  1. Not sure the decision on who starts against Germany will be decided by club goal-scoring 'form'. That'll be your mistake, it'll be other factors. Isn't Che Adams 'oot eh form' for Scotland anyway? He hasn't scored for Scotland in our last 16 matches (since Armenia in 2022). That's quite a drought, coming up for 2 years. These kind of arguments are the bottom of the barrel.
  2. I wouldn't be totally surprised if he made the squad. He can play full-back, wing-back, centre-back and centre-midfield. Still, he wasn't called up in March so probably lean towards him not being chosen.
  3. He's past it, where's the next emerging talent? give him a crack.
  4. Lyndon Dykes is fine. Does a good job for the team and played an important part in qualification. It's too narrow a viewpoint to just measure his contribution by goals scored. It's the same as measuring a midfielder by the number of passes they make or defenders by the number of tackles. It's too reductive.
  5. Nisbet is named as a sub for Millwall.
  6. Craig Gordon starting today for hertz. Probably with a view to the semi-final. Good for Scotland.
  7. Brentford's last game will be just over 3 weeks before the game against Germany. It's all unknowable's so I don't think it's worth jumping to any conclusions at the moment. If the squad is expanded to 26 I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke still took him even if he misses one or even two of the games. If it's kept at 23 then I think then it's less certain. I don't know what the plans will be with all the players having different season end dates, but perhaps some of the players will join up early like and train at Lesser Hampden. That would allow the Scottish medical team will have a chance to look at the likes of Hickey before the final squad is announced.
  8. Interesting if true. I tested the accounts predictions for the most recent January transfer window. In terms of percentages definitely over 50% of the predictions happened, probably over 60% and maybe as much as 70%. That tells me this guy is getting good information, probably higher than his success rate and is getting into the right areas even if all the deals weren't all completed. I'd say Scotland have probably made some kind of enquiry/contact.
  9. Massive game, can't wait. If Dundee win then you have to tip your hat and say well done to them. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
  10. I always think it reflects well on Clarke that he selected Fergie for Scotland before he left Aberdeen.
  11. fuckin hell. why are you taking this guys word for it as if it's proof?
  12. I like Ralston and wouldn't have any issue with him being selected, probably a bit underrated by the Scotland fanbase. That said, I think unfortunately in the eyes of fans he's benefitting from not playing (for Celtic or Scotland), not making mistakes and therefore the conclusion is he's a better option. I'd be careful of going down that road.
  13. If @Bing.McCrosby is saying you're a breath of fresh air then that's really something. Well done to everyone involved.
  14. I'm sure Nathan Patterson will be on the plane. He's one of the core group and one for the future so club 'form' won't come into it. That's before you consider that Ralston is in a similar position at Celtic (but is on the fringes with Scotland). Patterson's in the bracket that Tierney, McTominay, Gilmour, Hickey, Hanley, Gordon and others have benefitted from. The one that Fraser fell out from. Patterson's performances for Scotland aren't bad enough to stop him being on the plane. In my opinion they haven't been as bad as some are remembering. I think the structure on Patterson's side of the pitch may have suffered as well as a result of tactical/personnel changes (e.g McTominay getting into the box/playing higher up). You can't strengthen one area without weakening another - but that's just an idea at this point and hasn't been researched.
  15. clarke out. he's no giving the young prospect wildcard his shot (conway) or the man in form mcburnie. they need to been played so we can have a wee look at them. we should be moving to my favourite attacking firmation (433) so we need natural wingers. too predictable, too loyal, too stubborn and too fuckin boring. hopefully he bombs at the euros so we can see a different manager and some fresh, new faces in the squad. #shinynewtoy
  16. until then we could send luke mccowan a text. if he's not busy in june then he could maybe help us out.
  17. Eamon brophy's been in good form this season, might be a good option if we need something a bit different.
  18. Danny Armstrong NEEDS to be included in our Euro-2024 squad. He's my wildcard pick. Not a striker, but I'd like to see Luke McCowan get a crack. Been tearing it up at Dundee this season.
  19. Deserves a crack imo. Can't b any worse than christie or mclean. how armstrong still gets picked after selling the jerseys against england in 2017 still baffles me to this day. let us have a look at this young boy.
  20. Clarke needs to make it happen, that's his job. if involves gaffa tape the so be it. he let gordon and andersen slip thru our fingers that's unforgivable. Get those youngsters down to harthill service, bring big Eck - push the boat out, offer sweeteners. get it done.
  21. I thought it was interesting to see how many players Steve Clarke tends to use ahead of a 26-man squad potentially being made available by UEFA for Euro-2024. I have taken the information from the last year back to the Cyprus/Spain double header and also included for Euro-2020. I have a some recollection of Steve Clarke saying one of his learning points from the tournament was to better utilize the squad in the future. I don't have the quote to hand, but shouldn't be hard to find if anyone wants to see it. The October camp is an outlier, but it can be explained by the use of three goalkeepers (Kelly, Clark and Gunn) across the two games. Take that way and it's down to 20. All camps were double headers except Euro2020.
