  1. Very pleased with Barron. I was surprised to see Clarkson starting on the bench but it appears to be the right decision. Delighted to see both Miovski and Duk score. Disappointed McGarry got injured.
  2. I'm confident we'll finally get our first win of the season on Sunday. I don't usually predict a win but I'm feeling upbeat about our chances after Thursdays performance against Frankfurt.
  3. I'm not surprised at all by the results to date as I fully anticipated a slow start to the season. It's usually the end of September before the players are up to speed and the team has started to gel. As I recall, Duk didn't get going until October/November of last season. Maybe not an excuse but we were also handed a tough set of fixtures to kick off the new campaign. I'm generally quite pleased with the new players who have arrived. Rubezic aside, they've all looked very promising. Regarding Rubezic, he just needs some time out of the limelight to acclimatize himself with the game/culture in Scotland. No denying he's looked suspect at times however I'm not willing to write him off yet. I am disappointed the club didn't manage to replace Ramadani. It's pretty poor given we had 6 weeks to replace him however we have to move on. An update from the club regarding Dadia, Williams and Vinny would be appreciated. Supposedly Robson is very impressed by Williams in training so his presence at the back would be a welcome boost. We're only 4 games in. Lots of football still to be played (34 games left). The Edinburgh sides have also had a dreadful start. The International break has probably come at the right time for us. We've got a good squad of players. As we saw last season, a couple of wins can propel you up the league table.
  4. That was amateur defending from Aberdeen. We have been so poor. Terrible start to the season. The league table doesn't lie.
  5. Its a shame it didn't transpire as I think he'd have been a really good replacement for Ramadani. The meltdown from the St Mirren fans alone would have been worth the fee. Wonder if we actually did lodge a bid for Baccus.
  6. There's a part of me that would rather we just waited until January. Save the wage for a better player and see what's available then. Unfortunately I think we can forget about Baccus as he'll have plenty suitors looking to sign him on a PCA in January.
  7. I wonder if Dadia is injured. If so I think the fans would appreciate an update as to why he hasn't played yet. I'd also like to see Sokler and Gueye start some matches and see what they can do. I think Duk would currently benefit from rotational shifts. He really just needs a goal to get going. I actually thought Thursday was his best performance this season. He won us the penalty. I think Miovski has started the season well but it was evident against St Mirren that he along with the rest of the team were fatigued. Rotations are a must going forward.
  8. I'm delighted we haven't sold either Duk or Miovski this window.
  9. Apparently Scott Burns says we may hear news tomorrow. I'm disappointed we didn't sign a midfield replacement for Ramadani but I thinks it's been a decent window overall.
  10. Does seem excessive. Speculating here but Stewart potentially leaving, Williams and/or MacDonald's injury is worse than first feared. The signing of Gartenmann should allow Devlin to play in his preferred right wing back position.
  11. Stefan Gartenmann on loan. Another defender. https://insidefutbol.com/2023/09/01/aberdeen-have-loan-deal-in-place-for-danish-star/619266/ https://www.transfermarkt.us/stefan-gartenmann/profil/spieler/243770
  12. I was skeptical about us appointing an inexperienced manager after the disastrous back to back tenures of both Glass and Goodwin, however I couldn’t really dispute Robson had earned the position after a remarkable turn of results that led to European group stage football under his guidance. He essentially forced the hand of Cormack and the board. I felt more assured in his appointment given Agnew would be accompanying him. It’s his over reliance in deploying 3-5-2 and certain team selections that has me currently questioning Robson’s tactical aptitude. There doesn’t seem to be a contingency plan when things aren’t working. Morris playing at right wing back doesn’t appear to be effective and yet we have a more favorable alternative in Devlin. He still has credit in the bank from last season’s heroics but it’ll start to dwindle if results don’t improve soon. The board have shown faith in him and unquestionably backed him this summer. It’s over to him to get the best out of what is a good squad of players.
  13. I agree. I think both Jensen and especially McGarry looked good tonight. I just think the tactics are leaving the defence vulnerable. I think going forward we should keep it simple and play 4 at the back.
  14. 100%. 2 wins in 11. We went for the cheap option with Robson. CBA with the Hibs match this weekend.
