He's not going to impose himself on games, he's not a leader and he's not likely to be a starter were we not in an injury crisis.
Are you his agent?

I think it's a combination of 1) we paid for Chalmers, 2) he'll be getting paid more than Allan, 3) he was brought in as someone who specifically is good at keeping possession and 4) he gives an air of someone who doesn't "try" (aka he doesn't run around very much). When you add all that up and look at what he actually brings to the table, it's probably more surprising that he doesn't get even more stick!
Could he get more stick? Only Wighton even comes close in the average supporter scapegoat rankings.
By no means should this be seen as a defence of Chalmers btw - I think he’s been mostly mince this season. It’s just I don’t think he’s been any worse than Allan.

Scored more goals than Joe Chalmers (not that that's saying much!). I thought he did OK alongside Otoo tbf, although both he and Chalmers aren't players good enough for a side looking to challenge at the top end IMO.
Chalmers hasn’t been good either but he seems to get 10 x as much criticism as Allan for some reason.
It’s not like Allan is some untested teenager trying his best either - lad will be 24 next month.

Let’s be honest; Paul Allan adds very little to our team. He’s not much of a threat going forward, he doesn’t get stuck into tackles, his passing is average at best.
He seems to have a decent engine but I think if he was a signing rather than a player who came through the youth system then people would be more vocal about his performances.
As @CallumPar says though, the issues at the back are far more pressing.

Turner is a good player but seems to cause problems in the dressing room everywhere he goes.
If he performs on the park though I’m sure teammates and fans will be happy enough with him.

Thing is, we all thought as soon as the window opened that Ashcroft would be going on loan to someone. Then yesterday, 10 days into the window Tony Doc says he'll only let him go if he gets cover. That completely scuppers that until Dundee bring in a defender, could be today, could be the last day of the window.
The urgency in which we need to add defenders to the squad means that even if the scenario you’ve given is spot on, we should have simply moved to our next top target.
What if Dundee decide tomorrow that Ashcroft can go but he wants to go to Raith? I can’t accept that he is our first and only option.
It’s not like we’re just missing that one guy who will change everything; we need multiple players to plug the gaping wounds in our squad. It can’t just be a case of sitting twiddling our thumbs waiting on another club deciding if they want to keep someone.
The injury situation was significant before the QP game but with Comrie and Jak going down it became critical. Ending the game with Fenton, Hoggan and Sutherland on the pitch should have been a red alert sort of situation but almost a week later and we have added no one.
Let’s hope we see some more movement over the next week or two because this is only going to get worse otherwise.

It’s not like our squad was sensational with everyone fit but I’d have at least been confident we certainly would not be getting relegated.
Having Bene, Breen, Fisher, Todd, KRH and McCann out medium-long term is just brutal; they are all near enough certain starters.

Otoo has been good this season for us but not TOTS level stuff.
Think he is destined for a higher standard though.

Another fucking game moved for TV, and it's another decent away trip too. Game against Partick next month is now a Friday night BBC game. Shite.
Each to their own I guess but Thistle isn’t an exciting away day in the slightest.
Been there so many times over last few seasons, the stand is shite and we’ll likely lose.
Best to just skip the game and have a night out in Glasgow instead.

Not only does nobody think that, nobody has said that or anything like it.
The injury situation is genuinely a disaster and has been for most of the campaign. Without additional recruits, all that’s going to happen is the few players who are left will be overworked and end up getting muscle injuries of their own.
I don’t even think we need to be overly picky at the moment; anyone affordable and better than our youth players needs to at least be considered. We need warm bodies.

Edwards, Chalmers and Wighton might be the only players to start on Saturday who also started the Airdrie game on the opening day.

Was that the year we needed to beat you to avoid the playoffs? A horrendous day for us.
Yet also entirely predictable from the moment we chucked the 3-1 lead at Firhill the week before. You could see what was going to happen from a mile off.

Going to guess that a few people’s opinions on O’Reilly as a player would have been vastly different right now had he signed on at Raith.
Suddenly a player you were really keen to keep becomes over-hyped.

Considering Dundee United conceded just seven goals in their first 18 games, I’m amazed that only one person so far has Walton in their team.
I’m sure the defence deserve a lot of credit but seems logical that most Best XIs so far would have to overwhelmingly feature all those involved in building the league’s best defensive record?
United, Rovers and Thistle should make up the bulk of any selection, with the odd honourable mention here and there. Although find it very difficult to make the case for a Dunfermline player; maybe Josh Edwards at LB/LWB just for consistent decent to good performances.

You'd better sit down. He's on a contract to May 2025.
No, we can't explain it either.
That is just utterly inexplicable.

Think it’s pretty safe to say Falkirk will be in the Championship next season.
Not got much in the way of competition in League 1 but wouldn’t really matter when you’re going at over 2.5 points per game tbf.

I only just realised you lads still have the same manager who bottled it last season
Staggering he wasn’t sacked on the spot, never mind still being in post over half a season later!

I'd argue all of those managers deserve credit for that achievement, despite their failings elsewhere. The same applies to Davidson, and what he achieved winning both in one season is obviously even more impressive.
In fairness, I didn’t really give a shit about anything that happened in Scottish football during the pandemic tbh.

Can we please stop lauding managers for winning the Scottish Cup or League Cup? You need to win about 5 or 6 games tops and should absolutely not be confused with any guarantee of managerial talent.
John Hughes, Peter Houston, Alan Stubbs, Jim McIntyre, Danny Lennon, Ronny Deila and Kenny Shiels have all won major cup competitions in Scotland in the last 15 years; just saying.

North-east construction group Stewart Milne goes bust
This have any impact on the Dons at all?

He’s not corrupt but even if he was it’s certainly not up to an individual club to dictate which referees are in charge of which matches.
Rangers should have long since been charged with bringing the game into disrepute over this nonsense.

Otoo and McCann should be available on Saturday according to McPake which is a relief.
Still likely means either Josh Edwards or Miller Fenton playing in the back three though, unless he finally relents and just moves to a back four.
