  1. I think you could see this coming in the distance a wee bit. McKinnon signed a lot of his trusted old boys who as I remember someone greatly putting it on here at the time as "circling the drain of full-time football" though that wasn't much of a worry in League 2 as even a team of guys on the way down from the Championship were probably going to have enough about them to win League 2. I think most of us could see this coming in League 1 though that you would start to see the faults in some of these players becoming more visible. I am not watching these guys every week so at risk of looking slightly daft if some of them are infact doing the business week in and out, but Tommy Robson, Lee Kilday, Grant Gillespie, Bob McHugh, Mikey Doyle, Louis Longridge etc etc. These guys were the dregs of the Championship. Its not a surprise to me a team comprising of that isn't dominating in League 1. Ellis reminds me a lot of Alan Archibald when he was with us, and he got way more time than he deserved because of his status within the club. Losing lots of late goals, a constant injury list, a dour as f**k personality that doesn't inspire. Someone who probably isn't likely to question authority or cause hassle. You wonder if he was kept on whilst McKinnon was punted because of that as opposed to bringing in someone completely new. Dempster as I've said on here before is a myth and a media darling. Stadium situation is a shambles (is construction actually happening?) and there seems to be heehaw communication at QP. Wasn't there a total shambles with entry to a betfred cup game earlier in the season? And if she had any gumption she'd have already sacked Ellis. 5m quid from Hampden and Haughey's dough and thats your end product.
  2. I've seen managers sacked for less than Laurie Ellis. Clyde have a rubbish team but they do have a wee bit of dig about them. QP are mentally feeble.
  3. The standard of the league overall is pretty poor, but the lower half especially is appalling. Some amount of jobbers thieving a living as "full time ballers" at the minute. Teams like Killie will fair rack up the points against the dung at the bottom end.
  4. A full-time team losing as many late goals as QP do against part-timers is quite alarming. I think a bigger fanbase would be giving Laurie Ellis more of a hard time given those issues and the budget he has.
  5. I still think Kilmarnock will win the league. I expect what's transpired so far with a lot of tight wins and even a few poor results in between to continue especially at home where I think they struggle a bit with the expectations of the fans. The league as a whole is very unspectacular though so I don't see any team having the consistency to get above them. We aren't getting a strong league winner with over 70 points IMO.
  6. Elgin are a guff League 2 team down a fair few players here and they look a cut above Clydebank so far.
  7. Real chance of Accies going down tbh. They're us under Archie but with even less money and that probably equals relegation. Will need some panic ringers in January and to hope the likes of Morton keep stinking the joint out, and even then might just be gutting out in the play offs against some shite like Montrose or Airdrie.
  8. Give it 5 year and Dickson will be out playing for Clyde.
  9. Guys a self serving two faced arsehole who put on several different faces, from "youth development" when it later emerged his shan mob didn't play one single player from the boys club setup instead going for payday ringers from the lower leagues. Then he was playing the personal abuse card on twitter to deflect from the fact he was shite at his job. Cheerio and good riddance but don't think this is the last we will see of him. His pointless sham of a club are on borrowed time at least. With no fans, no ground and no infrastructure to speak of.
  10. I think that's part of it, as well as there being some novelty especially for teams that fit your description who've never played Celtic or Rangers under any guise. There was also a lack of other games in the East today. No Hearts or Hibs game. Spartans and Edinburgh away. Even further afield Livingston and Dunfermline were away. I think today is about the ceiling for a visit from either one of the B teams.
  11. Arbroath have a great chance to make the promotion play-offs. This league is dung.
  12. Big wins? They're pumping hobby teams for fucks sake.
  13. Horsing a bunch of students is sure to elevate these guys to the top of the game.
  14. Having been to Oban, Skye, Ullapool and all points in between Perth and Inverness the last few days the only area I feel could sustain a team in the pyramid out of those is Oban. The rest are too isolated, small, or their population is scattered and its also shinty land. Not to mention they are all miles, absolutely miles from the other teams and secondary population centres to attract a better quality of player from. Even with Oban I feel it would probably just be in the NCL or slumming it in the bottom rung of the West without outside investment.
  15. When it was a decent place to watch a non league as you put it the club was drawing attendances of 30/40 folk, so we are doing just fine without you now cheers.
  16. Someone was telling me we are taking 5 buses up Dundee for the cup game?
  17. St Rochs 2-0 Petershill Petershill player sent off early for a last man and a penalty to St Rochs. Game scrappy thereafter and Peasy not out of it but a late goal sealed it. Lovely strike off the post after beating offside trap. Another good crowd. Circa 400?
  18. Nope none at all. Maybe 15-20 odd from Larkhall on the far side?
  19. St Rochs 3-2 Larkhall Cracking crowd. Could well have exceeded 500.
  20. No allowed to stand up in a pub they're saying this morning and uncertain about what they'll do with clubs still. At the point I'd vote for the tories any day over this mob.
  21. I'd like to report a crime. An international war crime.
