Williamson should be one of Falkirk’s best players next season. Should rip up the L1 defences from right back. I really felt he would move from EEP and end up in the top flight or Champ down south. He had such fantastic potential when he broke through, so I’m not sure where things started to go wrong. Best moment was when he ended up being triple marked by Forfar.

Inverness, like Dunfermline, have went for someone who is cheap and easily available. Both teams will spin it otherwise because I guess you have to, but these are appointments that highlight the financial issues clubs are facing right now.

Amazing that Pars could hire Peter Grant this summer and it’s not even the worst appointment in the league.

I didn’t see the game actually, was out with a friend. I did watch the goalless draw with Dundee and it was probably the most horrific game I’ve seen in some time.

Most folk didn’t since very few people watch the live Championship games.

I would have previously suggested ensuring two go down from L2 every season but Lowland League is finished as a serious division after accepting a bribe and allowing Colt sides in.

I really liked Turner. Don’t know why he didn’t want a new deal but felt we looked a better team with him in it.

As you say, Gill really hasn’t featured enough to be judged fairly. Clearly no Pars manager has deemed him good enough to be any more than back-up. Personally, I feel he’s stayed at EEP too long and it will be good for him to get out there playing regularly. Sean Murdoch got released by the Pars as a youngster and ended up back at EEP later in his career a far better keeper.

We do but squad has bigger holes that require more immediate attention IMO. Thomas and Dow (if fit) are pretty decent options. I suppose McCann and O’Hara could cover if needed. I’d think we’ll probably end up with a young winger from the Premiership on loan.

Edwards is far from the finished article but he’s undoubtedly improved and that’s what you’re looking for in younger players. Now, he has to kick on again and aim to be the best left back in the Championship. Defence is nearly there IMO. I like the look of Comrie-Watson-Gaz-Edwards with MacDonald and potentially Martin providing cover. New keeper (or two?) and couple of central midfielders should be the next aim.

Pars release Euan Murray, Kyle Turner, Gabby McGill, Cammy Gill, Lucas Berry, Ben Swinton & Scott Cusick.

I think Murray is a loss tbh. I like Watson but I’d have kept Murray over him given the choice. Big Gaz looked promising though and I’m happy for that to become the partnership next season. We’ve known Turner was leaving since he went on loan. Grant needs to bring in a couple of more attack-minded midfielders. He never made an impact to show he should stay but Cammy Gill has been at EEP for a long time now. Hope he gets a regular gig and can show his ability. Think I’m the only Pars fan that saw very little in Whittaker. Looked half finished to me. Hopefully just back-up for Wilson.

Fully agree. Most folk would concur we had a fairly limited coach last year and obvious gaps in the squad and we still finished 4th. Dundee are absolutely nothing special but they’ll be in the top flight next season.

At least he’s going for the title, no messing about. He’ll look like a fud if he falls short but nothing about his interview suggested he has much self-awareness anyway.

If Grant signs Vigurs then I’ll turn the corner on the new boss fairly sharpish. Wanted him to run the show in the midfield at EEP for years.
