  1. Let's face it the sfa and 42 spfl football league clubs are bizarrely making the sjfa and it's regional associations look competent.

What have the junior clubs let themselves in for getting involved in this circus!

They'd have been far better served flushing out those that needed flushing out years ago in the sjfa and regions and continuing to make what was a great alternative to senior football even better by giving people now  totally disgruntled with the senior game an excellent alternative instead they have got themselves involving in the mother of all shitstorms that will last a generation.

Yeah I'm annoyed and can see for the second time one of my teams being denied via  committee rather than sporting integrity. This time though I think they have a legal case. The rules and over arching governing body are on their side and if they do have proof the brechin chairman acted inappropriately then that's even better. Why shouldn't fans of kelty speak out and take this as far as they can go

    One of your teams?  🤔

Even the kelty fans know the games up and they have nowhere to go on this. It's unfortunate but we live in difficult times and i hope somehow kelty can get over this massive disappointment. They must be well and truly scunnered with the whole system now and wonder why they bother.

Unfortunately mate this is all 95 per cent of the football people in this country care about.

The 'pyramid' registers on very very few people's radar it may seem as though it does on these types of sub forums and if you have follow a handful of social media accounts but in reality nobody really cares about boundary lines, who plays where,  automatic promotion to the spfl .

We could write a book of bullet points as to why the ' pyramid' is already a busted flush i'm afraid.

Erm, no I'm responding to your post and disagreeing so arguing with you.

I wouldnt say so, we didnt get into numbers and what kelty spent or their rivals spent. They have spent compared to some teams in a short space of time to get licensing etc. 3rd in a league they have been promoted into is hardly a disaster.

They are entitled to go (and get their shot)because they have won the respective leagues since leaving the junior leagues and deserve a chance at the  spfl. Which was what was sold to them if they joined the senior set up. They made that jump, they put the effort into meeting the criteria and then won the required competitions so even by sporting merit they should be allowed their shot and are being denied via a committee vote, a vote that is in conflict of the rules and being headed by the chairman of a club who will be impacted/potentially relegated on the park and the same chairman put forward a motion to relegate other teams. Its totally and transparently corrupt.

Yeah the lowland league have been shafted as you say. Which is the crux of the whole debate. Kelty being pretty much part of that. Club 42 is bottom, the clubs voted that the league placing stands. Brechin should be included.

Mate you have well and truly thrown the toys out the pram and clutching at straws here don't blame you kelty hearts have been sold a dud watch here and that along with the horrific financial restrictions felt by all clubs for the rest of the year it's a nightmare scenario for them.

Nothing will happen here despite another statement what is it with scottish football and constant need for statements.

Taking on any sort of legal action would be absolute madness and get them nowhere and cost a fortune for nothing.

  5. Kelty were warned years ago that they were getting involved with an organisation a group of clubs that looked after themselves and that they were merely replacing one glass ceiling for another. They charged ahead under new leadership abandoning the junior heritage built up over decades chucking money to reach the 'promised land'.

Today that ambition has been blocked it will continue to be block especially in the post pandemic years.

The drawbridge has almost been fully shut.

The rest embracing this phoney pyramid will also be dealt a bad hand and will scrambling about underneath the closed shop with no real identity feeling apart of the national game but in reality nothing of the sort.

Today the pyramid was shown up as it will be again and again when it's crunch time and those blinded by the bright lights in this lala lala land will never see the truth and won't care a jot about the carnage and ill feeling they have caused.

As my nearest football club, I will definitely try to make a few games next season. I was wondering, does the club aspire to play in the Scottish Cup? I understand they will need to get floodlights installed, and I appreciate times are tight.

Is there a club shop, by the way?

f**k sake mate it's vale of clyde no real Madrid. Think you need to realise it's lower league non league junior football. Btw no slight on vale of clyde but someone needs to give you a nudge to the reality!

Yes I meant SPFL games. Most Junior teams in the west of Scotland charge £5/6. How do you think their fans would react to having to pay £12/15 in SPFL2.

Mate they won't pay that no chance ffs many will have no clue anything has changed and won't really care some even scoff at paying 3 quid!  that's the reality .

Anyone under 40 will be reluctant to pay over ten quid , many watch senior football in top four leagues if they want to pay more than a tenner they will go watch that no the local team they go watch when it suits them or a pal is playing  again the reality.

The only real negativity is coming from the multiple accounts you are creating each day to post utter shite.

Seems like irony of all irony here.

An account like yours set up with a negative/pathetic/trolling user name can post whatever he likes with no real input because you share the views of the mods on this. You certainly don't like it when opinions are dished back you don't like.

Even when junior supporters engage and try post positive you and your likes will pop up with a cheap shop.

You constantly post rubbish going by the history an obvious alias of a well known individual from falkirk area your initials drs here under 3rd or 4th name is allowed to post whatever he wants obvious trolling but gets away with it because It's ok for those who dislike the juniors to troll.

If someone comes on under 'pyramid pub leagues' user name will this be allowed?

This will probably be removed and show up the people on this for what they are.

you obviously haven't got  a clue what you are talking about

As far as I'm aware no one from Pollok seen it as a big derby in the 80s and 90s

The big one in the early 90s was Pollok v Arthurlie

Petershill was just considered similar to other big Glasgow teams at that time, a big game against a Glasgow side,

    Excuse me??

It's my opinion pollok arthurlie is not a derby game it's not close enough they are big rivals that's it.

A previous poster made the perfect example nottingham forest derby is notts forest but the big rivals are derby just along the road.

The Pollok Petershill thing was massive in those decades whether or not Arthurlie were about or not.

I merely asked the question i didn't state it was a derby game just asking a petershill fan how it was viewed back then from his point of view and you come steaming in through your weight about 😆

  10. Banks o'dee are a very well run junior club always enjoyed my trips to spain park . Can't blame them for not wanting to get properly involved in anything to do with the 'pyramid' up here.

Nah, it's nothing to do with preparing for the future. You're giving too much credit there.  It was a cowardly cop out from having to decide on relegation/promotion between the prem and the championship of last year. Disgrace.

Worrying start to this all then. Gut feeling isn't good on all this so many negative stories coming out hope i'm proved wrong 👍

Newlandsfield is also closer to both New Tinto and McKenna Park than it is to Dunterlie. This Pollok Arthurlie derby thing is a relatively new thing.

I would say the Pollok v Arthurlie rivalry only really got going seriously in the mid to late 1980s when Arthurlie started to regularly challenge for trophies. For example, nobody was billing the 81 Junior Cup final as a derby match.

Pollok don't really have a derby game just three or four rival games imo .

Used to love the titanic battles between pollok and petershill back in the 80s and 90s. Given both junior clubs are from glasgow was this back then billed as a 'derby' game ?

He has the right idea then. I still can't get over this 20 club nonsense!

    Correct mate.

Even if this was a 10 team league next season we'd struggle to finish it given circumstances. Horrible decision and terrible way for the new set up to begin. Guess it's all about preparing for football once a vaccine is found and hoping clubs survive somehow.

Some of my contacts are telling me that you need to pay the referee travelling expenses as well as £45 a match so looking at average of £60 a game just for refs. Clubs are also awaiting confirmation on a 12 team Premier Western Conference. Also heard a few other things have cropped up which are putting some clubs off the idea already. Can one of the U20 Lowland League “sales guys” shed some light on this.

Shocking but not surprising. What a terrible state our youth game is in awe sadly never see it recovering.

  15. Many feel as though they have but need to get on with it. Interesting to read sba views agree with much of it they had an excellent chance of reaching top flight now it's been taken and effects them big time in everyway.

Interesting podcast, I don't think Larry said that much wrong tbh. Yes, he was mistaken about Caledonian Braves, but the point about the conferences in the west could well be true. People claimed before the "bombshell" from the SFA recently that conferences at tier 6 would not be allowed and those claims were rubbished. Would the SFA really just have changed their mind because 2 (current) West Juniors lobbied to them? That sounds quite unlikely to me. We'll probably never know the full story behind it, but I it can't be ruled out that the LL & EOS in fact were warned by the SFA, thought they could push on with conferences as it wouldn't be veto'd and found out the SFA stuck to their views.

I enjoyed it also all the officials contributed well thanks guys!
