  1. Aye, wasn’t he doing great until you sold Armstrong and GMS to Celtic?
  2. I’m assuming Courts/Ashgar would suggest United are really struggling financially and they’ll be hyper cheap options with lot of younger players being used? Or it’s all pish of course.
  3. Both those men you mention have well paid jobs outside of football. If they wanted to progress further in football they wouldn’t stay part-time. I really don’t believe Barry Ferguson is content being a part-time boss for the rest of his career and I’d be shocked if we even considered him as a candidate, never mind offered him the job outright. I heard Klopp applied but we said no. You can’t guarantee I’m wrong~!
  4. Does anyone have a list of our squad under contract for next season? Also, would anyone else happily bring Gary Dicker in now that he’s left Killie?
  5. Doubt this is true but if so that makes absolutely no sense. It’s not like he’s some Scottish football icon or Pars legend that we want to keep sweet. If we are indeed talking to him, it’ll be because he’s a contender. Although the club might see the reaction and claim otherwise right enough. I can guarantee we didn’t offer Barry Ferguson the job.
  6. Aye, he turned down a full time gig in the Championship so he could manage part-time Alloa. ”If true” indeed. FFS.
  7. Hearts - 5/10 Champions before a ball was kicked and never looked liked throwing it away. However, very underwhelming performances and dropped far more points than they should have. Their Scottish Cup exit was one of the worst in the history of Scottish football. Dundee - 7.5/10 Started the season horribly and looked like McPake was finished after spending big and falling flat. Strong end to the season saw them nick 2nd spot, which was crucial. Killie were atrocious in play-off final but Dundee fully deserved their promotion. Adam a class above this level. Rovers - 9/10 Team of the season. Should probably have finished runners up in their first season back at this level and says a lot that they’re left disappointed. Good team, well managed and came closer than anyone expected to a miraculous promotion to the top flight. Pars - 6/10 I predicted Pars would finish 4th. They finished 4th. It should have been better, though. We looked the best of the rest behind Hearts for a while but our away record was horrible. We need improvement in goal and in centre of midfield urgently but with right recruitment on and off the field, we can challenge next season. Will update the rest later as I couldn’t skive off work any longer.
  8. I’m sure he must be a decent coach to get so many gigs but he’s also been a part of a few honking set ups like under Mowbray at Celtic and McLeish at Villa. You say he “kept Alloa up” but not convinced he would have if full 19/20 season had been played, although we’ll never know. Either way, he won 12 out of 55 league games at Alloa and we have some people speculating he might be a shrewd appointment? It’s not like he’s a talented young coach who might quickly develop and improve his methods either.
  9. Steve Clarke was a far more well respected coach and at least had a top half PL finish with West Brom on his CV.
  10. Don’t know why but I was absolutely shocked at how poor Killie were in such an important game. Dundee are not good but won the tie at an absolute canter. Ayr vs Killie will be good in the Champ next season.
  11. This proposal is a total joke and I’m extremely disappointed in the LL for even letting it get to a vote.
  12. Why do people use this “tried to play football” as some defence of Grant? I couldn’t give a f**k if Pars played nice football or not if we won 5 out of 27 games and got scudded into L1 like Alloa did. He’s achieved square root of f**k all as a manager and gets opportunities because he’s a former Celtic captain. I’ll still support the team if he was appointed but it would be thoroughly underwhelming.
  13. Worst thing about Dodds is even when you’re sitting 7th in November and playing shite, you’d have all his media pals shocked and appalled that he’s under pressure.
  14. He’d be a terrible choice but somehow still not the worst option out there. You’d have to fish me out the Forth if we appointed Jim Duffy or Neil McCann for example.
  15. Well done Dundee. Thought Killie would see you off comfortably over two legs but they were horrific and you fully deserve the promotion.
  16. Alloa Athletic were the worst team in the league and only won 5 matches. They were utter bobbins and appointing their manager would be a really poor decision from the Board. Yes, they were part-time but so were Arbroath and they avoided relegation. I guess that wasn’t achieved playing tippy tappy shite so is less of an achievement? Fans are likely to be back next season, perhaps without limits on numbers and club should be looking to recruit a new management team and players that can get fans excited to buy their STs. Peter Grant would not be an inspiring choice, to put it *very* mildly. As people have mentioned, he may just be one of a number of candidates but if that’s the sort of contender for the gig then next season is finished before it’s started.
