  1. Sounds like the same list of excuses as Deans and co used. We know recruitment is difficult- that’s why you need a manager with contacts and able to attract players. Saying “we tried to get loads of players but they wouldn’t come” is no different to Holt’s list of 19 strikers who didn’t sign. The pitch needs replaced but seems to cause no issue for the many teams which manage to beat us at home. Most worrying of all is the idea that they haven’t decided on Rennie’s future or are leaning towards keeping him on. Based on his performance so far, the only discussion wrt Rennie should be when he gets punted.
  2. The statement that he would score a shit load of goals is absolutely wild conjecture, based on absolutely no evidence.
  3. The bod can go with Rennie in October tbh if that’s the decision they make.
  4. I have no doubt that women’s football is developing, but with all due respect Notre Dame ladies college are hardly in the upper echelons of women’s football.
  5. In that’s the case we have even bigger issues than I thought. Why on earth would directors be outsourcing such a key decision to others (including Holt)? I suppose it does allow the blame to be placed on others.
  6. So the patrons (of which every director is a member) had nothing to do with the decision?
  7. But don’t forget he’s saved us from being relegated!
  8. Hopefully this crowd will show the board what will happen next season if they keep Rennie on.
  9. Rennie is the one responsible for making his only midfield signing out of 7 a guy who hasn’t played 90 minutes in 2 years. We could all see in September that the midfield was a huge issue and the new management team have failed to rectify it.
  10. I really don’t think people have to look hard for reasons to rubbish Rennie tbh- our results and performances are doing that for themselves. Jacobs hadn’t played 90 minutes since February 2020 so it was hardly a shock that he wouldn’t be fully fit.
  11. If having a few good games and then doing nothing for 8 months is a reason to keep a player at the club, we’ll be down here for a lot longer yet. We’ve had lists of players over the last few seasons living off reputations. Ability is totally meaningless if a player doesn’t contribute anything.
  12. Whatever the ‘something’ is, it certainly isn’t contributing anything on a football pitch. A player who’s done absolutely nothing for 6 months.
  13. Watterson is part of the ‘zero covid Scotland’ group so I suspect he’d have us in total lockdown if it was up to him.
  14. I think there would be patience if there were any signs at all of improvement. As it is, despite people arguing otherwise, Rennie has a worse record than Sheerin. No one was expecting him to have us challenging Cove for the title but to be unable to beat Clyde and Peterhead after bringing in 7 players (including 1 on a huge wage) is frankly very poor. If lack of patience is the issue, I struggle to see how you can argue for keeping Rennie on when Sheerin and Miller and McCracken were rightly punted with better records.
  15. 100%. Some people seem to be trying to paint a narrative about how Rennie was being expected to have us playing like Barcelona and how this was unrealistic. No one expected him to have us as worldbeaters. I don’t think it’s unreasonable though to expect to be able to beat Peterhead and Clyde (even forgetting the fact that we still can’t compete with the top 4) when we’ve brought in 7 new players in January.
  16. Seemingly it was between Rennie and Rice and Rennie is mates with a board member
  17. Tbh I do think Ian Fergus was a big loss for the club given his pedigree and experience at clubs like Man United. The new ‘interim’ coach’s previous experience seems to have been at Broxburn Athletic. Not sure what progress is being made on appointing a new permanent youth coach mind you.
  18. Dire from us so far. Really quite incredible that the patrons seem to think keeping this clown on is the answer for next season.
  19. Very worrying that the patrons are performing all sorts of gymnastics to try and make out that Rennie is doing a good job. The fact is that despite 7 new players in the door including 1 on a huge sum, there has been no improvement under Rennie. We still can’t compete at all with the teams above us and can’t beat teams like Peterhead and Clyde either. You just wonder what they are thinking.
  20. It definitely seems like that’s the direction the patrons are heading in, which is disappointing. The line Rennie, board and patrons are now promoting about not being able to get the right players in January and the new scout etc would tie in with Rennie being kept on. Just another reason imo why a more balanced board is urgently needed. If all directors are members of one group, there’s no one there to offer a different perspective or challenge to decisions.
  21. I think it’s clear that the board want to keep him on for next season
  22. Thing is he brought in 7 of them including a centre mid who now can’t get in the team
  23. A midfield of Miller and Hetherington against Dumbarton and some people seriously want to keep him on for next season
  24. We still have the same key issues as before the transfer window- a terrible defence and a midfield posted missing. That’s despite signing 3 centre halves and a defensive midfielder. How anyone can say Rennie’s signings have been a success I don’t know.
  25. Another difference last summer was that it was people’s first chance to get back to the stadium after 18 months of not being able to attend games. I think a lot will now decide they’ve seen enough if Rennie stays on.
