  1. I checked Wikipedia. It was completed in 2011. I was way out.
  2. Aye, could be. I never considered over-reliance on satnav cos I'm so old-fashioned. I look at a map before I leave, and read the signs on route. I still get lost though.
  3. I think the M74 was completed around 2006 maybe? Before then you had to go over the Kingston Bridge or on local roads. It was great when it opened. People didn't seem to know about it and you felt like you had your own personal motorway. For a few months anyway.
  4. The signage is fine. It's a relatively new road, so well up to scratch. And i am prepared for it now, cos it happens so often Even if you make an erse of it and take the wrong exit, you can just rejoin about 2 minutes later at the next junction, so I assume it's due to people being distracted by phones, chat etc.
  5. I never paid any attention to the Gretna "fairytale" at the time. But I know that this guy is unpopular. Apart from the ridiculous cup final Harry Lauder impersonation, what did he to to piss so many people off?
  6. Fair dos. I was thinking of the new Spurs stadium really. I've been to a match there and the "home" end behind the goals is impressive, close to 20k capacity maybe? Anyway, just a thought.
  7. Home recording. Play all the instruments myself. Kinda like Prince used to do, but without the talent, charisma or celebrity female "company".
  8. I work in an industry with regular d&a testing, and instant dismissal for a positive test, so not an option anyway. And I dont know anyone who takes drug (nearly, does medicinal cannabis count?). Also never seen anyone take them, apart from a famous TV personality who popped into the gents bog in a pub to powder his nose, as it were. Consequently I just assume all happy, shiny-faced media people are drug-crazed dafties
  9. Bumping this because it's an interesting thread. If we had lost to Serbia, we'd have been using Douglas Park for home games . Fortunately it's all good. On a serious note, the focus on car parking is a bit misplaced I think. Train or metro links are more important when you look at big stadia across Europe. Also, people like to have a drink (almost compulsory to get me through a Scotland game). If asked to predict what will happen rather than what I'd like, they'll knock down the stands behind the goals and replace with more modern facilities, closer to the pitch. Leaves loads of room behind for fan zones etc. Scotland will need to qualify for WC22 to have any hope of this happening. And the one after.
  10. Blackford is ok if he keeps it concise. Nice reference to the Baroness as well.
  11. Personally, I'll miss the international lucky bag of journeymen players that Accies entertain us with every August. Some have even turned out to be quite good. And it's nice to see the bewildered look on the faces of their families when they pop over to watch them from Greece/Portugal/Spain/Stoke Newington etc.
  12. Interesting thread on Accies World today about the convoluted ownership arrangements of the club. Couldn't quite follow it all, but, if true, it would appear to be slightly "murky". As for tin pot, last season was the first time I was able to buy a season ticket with a card instead of cash. As a Nigerian Prince myself, I find digital transactions much more agreeable.
  13. The optimistic hope that people, especially pundits, will eventually see the error and change tack is doomed They're going to double down and look for someone else to blame. Parallels with the Iraq War. The show will move on, ordinary people will be left to deal with the mess, a tiny group will make a load of cash and none of the high-profile public cheerleaders will ever admit they were wrong. Closest we will get will be "Brexit wad a great idea, poorly executed". Hopefully it hastens the end of the current UK.
  14. Great story Mine ended up good too. Met another lassie who I liked much better. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck with the same team though
  15. Mark Reid? Celtic had a lot of full backs that the fans weren't keen on as I recall. With the exception of Danny McGrain obviously who went on to better things at Accies.
  16. Yes, great display by Covid there. Shouldn't get carried away, Accies are capable of doing the same or worse than St Mirren and Killie.
  17. It takes a lot to wind me up. I guess Compulsory Christmas Jumper Day just gets to me, man. I'm fine now....happy place, happy place* * not Douglas Park
  18. Reports tonight that the French hardline isn't meeting with approval from Germany, italy and Denmark. How beautiful ironic if the original Brexiteer plan to divide "the Enemy" had finally happened, but so late in the day that it actually made things worse for them?
  19. I thought it was J. Edgar Hoover. Famous American paranoiac and transvestite. But, most embarrassing of all....big Rangers man.
  20. Total nonsense. When did this pish start anyway? Seem to remember a few personality vacuums wearing them at a Christmas night out a few years ago. It caught on in an "ironic" way. Now its becoming fucking compulsory! No sooner is the poppy off the jacket but they're all wearing fucking Rudolf or snowflakes on a £4 bit of Primark fashion landfill.
  21. John Nelms at Dundee was paying attention
  22. See also Spock from Star Trek: Leeeoonaaaard Nimoy. Most illogical, Captain.
  23. I've seen this. People buy scratchcards and get the lassie behind the counter to scratch it for them. Could this aspect of customer service be extended? Me: Ah, good morning. I will have a packet of M&Ms and this here copy of Mojo, the monthly magazine for the ageing music snob. Could you oblige by reading out the career retrospective of Leonard Cohen, starting on page 23 please? I cant be bothered and I'm sure the people in the queue behind me wont mind.
