You realise he's saying that to wind up Cosgrove, right?
Or are you actually dense enough to think he's being serious?
He literally said at the time the deal was concluded it was your record fee spent.
It's wild how deep you are into this, why do you care so much?
You’re a grade A tool, mate.
It wasn’t on Off the Ball where Willie made the statement, it was Sportsound, so where does the winding up of Cosgrove come from?

So let’s simplify this
St J pay £400k for Dodds in Jan 94. They then get relegated 5 months later with Dodds scoring something like 5 goals. Does anybody really think ANY club would give St Johnstone double their money, when they’ve just been dumped down a division?
As I say, ask God, who was AFC manager at the time. He says it was £350k or thereabouts

And it was the fee reported at the time with the manager confirming it.
So what was the fee Aberdeen paid if it wasn't £800k?
Ask Willie Miller. He’s said on countless occasions on Sportsound that although the fee was reported as £800k, it was even less than the £400k that the Saintees paid for him.
I wind Cosgrove up about on Twitter regularly. He always bites. And yet he must know the fee was never as reported0 -

“Petty and ill informed” indeed
Correct. Saintees paid Dundee £400k for Dodds. 6 months later, both teams got relegated and yet he believes the Saintees doubled their money when Dodds moved to Aberdeen?
A trope indeed….0 -
Sounds like Cosgrove had just given us “clowns” (his exact words) an open invitation to join the show.
Doesn’t like criticism, Cosgrove. What was the Billy Dodds transfer fee again, mate? Silly sod still thinks the relegated Saintees got £800k for him

I agree totally. Find any praise headed his way very difficult to comprehend.
Nowhere near Yarwood, McGowan or Phil Cornwell

Trotting out the old line about Aberdeen fans being careful what they wish for, regarding Derek McInnes. Classic west coast lazy journalism

There’re at it again today, talking over each other
They invite Jim Duffy onto the program and then don’t let him finish his replies to the questions posed to him.
I predict this will be the last season of OTB. Needs to be replaced by a post match fans phone in

Cosgrove labelling Calvin Ramsay a diver yesterday was a bit naughty; at least prefix the word diver with alleged, mate.
I love to wind him up on Twitter about the Billy Dodds St Johnstone to Aberdeen transfer fee. He’s convinced it was £800k, netting the relegated Perth side a £400k profit. The fee was actually the same £400k fee the Saintees paid Dundee 6 months earlier but he still bangs on about it.
The show is actually better when there are guest presenters, gives it a freshness

Both of whom play roughly the same position as players we already have at the club and two of our young players we have currently out on loan.
Aye, you noticed that too?
How bizzare, so many glaring gaps then we sign two players that play in the same position

I'd presume Blackburn don't want him playing.
Tell them to sod off.
So, at the start of the window, Glass said all outgoing business will be done at the start of Jan, so don’t bother us at the end of the window.
And what has happened?

We won’t get anything like £10m for Ramsay. Transfer fees have never been based solely on a players ability.
What else are they based on?

I think we will be seeing a lot of these headlines over the next month (or until he is sold), unfortunately.
£4m? Seriously?
£7m plus add ons, THEN we talk

I really like Cosgrove, especially to wind him up on Twitter about the Billy Dodds transfer fee from St Johnstone to Aberdeen in 94. Stewart’s convinced its £800k - try half that figure, Stu
But it sounds like there is a power struggle going on between the two of them. Shouting over each other. And Cosgrove has commenced an annoying habit of starting every sentence like Norris Cole on Coronation St - “I, I, I, I, I, I.”
All in all though, still a good show and part of the Saturday staple diet.

Mon lads. If Dave Cormack wants to take Boyle back to Aberdeen, he’ll get him, don’t worry about that. Massive Dandy as well
