Much improved performance from us. Having said that, Peterhead look like a lowland league side at best. Williamson outstanding for us, which was good to see as I do think some of the criticism of him has been over the top. We will need to take more of our chances against the better sides as we won’t be gifted that many opportunities. To that end, Alegria won’t do for me. I’d also start Lawal in place of Nesbitt. For me, we don’t need Mcginn and Hetherington in midfield for games like this either.

I get we have injuries but really if the likes of Oliver and Layla aren’t seen as good enough to replace Nesbitt, what was the point of bringing them in? I suspect we will sneak a win today but that will by no means be an indication that the front 3 is good enough.

Tbh Mcglynn has been at the club for 2 months and the only player who’s left is a third choice goalkeeper. I highly doubt we’re all of a sudden going to see lots being punted now, especially when a lot of the players most would agree need to go have started every week. Whether he has tried to move on guys like Nesbitt and Hetherington without success or wants to keep them, I have no idea.

Interestingly apparently Dunne was the reason Mark Kerr and Lee Miller fell out with Hartley. Seemingly they were saying as senior players that he had to be taken out of the firing line, which Hartley didn’t take kindly to.

Really good episode of Falkirk Daft this week. Some much needed brutal honesty about Saturday’s performance and scrutiny of the board as well.

This. It really is bizarre the gymnastics some people are performing to try and defend poor performances. It reminds me of when people were proclaiming that ‘Don Hartley’’s signings would come good on the basis they had sleeve tattoos.

Rightly or wrongly, McCann will not be here at the end of August imo

Not for me- Telfer contributed more than Nesbitt and Hetherington combined. I was all for replacing him with someone more consistent but getting rid of him is becoming more baffling by the week as Nesbitt and co continue to start and stink the place out.

I agree in normal circumstances but Griffiths was paid a far higher wage than we’d normally offer- probably the highest since we were in the premier league. I’d be absolutely astonished if the board did not approve making those resources available.

I have no idea but presumably it’s not cost free. £1 would be too much imo with the state of the first team.

For me you can add to that the money spent on renting a training ground and bringing in youngsters. Both nice to haves but shouldn’t have been priorities with the state of the first team Imo.

It wasn’t a freak result- we are shite. Airdrie weren’t the same team as last season yet managed to stick 4 past us with ease. It wasn’t out of the blue either- we’ve had 1 good performance this season against Hibs and have been poor in the rest.

We were told by the club at the time that many of the previous clear outs were in fact cash neutral as other clubs agreed to take contracted players and their wages were then used to bring in others. I have no idea to what extent Mcglynn has tried to move on some of those under contract. But to have only managed to get rid of our third choice goalkeeper from last season is not good enough and explains why we’re struggling.

Last season’s sixth place finish could turn out to be a high point if those four are allowed to continue in midfield. If we have any intention of doing anything this season, they have to be moved on and replaced with better quality. Who will take them I don’t know but previous managers have managed to offload poor players over the last few years (although they then replaced them with even worse in many cases).

He sounded totally done in to me. That interview could have come from any one of the last few managers.

We actually have worse options upfront this season imo. Kabia was a better player than anything we now have.

Neither of them make any sort of contribution at all to be honest

Clearly Mcglynn and the board have thought/hoped that bringing in some better quality at the back would be enough to pick up some points. But in reality you can’t retain so many players in the starting 11 from a team that’s just finished sixth in league 1 and expect to win games. Nesbitt and do have already cost 2 managers their jobs and they could well do the same to a third imo unless they are moved on.

Difficult to judge in the circumstances. They look better than the alternatives but very raw for me. They seem like decent enough options but not really guys you’d want to be relying on to start every week.

The resources need to be made available to Mcglynn to replace some of the dross or we’re looking at 2 more seasons in league 1. You are not going to win games with Nesbitt, Mcguffie and Hetherington in the starting 11. To me it’s crazy to be spending limited resources on training grounds and bringing in kids when the first team is so short. Oliver and Algeria look nowhere near good enough either.

Coll Donaldson has been dreadful

Frankly we’re going nowhere this season unless a good number of last season’s failures are emptied and replaced by better quality. 5 points behind Dunfermline and Airdrie with only 2 games played is just not good enough if we have any aspirations of promotion. Any game we go behind we are losing because we can’t score goals.

So Declan McManus wasn’t a proven goal scorer at our level?

Hopefully it will turn out to be a master stroke but I would like to have seen more ‘balance’ in the profile of the attacking players we’ve brought in. Clearly some original targets have knocked us back as I don’t imagine our chief scout has been basing his shortlist on agents’ highlights reels. We’ve signed some decent experience in defence but it’s a big risk imo bringing in 3 guys in attacking areas who’ve played very little if any first team football at any level. There is no proven goal scorer and no proven creator at the club and that could well come to haunt us imo.
