  1. Whatever issue there was between Ryan Fraser and Steve Clarke was some time ago. My understanding is the situation was left with Fraser having lost any loyalty and had to earn his place back through his club performances. Fraser didn't play any football with Newcastle after Scotland's friendly with Turkey in Nov-22 (his last call-up) and so we can understand why he wasn't selected for the Mar-23 or Jun-23 camps. He subsequently moved to Southampton on loan in Aug-23 and hasn't been called up since. Clarke can't be that upset if he recalled him after the original incident in Nov-2021. The information is there - if you don't want to believe it then that's up to you.
  2. I think we're on the threshold. We can probably get by with what we normally have plus maybe Fraser or more likely Brown if he's fit. I'm not saying that's what should happen, but historically Clarke's Scotland always prefer to just get by with what's in the building. I think shouts for Ryan Gauld and the rest of the identity parade are premature. Jack is still out, Brown is still out so it's assuming those guys prove their fitness. Does the squad size increasing to 26 change anything? It's a up in the air a little. The picture will settle closer to the tournament. No need for panic stations just yet.
  3. McGinn, McLean and Christie are currently fit and available. I understand that McTominay is close to returning from his recent absence from Man Utd, so that's four. I assume you didn't include Kenny McLean in the midfielders who have played the advanced role. He is definitely one that's been used there. Started against France in the Christie role and is alongside Armstrong the most used player when we've been chasing the game. He's maybe the closest replacement for Lewis Ferguson and he's already a squad regular. I know people don't like it, but I think you have to assume Steve Clarke will only bring players into the fold if they improve us, are for the future or if he can't find a solution with the regular bunch. I think one more maybe plus Jack and we'd be covered sufficiently. That could be Fraser or it could just be Jacob Brown, both those shouts are reasonable - Gauld? I'm really not sure.
  4. Must be disappointing for you Sand dancer. Being a Dundee United fan and all that.
  5. Not a problem, I believe James Tavernier has agreed to play for Scotland at Euro-2024
  6. Agreed. It was a very good steal from Furuhashi. I don't see any case for it being a foul.
  7. I would like to also submit Luke McCowan, Blair Spittal, Mark O'Hara and Scott Wright for consideration.
  8. Isn't everyone jumping the gun? Maybe it moves guys like Brown and Jack closer depending on how their individuals injuries are progressing. Maybe Ryan Fraser. Turnbull and Gauld are still a bit away from a call up as far as I can see. Clarke suggested he would need to trim the number of midfielders down anyway from the 9 regular picks.
  9. He's also got Ryan Gauld, Ryan Fraser and SOD's in there with him.
  10. Dykes is in form now he's got his goal. Adams didn't score so his confidence will have suffered, he's out of form one might say. Let's see how Shankland does tomorrow, but as it stands Dykes is showing he wants it more, is the man in form and deserve to start against Germany.
  11. Hearts have let us down on too many occasions for me me to go in with any belief as a neutral. Hope, but no expectation from me.
  12. Doesn't matter. Goalsh. Confidence. Fox in the Box. The man in form. Needs to start against Germany. Let's get this clamor started. Get him capped, tied down - let's see what he can do in the friendlies. Big Daddy Dykes. Goalsh, Goalsh, Goalsh, hungry for goalsh.
  13. Just wait for someone to say that's your baseline. No, that's closer to your maximum than your baseline.
  14. took the words out of my mouth. first class officiating.
  15. Yep, spot on. The foul was on Johnston. No Penalty.
  16. It takes two to tango. You can't hoodwink, coerce or manipulate players into being tied down for a National Team. Yes, fine put your best foot forward and all of that, but at the end of the day it's always the player that makes the choice probably in consultation with their agent and family members - all you can do is ask the question, make your case and accept their answer. Does playing in our underage teams make a difference to that final decision from the player? Not sure, I don't have a fixed view on that - but at the moments I'd lean toward saying no.
  17. Spot on. The wee man loves to give it out - but can't take it. That's poor, isn't it? Worst kind of trolling IMO.
  18. Yes a belated well done from me for Dundee for their efforts on Wednesday night. The subsequent meltdown has been dee-lightful viewing, superb content.
  19. Strange hill for you to die on Sand Dancer. I've given you fair evidence why Ryan Fraser hasn't been included recently even when the intention was to use a back-4 (Nov-23), how we have been successful without Fraser using a back-4 via wide areas with balls into the box while chasing a goal. There's always that question of how Robertson and Tierney fit into all that too and is the cost of that worth it to bring on a guy like Fraser? Zoom out mate and think about what you're saying. Ryan Fraser isn't going to make or break our Euro's, is he now? come on SD - you're zoned in on this one.
  20. He's part Scottish. John Carver needs to get the rusty thumbscrews out and 'make it happen'.
  21. Who's going to say Livramento first?
