent a fortune to win a pub league only to get parked out the scottish cup every year they play anyone half decent.

Spent even more to get handed title in a close leagues.

Heritage out the window to chase a 'dream' of playing the likes of elgin and albion rovers.

No shame in playing up to the rangers connection.

    Meaningless statement after statement.

Thinking the whole world revolves around them and more.

Everything that is wrong with a football club rolled into one.

  5. Cheers mate.

Just stats you won't ever see again i don't think.

I think what's so incredible about the man is in the passionate intense world of west region and junior football in general nobody has ever had a bad word to say about the man from all sides even your local pals at cumnock!

I can imagine even if he had won zero, one trophy or twenty or fifty trophies he'd be exactly the same kind of man.

  6. What will also never be forgotten will be the way a handful of spiteful individuals involved with clubs either directly or indirectly have acted on forums like this attacking the junior game and people involved over and over for years .

What will never be accepted is these people appearing out of nowhere running our historic junior clubs that should be and will be left to those involved previously.

These rifts are here forever and the 'pyramid ' will long term due to the nature of scottish never really come to full fruition.

All in all a truly sad set of affairs an idea that was mean to push scottish football in non league football on has well and truly smashed it to pieces with mistrust and bitterness that will never go away very much mirroring the spfl top four leagues.

These divides will now never heal from an officials and fans point of view.

  7. Saying this as  a lanarkshire / lothian junior football man surely he has to be considered the greatest junior and non league manager of all time.

Not just the trophy haul but the man's demeanour, his down to earth attitude, his ability to use good funds well and unearth gems, his longevity of success the list goes on and on.

Just everything you'd want in a football manager if only our own clubs could have a clone of the man!

If possible can someone confirm  how many trophies has he amassed? and what ones?

How does it compare to william knox?

I've been around the junior game many decades and can think of a few prominent junior managers who have won a fair bit like rab sneddon at pollok, miller at beith, strain srn but this is usually a two or three year four at a push cycle then they go off most never replicating this .

Being such a prominent ayrshire man will the hunger still be in him in the next two or three years when his club are playing sides from all over the country in less intense games non local games. Who knows it will certainly be interesting to find out as he nears what will it be 20 years in charge at atfc 😱

  8. A clutch of recent new management appointments have featured atfc recent players many will have landed top jobs in the juniors.

Years ago it was more about earning the right to manage a top junior club now it seems a good playing name in particular playing for talbot gives you an edge.

Maybe clubs when appointing think some of that winning mentality will rub off at own clubs.

From the ex talbot player viewpoint going into management maybe that confidence from all the playing success aat Talbot gives them belief it will happen for them quickly at management.

Either way or none of those reasons it will be interesting to see how they all do in the coming years.

  9. Big rebuild for beith juniors next season.

John miller obviously had a lot of pulling power in attracting players.

Last 10/15 years they have enjoyed great success that comes with lots of expectations from fans so tough gig for a rookie manager.

Will be interesting to see what transpires at beith .

  10. Always liked the boy slattery , mcnab tall lad at back is decent.

They'd be my pick of the bunch.

Take it the vale have lost a 'diehard' supporter now the lad mcgonigal has left. 😄

Decent player though bit overrated imo.

  11. Must have been hoddit and doditt who came up with the most cringe worthy thing i've ever seen at a football match in the scottish game bringing in wee boys to wave about a banner proclaiming to the country 'history is overrated ' .

Should be nowhere near running or having a say in our junior clubs in this set up.

  12. Who??

Not sure who these people .

Junior supporters and officials in the west of scotland league shouldn't be placing to much on this.

The junior men who know the clubs the supporters will soon be running this show .

Let them get on with it and concentrate on the lowland league who have a crisis of credibility imo and the adult boys club team.

Exactly this. To create further imbalance in an already imbalanced pyramid only limits the possibility of progression from within the area presently covered by the lowland league and its three feeders.

Let's be honest the imbalance is horrendous and is another issue to add to the list that make this a 'pyramid' just a label to make a certain few people , a certain few clubs feel better .

    A joke really.

Attitudes in the spfl are this 'pyramid ' what??

Who cares about that we don't just do what's right for us.

A sham that will forever hold things up and keep the drawbridge all but shut.

I wouldn’t count on that, as I cannot see 42 teams coming out the other side of this.

Then Scottish football will run with less leagues less teams. 42 teams is not in the rule book it can be 40 or 35 and things will be rejigged accordingly.

Scottish clubs are surprisingly resilient wouldn't be surprised if all do make it!

Great work mate the groups you and others have set up in regards to junior football is a breath of fresh air. Every contribution made by every poster is fantastic such a great junior football community out there!

  16. Big blow for them losing most of best players.

Feel a bit for them as they will only ever be used as a stepping stone as a club by players and management somewhere to learn with no pressure from fans etc.

Can see a few those players popping up at juniors in the wosfl or outright junior leagues.

You were trolling. I was merely pointing out in the midst of your tedious journey to moronity there are people dying of a virus that is new and we don't have a vaccine for. That's all.

He's a fruitcake who doesn't even support his club anymore due to his antics getting him into trouble.

You won't have to worry about kelty they won't be near the spfl anytime soon.
