I'd assumed there was one in Inverness. Seems daft not to have a large site in the main urban area . ETA. I think Inverness has roughly the same population as Perth. Perth has a large vaccination site that I had to travel to which was just over 20 miles for me. If Perth can support that surely Inverness could have.

I'd guess the population density of the NHS Highland area doesn't lend itself to setting up the mass sites. Each site would have to cover a huge geographic spread and make it far more difficult to travel to compared to other NHS areas.

Wish you could get a hoaching pub down here. Strictly table service, no standing and tables well spaced out. Pretty poor, soulless experience hence heading up to Perth for the weekend. Oh and one of the bar / restaurants has a sign up advising they want addresses as part of T&T due to "large numbers travelling down from Glasgow against current regulations" Utterly unbelievable and quite literally a modern day prejudice akin to the no blacks / Irish of decades gone by. The worst of it is the locals were queuing outside for tables !!! Get yourself over to Edinburgh. Glorious day out. I could recommend some pubs that would make you feel perfectly normal. They will eventually come round with a clipboard to get the name/number of someone in the party so they can tick a box. I’ve booked a pub and restaurant to take Mrs. Back out on Sunday. I don’t mind table service etc. for that. It’s very civilised and feels like being in Europe. f**k that when I’m out with the boys though and we want to go to multiple pubs and get trashed.

The people that haven't been vaccinated are the least vulnerable in society. Waiting until they're jagged will have minimal additional benefit. Mrs Back is in JCVI group 9 and gets her second jag next week so we can't be far off finishing second jags for that cohort. A couple of weeks after that is the absolute tipping point for me when everything should be opened up and that certainly shouldn't be 2 months away. End of June at the absolute latest.

There's a simple reason why that is as well which has been previously mentioned.

SG are only interested in Barnett Consequentials, Westminster Bad, tories and levers. They don't care about anyone unless there is political capital to be made. Boris actually seems to care about giving people their freedom back. Boris doesn't give a flying f**k about giving people their freedoms back. Boris cares about being pressured from the Covid recovery group and Tory donors about how much money businesses are losing. The only way to relieve that pressure is by getting everything open as soon as possible. A consequence of that is people get their freedoms back. If they were making more money keeping the country locked down you could be sure they wouldn't be opening up any time soon. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased he's under this pressure but I'm under no illusion he's acting the way he is because he's thinking about the plebs like us.

If we’re quite happy to let England do our testing why aren’t we accepting the outcomes from Israel and the USA?
