  1. You're completely missing the point. If they get to attend the match by sponsoring the ball then fine. No problem. But place them in a separate area away from the home support, because home fans should not have to put up with being sworn at and wound up by Away fans in amongst them. It's nothing to do with "greeting cos we lost", it should never have been allowed to happen.
  2. You would certainly have at the very least expected some kind of basic check to be carried out. ie Are they Home or Away supporters? If they are Away, place them in a separate area of the ground away from the home support. It's just not on, home fans having to put up with getting sworn at, wound up and watching opposition fans celebrate in amongst them. It made it even worse that it was a restricted crowd. You hit the nail on the head though by saying hopefully it is a lesson learned.
  3. Pished, singing Morton songs in a section full of Ayr fans, cheering when Morton scored, shouting at swearing at and winding up all the Ayr fans round about them. Absolute disgrace.
  4. Yeah, it’s a difficult one. I would rather see a more attacking line up as well but the balance needs to be there. We look far more solid with a 4 in midfield than a 3. Most realistic choice would be a 4-1-4-1 with Aero the sitter I imagine, or I suppose you COULD as suggested put him at CB and make it 4-4-1-1 with Moff behind Tomi. Either way I personally wouldn’t want the 4 changed in the middle of Maxwell, Murdy, Chalmers and McKenzie. We don’t have an awful lot of choices for the 10 position just off the striker. Moff can’t play 90 minutes, I don’t like Maxwell there when he’s been asked to do it, he’s far better and more effective out wide. Bradley is obviously gone. It’s a 10 we are missing.
  5. Chalmers has to start. We are so short of options in midfield that at the moment he needs to be in there. When you look at last week’s line up, I agree that I’d be very surprised if it was anything other than Tomi for Moff being the only change. McKenzie’s energy and work rate has been crucial for us the last couple of games.
  6. Us having won 2 games in a row and this game being the proverbial bottom half six pointer makes me nervous, but I’m absolutely buzzing to get to the fitba tomorrow!
  7. Justice done. Ki**ie have been shite. Parking the bus wae 10 minutes to go, got what they deserved and should be leaving empty handed but for that inept wee cretin b*****d Walsh.
  8. It’s definitely a sore one for the club but from my point of view I’m glad because if there was away games during the restrictions, I couldn’t have gone.
  9. Didn't realise you worked at the club man, what department is it you are in? BTW, appreciate the update on how many tickets are left. Any idea what time tomorrow the rest will go LIVE online?
  10. Surely given England's refusal to impose restrictions and the fact that by and large, that has proven to be the correct decision, there's no way she'll extend it beyond the 17th.
  11. Oh wow, cheers for the confirmation. That's a really good sign, folk back buzzing to get in. I'm not a fan of ballots at all. In my mind first come, first served is always the fairest way so well done to those who got a ticket.
  12. I know Ayr had a lot of issues with the false "SOLD OUT" when Arbroath tickets first went on sale on the website, which was quickly fixed but all of yesterday and still today, only the "Cameron's Bar" is showing on the Arbroath ticket page. Did all 500 tickets go on the very first evening on Tuesday then? If so, that's impressive considering the last game was 500 and there were tickets left 3 days later. I know it was Boxing Day, but still.
  13. Kind of where I am, I'm genuinely torn on it. Like I said, Bartley getting it certainly doesn't fill me with dread or anything like some names that have been mentioned, I'm just unsure if an all-out gamble on someone who has never been a manager is wise, given where we are.
  14. I know that they guarantee nothing, I agree. Just unsure taking a punt on someone who has no previous experience AND is at a team who haven't been great for a while either on the eye or results wise, is a chance worth taking given the predicament we are going to be in for the season. That said, I genuinely do have faith in Mathie and believe he will have a far greater chance of getting it right than anyone else at the club.
  15. My instinct when reading that Bartley article is just "Mmm, naw" rather than an outright "No way". Think it may just be far too much of a gamble considering the shit we are currently in. I understand the word "experienced" has almost become a bad word, but surely where we are, we need someone who's been a manager previously, which doesn't necessarily mean we need a dinosaur like Wright or anything. We simply can't afford to get this wrong. Our playing squad is fucking dreadful, and we need someone who can get enough out of them to crawl over the line for 8th or better, and then we can think about a rebuild in the summer. Of course the argument is that a man who has previously been a manager is not a certainty to work any more than one who is a new manager, but we're not in the position of Dundee United who would only miss out on top 6 or Hibs who would not get a European place. We get this wrong, and go down and it could be a long time before we get back up, looking at League 1.
  16. Aye true enough, although wouldn't surprise me if McGinty and Fjortoft start. Salkeld will probably get his token 15-20 minutes as well.
  17. If you're early enough, you can park outside the ground/across from the amusements. Both sides of the road will be full, but families who are parked for amusements leave all the time in the lead up to the game, so you just have to park a bit further back and wait until someone leaves and take the space.
  18. Not looking forward to this game in the slightest. Just don't relish the thought of another brutal display like Partick and Dunfermline, and most likely having to be happy if we can even get a point which I wouldn't put anyone's money on. Still, layers on and Greenock bound for me. Also, I imagine the Morton fans will be watching all the players we took from them and laughing rather than booing.
  19. Know exactly what you mean. Usually there are 1 or 2 players at least that you still really enjoy watching, but the entire team bar 2 or 3 is just pure shite right now. Go to all the games, home and away but it's got to the point where I'm not even looking forward to it on a Saturday because I don't fancy us to beat anyone or for that matter, really even just get a result with any confidence. Not even as if the fitba is decent and we're not getting the results because the product on display is absolutely dire, it's like ice skating uphill the now for Ayr, very tough watching.
