The penalty didnt look inside the box on the highlights.

Looked like the player who scored the first goal handled the ball just before he scored, it's difficult to see on the highlights but it looked very much like he did.

I certainly wouldn’t accuse Kelty fans of arrogance. I would say the opposite. Not really sure why you mentioned it.

I mentioned it as you said that predicting big Kelty wins was easy, but I think if Kelty fans were making these predictions on a regular basis then they would be quite rightly seen as being a bit arrogant.

Fair point. I was certainly guilty of a poorly worded post.

I think Kelty has a squad so much better than is needed to win this league, therefore it’s easy to predict comfortable wins. Sometimes the scoreline doesn’t always reflect the dominance. It doesn’t really matter as long as the three point hauls keep coming. Without doubt it will continue for the rest of the season. That I can confidently predict.

There's no doubt that Kelty have the strongest squad in the league, and it is likely that they will win the league, but most of their matches have been tough, and some of these could have gone either way. The two matches against your team are testament to that. I have seen the vast majority of their matches this season and very few have been easy wins, It's why it's not easy to predict large margins of victories, plus it is a bit arrogant to mouth off that your team will win easily, and most people surrounding Kelty Hearts are certainly not that.

Kelty are so much better than everyone else in this league, so it’s quite easy to predict scorelines like that. The only remarkable thing is it doesn’t happen that often.

If scores like that don't happen that often, then how can they be easy to predict? The point that I was making was that a tough game was expected as Stranraer had competed well in the first match at NCP, plus they were on a good run, and also had home advantage yesterday. Not many, if any, Kelty fans would have said beforehand that they expected to win the match 4-0.

Not even the locals it seems...

Tuesday night was much more than a "wet Tuesday night in December", to the extent that the authorities were advising people not to travel. The fact that the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch is evidence of how bad the weather actually was.

Way too much deference being shown to new money wannabes i.m.o.

The pyramid in Scotland is not achieving much as far as building up the game goes.

Who has benefitted so far? The  big city teams and the rich men's playthings.

What's to applaud about throwing a ton of money at a team and seeing it rocket up the leagues through buying success? Okay, twas ever thus and that's football but when after seeing Gretna do it then crash and burn, I can't see much merit in it to be honest.

It's great to see different clubs making it up to the SPFL, freshens up a stale old arrangement that has existed for far too long. It's great too that so many people are more than willing to invest in Scottish football. Gretna? Perhaps, but maybe these clubs, or some of them, are planning to become financially stable ready for the time when the moneymen depart.

In fairness the only reason Gretna were mentioned was an example of how winning the title would possibly feel fairly hollow due to the financial disparity and rightly wouldn't feel organic. Kelty are no where near what Gretna were but are still paying wages to players who wouldn't be there otherwise.

If the model was to bankroll to L1 and then see what happens then it looks like it will be a successful one.

At the time Kelty joined the Seniors they said on several occasions that they wanted to leave the Juniors mainly because of the glass ceiling that existed at that level, and to see where joining the Seniors would take them. I don't know what level, if any, they were aiming for, I only mentioned League 1 as I thought that it was a realistic level to reach given the size of the club. It may be that Kelty just wanted to be an SPFL club, but I don't know that for sure.

  8. Kelty's average attendance so far this season is just under 800. If they progress up to League 1 it's likely that they will have less success, so lower attendances would be expected as a result. Currently there are several sides in League 1 whose average attendances are in the 600's, so if Kelty can attain this then it's possible that they could survive at League 1 without the extra money being put into the club at the moment. It's no secret that no club survives only on gate money, so a lot will depend on income raised through sources other than the money coming through the gate, and Kelty do have a very active and dedicated committee, so I would be confident that club won't become another "Gretna".

I've seen Kelty a couple of times this season and whilst they are a good side I don't think Stenhousemuir shoould be going there with any fear. Much depends on the availability of Barjonas. Austin is recovering from illness and not quite firing fully. Cardle is such an important player for them, Higginbotham too, and I liked Agyemang, even if he is still a bit raw yet.

They're a well drilled side but seem tio have been a bitty off peak form lately. They bludgeoned Buckie rather in the cup and didn't really dominate until the last half hour when better fitness told. Forfar were far too cautious for me last week and didn't have enough of a go at them. Had they done so they could have hurt Kelty who as others have said are missing Barjonas.

Will be very interested to hear how this game has gone in advance of Montrose rocking up a week later in the cup. Kelty get some stick for being a moneybags club but I do like them- always a very positive vibe when you visit their place.

I've seen nearly all of Kelty's matches this season and I don't recognise much in your descriptions above.

Reading through the Stenny supporters’ comments there’s a similar feeling amongst you that we (Loons) had last week. I’m sure that on form Stenhousemuir will give Kelty a good game just as Forfar did last week. We went in hope and with real optimism but came away empty handed. Kelty are champions, sure they’ve not won anything yet but they are unbeaten and the matches where they don’t sweep aside the opposition they have the mentality to grind out results. I could wax lyrical about the Loons being worthy of a daw last week and on midfield play and real scoring chances that’s true but when the going got tough Kelty found that little bit extra to see them over the line that champions elect always have. Good luck Stenny, I hope you prove me wrong as a win would retain my team’s slight glimmer of hope of catching them but I don’t see either happening.

The better team won, overall Kelty deserved to win. It was tight, but the only spell that Kelty stepped up the pace they scored, and they should have had a second. Forfar made it tough though.

Finlayson will be up & down given his age. He was excellent last week and bossed it against us in the challenge cup.

We should have been out of sight but seemed a bit off in the final third. Overall we've got to be delighted with current standings!

Tidser up there with the best I've seen at NCP.

It was a bit frustrating yesterday but it's encouraging that plenty chances are being made against teams who are content to sit in and frustrate Kelty, but a combination of bad luck and slightly off finishing means that a lot of these chances go begging. I think the pitch at NCP being comparitively small goes against the home team at times as it's harder to stretch the away team on the smaller pitch, but that's only my opinion! I agree Tidser has been outstanding this season, he's a pleasure to watch.

I should have said there would be a good Binos support of course but even against City there was a good home support.

A good away support helps, the Albion best in League 2.

Average league attendances will be around the 800 mark, maybe a little above. The averages have been going up season by season since Kelty left Junior football, excluding covid restrictions.

Ross Philp should feel very hard done by, not 100% sure the manager is too keen on him but he never lets the team down and is consistently one of the best performers!!!

The only survivor from Kelty's Junior days, a class player who can play in just about any position. My player of the season from the last campaign.
