The Celtic All Seasons thread
AJF replied to Greenlantern's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Aye, probably not the wisest choice she has made! Although, if she is with him, then I don’t think her decision making skills are all that great anyway. I seen it mentioned that he was out of shape but surely that’s what pre season matches are there for, to get players into shape? I just assumed there was something more to it as it doesn’t seem logical. -

Haha, I’m glad to see a closed doors friendly match has caught the attention of the Celtic support. -
Scottish Premiership Strips 20/21

Some better pictures of the Rangers home kit from our friendly against Hamilton and the new GK top. I was a little underwhelmed at first but seeing the kit on the players it is growing on me. I quite like the red and white stripe above the players name too. -

What’s the script with Griffiths being left out of Celtic’s pre-season squad? Falling out with Lennon? -
Follow Follow Rangers. Season 2023/24
AJF replied to The_Kincardine's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
While I appreciate your comment was probably made with tongue firmly in cheek, so far this summer, 7 first team players have left while we have only brought in McLaughlin and Bassey. If I was being pedantic, we’ve also signed Defoe and Hagi permanently but they were already there. -
Will matches without fans make better referees?
AJF replied to Bigaldo's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I’m not convinced the lack of fans will lead to any improvement in referee performance. We are stuck with incompetence and guess work for the foreseeable until something fundamentally changes in how referees are trained/prepared. I don’t know how that can be done, but something has to change. -
Follow Follow Rangers. Season 2023/24

Reports emerging that Rangers are looking to sign Dennis Gyamfi, a young full back, after his contract with Leicester expired. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/dennis-gyamfi-rangers-city-arsenal-4316964.amp?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar&__twitter_impression=true I’d imagine this will provide cover to Tavernier that will allow Nathan Patterson to go out on loan and gain some first team experience. -

I haven’t seen anything mentioned mate so I doubt it. Rangers also give you the option when renewing your season ticket to opt-in to automatically have your ticket activated for home friendlies. I haven’t had an email saying they will be taking payment and activating my ticket so it’s looking unlikely I’m afraid. -

Top effort baiting there. 10/10 for creativity and attention to detail. -

Rangers will face Inter or Getafe if (and it's a big if!) we manage to overturn the 3-1 deficit against Leverkusen. It's also been confirmed that we will take part in a pre-season tournament in France with matches against Lyon and Nice before facing Motherwell and Coventry at Ibrox ahead of the new season starting. -

That is quite something. The Celtic marketing team couldn't have done a better job themselves. -

So, are you able to provide your source that Rangers are paying Partick's fees? Or is it just conspiracy theory waffle that you've gobbled up? -

Slightly off topic, but would you mind telling me how you embedded the tweet in your post please? I tried (and failed) to do it many times on my previous post haha. Sorry, newbie to the forum. -

https://twitter.com/JordanC1107/status/1281509491993980928?s=20 Scottish Government give the go ahead for the season to begin on August 1st and have permitted closed door friendlies. -
Played and Managed Your Club
AJF replied to PauloPerth's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Rangers have had a handful. A few before my time really but some also more recent: Scot Symon Willie Waddell John Greig Graeme Souness Ally McCoist Those are the ones that I know were permanent Managers. If we were to include caretakers then you'd also have the likes of Willie Thornton, Tommy McLean, Stuart McCall and Jimmy Nicholl. -

Haha, yes, I think that may be a slight contributing factor in their thought process -
Yeah, fair point regarding the market. Given the reported offers Aberdeen have previously rejected for the likes of McKenna I just assumed they’d hold out for more.

I don’t think any prominent party in this whole affair has come out smelling of roses if I’m honest. But if you’re suggesting that the SPFL have done a grand job just because you disagree with the views of Rangers/Hearts then I think that’s quite shortsighted. -

Yep, I'm happy to discuss it on the Rangers thread but it may be easier to agree to disagree -
League Reconstruction 20/21 season
AJF replied to Sinner-to-Saint's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
That may be correct - the point I was trying to make though is a donation to Dundee United, Raith and Cove would be further supporting the defence of the SPFL which I just can't see Rangers going for. -
League Reconstruction 20/21 season
AJF replied to Sinner-to-Saint's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I'm not sure it would be solely to spite Dundee United, I think the ongoing concerns Rangers have regarding the SPFL governance would be more prominent in their reasoning. Additionally, I feel the financial position of Rangers would allow them to take that hit. We qualified for the last 16 of the Europa League - a complete bonus that wouldn't have been expected and the prize/gate money will likely more than offset the SPFL prize money. -
What are the Aberdeen fan thoughts on the reported fee? 3m Euros seems a bit low to me. What's his contract situation?

I don't particularly think those clubs have done anything wrong, but many will view this as the SPFL vs Hearts/Partick with the involvement of the others clubs being a consequence of that. If you were to ask clubs to donate to the SPFL's legal costs then I would guess that all clubs who voted against the resolution would refuse and many others would choose not to (through financial or impartiality reasons). Although the majority of clubs voted for the resolution, I expect the majority of them will also have sympathy towards Hearts and Partick.
