MB is making the decision and a dinosaur like MM doesn’t fit the bill. The new manager will be a young guy who fits into the ideology that MB is trying to build
Would tend to agree with this. Established (older) managers who initially convince MB they believe in his vision will inevitably revert to type, want to spend.

According to the Mail we're no longer interested in the Conference League.

I did complain in March when we got a run of something like 4 or 5 Friday matches in a row.
....... but 2 of those were Arbroath home games and only 1 of the others was due to QP.

The Smith brothers who faced off against each other in the Airdrie/ Hamilton playoffs might be worth a punt if they're available....
I believe Hearts have offerred Connor a 2 year extension so may be a loan. Decent player.

Player and coach at a good level all his career. Coach and loans manager at Burnley currently and spent the past season watching youth level football around England. Good contacts like you say.
Wouldn't be against it but it's another rookie manager..
I get that there's a risk but got to be better than the employing one of the usual names who will ultimately revert to type and fail (again).

Squad update now up. No surprises with most of those gone. Kilday and Davidson the only ones you could really debate with and ultimately I’m sad to see Davidson go. Thought he had kicked on a lot this season but it was clear he was never truly favoured at any point. We tried 4 or 5 right back to replace him. He’ll do well wherever he goes. Kilday been around since the league 2 days and by far and away this season was his best. Think injuries were creeping on him at the end of the season again which may have cost him a contract
Longridge being offered another deal is….surprising if not bizarre unless there’s a coaching role involved somewhere
Noticed a few weeks back that when Longridge signed his extension last year it included an option for a further year. Not certain but assume that is sonething he initiates.

Appointing someone who has been sacked for underperforming in essentially the same job. I know it happens constantly in football but will never understand it. My fear is that we'll do something to make this look like a sensible move.

Why is Billy Dodds not on the list?

Can I interest you in Scottish Championship Manager of the Month for April, one William Dodds?
I’ll also pay his train fare from Inverness to Mount Florida.
If you could keep hold of him till we've made an appointment..... please.

Absolutely wonderful how you doing.
Am good, disappointing finish but still got 3rd place. You sounded a bit angry earlier but you need to let it go as it will eat away at you.

Don't get me wrong I think Grant is a fantastic player and is only going to get better, but that would be absolutely fine by me!
^^^This and would be equally happy if we extend his contract. (as long as we don't let his contract run down)

On an unrelated point: good to see Dundee's Premiership campaign preparations get off to a good start today. Every cloud...
The way Bowyer appears to have been treated is appalling as he seemed a decent guy. Am sure he will go on to something better which leaves...............

There’s only a limited few clubs who could stump up the cash to buy him, added to the fact his family have moved back down south after not settling in Scotland. He’ll not sign a long term contract elsewhere in Scotland IMO, he’ll go down to some English League 1 side.
Sounds like he'll be off either way. Clearly if we remain in the same division I will be hoping you squander the fee.

Apparently his wife and young child moved back down to England a couple of months ago. He definitely sees his future back down in England and should be able to move to a League 1 or 2 club pretty easily.
It would have to be one of the top teams in Scotland to sway him away from that type of move imo. You’re probably also limited to what Scottish clubs could actually afford the kind of fee we would want for him. Would have to be one of the OF or an Edinburgh club most likely. Maybe Motherwell if they sell Van Veen but as I said I don’t think they’d be able to sway him from a move down South.
Fair point but his family moving south implies he doesn't see himself at Ayr whatever happens. At least you should be able to agree a decent fee.

unless we get promoted, he won’t be playing in Scotland next year.
Bold statement. Why would he not move to an established Scottish premier club that would be able offer more than Ayr.

Looks like there's a Go Fund Me page set up for it that's raised a few quid, with kick off scheduled for 7pm.
Maybe we will get to play at Lesser this season after all.
Will there be an away allocation?

Queen's Parks Next Permanent Manager

It is but as last season proved, for me, its easy to forget where we were and get caught up in a (probably premature) title chase. Much as I liked OC, his apparent inability to turn a terrible run of results around was a concern. For now am happy to believe in MBs vision and if there was friction between them.......
Am content with the lack of rumours as prefer this being done away from the media (knowing someone else turned it down is not the ideal start for any new manager). Hopefully we can get some stability with this appointment as not sure its easy to build something if you're continually changing key staff.
