Fully understand the Rovers fans enjoying the win but to go after Todd and KRH seems a bit odd? Neither player started as they were being rested for the Arbroath and QP games. Both were out for several months and last week was their first start. Their introduction also led to our only decent spell of the entire match.

Chalmers was dreadful for the first goal. He’s usually pretty dreadful out of possession and recently he’s not been even close to making up for it on the ball. I think Hamilton needs to go back into the middle of the park asap. The midfield is a mess and it’s causing issues at both ends. Mehmet still our best option in goal but that was another concerning performance. Not even sure what you do up front tbh. McCann is probably the best of a poor bunch at the moment.

I think he was trying not to overload Todd and KRH as they’re just back from long-term injury. Would have been insane to try and start them tonight, midweek and vs QP next weekend. Have no complaints about that call tbh. Jakubiak hadn’t shown much before tonight but his performance was a disgrace. Must be completely drained of confidence because he looked like he’d rather have been anywhere else.

He was the best player in L1 by a mile last season and we look nowhere near as solid without him.

We’re doing a little bit better than we did after coming up under AJ but it feels quite similar unfortunately. That was a complete mess tonight though. Players couldn’t even make simple passes, our defence without Bene is soft and the centre of midfield is a mess.

This is a must win game for us. Honestly think McPake will be under a bit of pressure with another home defeat after tonight’s shambles.

Our penalty was never a penalty either tbh so zero complaints about it being missed. We’re atrocious to watch.

Absolutely embarrassing performance and result. We’re really struggling at the moment and it’s painful to watch. Well deserved win for Rovers and good luck in the next round.

We have been absolutely horrific. Moffat only one getting pass marks - Jakubiak’s performance has been so putrid it needs to be seen to be believed.

I mean, obviously everyone would take winning the Scottish Cup over getting promoted but it’s not going to happen. Have noticed Pars are using FB ads to try and promote tickets for this game - not sure if they do this regularly?

Says more about your judgement of players tbh. You’ve got a 23-year-old player with almost 200 first team appearances who is rarely - if ever - injured. He’s a solid defender, he’s quick, he’s got a great engine. His crossing can be erratic at times but I think he’s certainly a player who would improve a lot in a better team. No one is saying he’d be getting snapped up by Man City but could definitely see a bottom half Premiership side looking to bring him in, especially since he’s out of contract.

Yes but “not all the time” does not equal “does not happen for a decade”.

I didn’t say I’d prefer we didn’t play for a decade though, or anything remotely like that. Two league games a season - one at home and one away - would be perfect. As for your last point; this is a local derby. It’s gonna have a bit more spice than most games whether it’s “high stakes” or not.

There’s plenty of guys in the PL down south who almost have to run around the ball because they can’t kick it with their weaker foot. Think he’d be fine on that front.

Except we played each other in the league four weeks ago…and will then meet again in the league fewer than six weeks after Friday’s cup tie…not to mention the two other meetings we had earlier in the season. There is *nothing* exciting about this tie because derbies and rivalries are enhanced by the fact they don’t happen all the time.

Willing to accept I’m wrong on Allen but I really don’t see it. If he was a new signing rather than a youth product then I think he’d be getting a lot more stick.

I think the implication is clearly he doesn’t think Inverness will be relegated but still doesn’t think they’re very good either. I think ICT will be strong contenders for Top 4 myself tbf.

We should be getting bombarded with Scottish Cup content this week but because the top flight clubs aren’t involved, there will again be next to nothing until they remember on Thursday/Friday. Those paid to promote our game are stealing a living.
