  1. But the budget excuse simply does not make any sense given he’s been backed to bring in 18 players and has actively chosen to extend the deals of some of those he inherited.
  2. Have to say I don’t get the narrative about how this is somehow not Mcglynn’s squad. He’s been backed to sign 18 new players (and given a £150k budget increase to do so). You then have Morrison (who has been named player of the season), McCann (who has been one of our best players Imo) and Nesbitt (who he has given a 2 year deal). That then leaves Williamson, McKay, Watson and Mcguffie as players who he’d perhaps rather have punted, but again he has often played these guys in front of his own signings or in some cases, they have not been fit. If that can’t be called McGlynn’s squad, I’m not sure what can given that very few managers get the chance to totally start from scratch.
  3. Believe it or not he has been criticised on here for being too negative about the team
  4. Really not sure where we go as a club from here. Mcglynn has got to go but I suspect the board will try to keep him. Majority of the squad can go too for me but we are unfortunately lumbered with the likes of Nesbitt, McKay and apparently Oliver. I think season ticket sales will take a hit next year, especially given the 25% price increase to some categories. The last 2 seasons have had the attraction of fans being allowed back after covid and a new manager, but we won’t have that next season. Either way there will need to be some communication as “give us your money” won’t cut it.
  5. They will dig their heels in imo and hope the anger dies down in time to sell season tickets.
  6. We’ve sacked too many hopeless managers so let’s keep the current hopeless manager. What could possibly go wrong?
  7. That culture has been in place for a number of years. However, I would say that any previous Falkirk manager on the wrong end of Tuesday night’s disaster would’ve been out the door.
  8. Problem is there is now a culture of low standards and failure around the place. Too many quite happy to accept a fifth season in the third tier and a hammering by Airdrie on the basis it’s an “improvement” on the worst season in the club’s history.
  9. Henderson doesn’t play at centre half though and I personally I would be very concerned with McKay and Donaldson as our main options there next season
  10. Not for me- too many bang average players on inflated wages as it is
  11. I suspect even another humiliation wouldn’t see him going unfortunately. The narrative coming from the board now seems to be all about how much of an improvement there’s been under Mcglynn and preparation for next season.
  12. It’s been a quick conversion from BPM wanting McGlynn out on Tuesday to now arguing why he should be given another season
  13. Looks very clear now that the board are going to keep him on and are starting to put out feelers to that effect
  14. The way I see it he either goes now or in September/October. I’ve seen nothing to suggest that he’ll be able to put together a title winning side next season.
  15. In my view there is absolutely no justification for keeping McGlynn on for next season, taking into account the season as a whole. Yes, there has been improvement on the worst season in the club’s history but that is not sufficient reason to keep him. On the basis of a poor win ratio for the third tier, poor tactical decisions, no hint of a total race and no evidence of being able to make the team turn up in key games, I’d be saying thank you and goodbye.
  16. I hope the board have an emergency meeting planned to discuss a new manager but I have a nasty feeling they’ll try to keep McGlynn on. I’m not convinced season tickets sales would hold up under the combination of a useless manager, a fifth season in league 1 and big price rises.
  17. Bit disingenuous though considering the population of the Falkirk area as a whole is over 150,000
  18. At least we still have Nesbitt for another 2 years
  19. Big decision for the board tonight in my view
  20. In real danger of Airdrie being out of sight here
  21. Interesting to hear Miller and McCracken tried to re-sign O’Hara. Yet another example of their terrible recruitment.
