  1. This may be part of it but I suspect it’s also down to the government messaging of the last 15 or so months that if you so much as look at anyone outside your house you’ll kill their family and your own.
  2. Hold on. We’ve had estimates ranging from 4 hours to 7 now. As laughable as it is I can believe 4-5 hours. I attended the shambles that was the Commonwealth games at Hampden. Took well over an hour to walk from the train station to the ground due to the mental queuing system they had going on. Not buying that people will be in the stadium for 7 hours though.
  3. No. People in the fanzones are risking theirs and everyone else’s lives as well. between my football and Scotland rugby season tickets I’m beginning to wonder how many games I’ll be allowed to attend in Scotland this year. Got tickets to a couple of T20s at the Oval at the end of the month. Feel more confident about seeing those games than I am about getting in to any Scottish stadium this year.
  4. Another example in that article of a local area inviting anyone over 18 along to get jagged so they aren’t wasting doses. Are the clowns in charge finally realising there is no reason to be wasting any doses?
  5. In the middle of summer without so much as a bottle of water? I know this isn’t Australia but FFS.
  6. For years I had work email on my phone an ipad. I’d be sending emails all evening in response to the people working on call (I wasn’t on call ever although I did spend an entire Saturday once dialled into some work nonsense from pre-match in the pub and it was still going on when I got home). I deleted the work email account 4 years or so ago. Not sure my boss even noticed. If he did he certainly never commented on it. i had the daft notion it’s a work supplied phone (I’ve never personally owned a mobile phone) so they’re entitled to me having my email on it. As I got older I realised I was the one tying myself to this so took action.
  7. Independent SAGE lunatic on Question Time arguing for suppression, talking about variants and quoting “we just don’t know”
  8. How will they handle the party when we win the euros?
  9. Unforunately yes. Unless furlough is pulled that is exactly what I can see happening.
  10. Not content with criminalising completely normal behaviour, they are now telling people they are potentially murderers for doing things that they are allowed to do. Incredible stuff. At least we know they care though.
  11. Don’t be so fucking stupid… …the virus is cutting about with a mini kukri to be double hard.
  12. Genomic sequencing. Even countries that don’t have the facilities get some of their samples sequenced by the likes of us. As you say in the early days of a variant more samples will appear (percentage wise) in the originating country.
  13. Clownshoes was pushing the same message on tonights news. Rebutted by a paediatrician saying children are not being admitted to hospital with covid. Might have been the same guy in the tweet but i didn’t catch the name.
  14. Because he’s less of a moron than those in the queue behind him for those jobs. Shows the state of politicians in the country when he’s one of the “best”. Exactly the same with Swinney who has doubled down on this pish. Pair of utter idiots.
  15. I see you’re in Berkshire so this won’t apply to you but in Scotland you don’t actually need a solicitor. A licensed conveyancer (that doesn’t have to work for a solicitor) can do the house transaction for you. I believe a single conveyancer can actually be employed for both sides of the transaction. My last house purchase I paid the solicitors fees but they actually employ conveyancers to do the work under “supervision” of a partner (this is when I checked out what a licensed conveyancer was). I guess a conveyancer gets paid a lot less than a solicitor which of course means more money for the partners so a bit of a scam imo. I’d guess there are licensed conveyancers out there that are independent of any solicitor. No idea if there’s a similar option in England.
  16. Did SG not admit this number was incorrect?
  17. This was a good thing imo. A guy I worked with a few years ago took great delight in telling me how he could get houses for “free”. Enough capital for a small deposit (pre the financial crash), let it out and get tax relief on the repayments. Re-mortgage in a year or so to get your original deposit back. The rent covers the repayments and he’s left with an appreciating asset he’s paid nothing for. I knew a few guys that were doing this back in the day that helped drive up prices to the detriment of the housing market.
  18. That’s why he plays for Brighton. He’s also French so not really relevant to tonights game.
  19. Brought wee Stella home today. My Labrador isn’t a fan yet bit she seems to be settling.
  20. He should have ended up in prison, not in the US. He’s a grade A c**t. I wonder how many deaths should be attributed to him, and not just Covid deaths.
  21. By their actions that pretty much sums up what they believe is likely to happen. Have you seen kids booting lumps out of each other in soft plays? Should have an ambulance outside them all.
