Looking forward to getting up early to watch it, only to fall asleep halfway through, yet still need a nap later in the day.

I got a couple of auction bargains last month. A 1Litre Ardbeg Smoketrails (Manzanilla) and a Longrow Peated. Both class and I'd struggle to pick a favourite. Thankfully there seems to be no end of idiots selling Longrow at a £20 loss so I'll be picking up a bottle every other month or so.

I think Jos deserves some credit for getting his son to where he is, there's a lot of romance in the story of how they got there etc. He was an ok driver. Raced through an era where it was mainly there on merit, albeit never going to be a champion. On the same breath... He's absolutely an oddball and some questionable behaviour over the years.

Imagine turning down a £650k settlement for this nonsense. Worst decision since the Norweigans took off Haaland at 1-0 in June

Picked up a Glenallachie 12yo again with the relaunch of their packaging. Subconsciously I always think distillers make sure the relaunch liquid is top drawer. Ive fair enjoyed it so far. Barely touched anything else on the shelf.

I think she's been a good addition to be honest, not your standard british cheerleader.

I would say thats generous. Single malt its name your price territory. Stuff thats gone into a cask 12 year ago hasn't been affected by energy prices of late. For me there's too many distilleries popping up and charging a fortune for very average spirit tarted up in expensive packaging.

Could it be that distillers have been feeling the pinch as a result of their recent ridiculous price increases? I really do worry that the insincere premiumisation will come back and bite them in the arse.

Looking forward to the Brendan Rodgers style gushing over Ferrari by Hamilton. Sky F1 team will all be dressing it up as a shrewd move, where everyone knows deep down he's effectively finished at Ferrari. It'll all end in tears/ignominy

Play around with water and leaving it for 30mins etc. If not come back to it in 6 months and try again. Some of my best drams are halfway down a bottle i wrote off months previously

Was in Glasgow yesterday and picked up a Longrow peated to get me through the cold weather we've got approaching. Have another on the shelf that is much lighter in colour. Love the variation you get.

Talisker storm at £34 and Wild Turkey 101 at £22.50 on amazon are worth a punt for anyone yet to try them.
