    Each teams season out of 10 so far based on overall expectations of fans;

    Raith 10

    Dundee United 8

    Thistle 7

    Airdrie 9

    Dunfermline 6

    Morton 6

    Ayr 5

    Inverness 4

    Arbroath 5

    Queens Park 2

    I’d have us at a 4 or 5 tbh.

Can’t lose three derbies, collect 23 points from 18 games and say we’re doing better than average.

Considering they have only lost one game and have conceded just SEVEN goals, it’s remarkable that United are not top of the table. Of course, they win their game in hand and they would be 1st but still only on goal difference.

  2. Pretty much as expected from the update - no good news at all really and McPake even mentions issues with a couple of unnamed players that he didn’t want to expand upon.

It’s not only the injured players that are the problem though; guys like Edwards, Comrie and Chalmers are needing to play every single game regardless of condition/form etc as we don’t have anyone else to choose from.

Recruitments are essential this month or we’ll need to start giving some of the younger lads a chance, even if just to give the others a rest.

Obviously would love to even get to play offs and make it far enough to play Raith, but my eldest pointed out the other day that Raith could end up beating us 8 times in a single season. Horrendous. Hopefully we peak when it matters and win two games when it matters. But I won't lie, it's making me uneasy.

The League Cup game was a draw tbf so would *only* be seven defeats…

If we’re being serious about it though, I highly doubt we will end up in the top four and even if we scramble in, I’m confident Thistle would make pretty short work of us over two legs in the quarter-final.

  4. A few bright spots dotted around but some large dark blots on our season so far.

Defeated four times by Raith Rovers - so far! - and can only really claim to have been unfortunate to lose one of those games.

Performances at home to Ayr and away to Thistle were the worst of McPake’s reign.

The never-ending injuries have prevented the team from gaining any sort of momentum; we’ve not once come close to having our best XI on the park at the same time.

The performance at Tannadice at the start of the season was impressive, as was the home win against Morton. We were apparently good at Airdrie as well but I missed that one.

We have a period coming up where we need to pick up a few wins. Between now and mid February we play QP twice, as well as home matches against Airdrie, Morton and Arbroath. A spell which should see us banish any concerns of the bottom two or cause some to start reaching for the panic button.

  5. I’ve said for a while that the club will eventually take action against those in the NW if they don’t start actively self-policing.

I was in there plenty of times last season and the atmosphere was at times sensational. However, there was constantly an issue of people throwing objects onto the pitch, including flares, vapes etc.

They are given a lot of free rein but there has to be some responsibility or it will clearly be taken away.

  6. Add this to the abuse Ross McArthur received during the relegation season and you have to wonder if the German guys wonder why they even bother tbh.

There can be no doubt that the club has suffered a damaging blow to its reputation over this incident and we can only wait and see what action will be taken as a result.

I’m sure I am not the only Pars fan left completely disenchanted and embarrassed to be in any way associated with those cretins.

Got to be looking to win this. Queens Park seem to have fallen apart and we need to be, at the very least, distancing ourselves from the teams at the bottom of the table. 2 of our next 3 games are against QP and we need to be demanding 6 points from those 2 games, to kickstart the season again. Ideally, we’d beat Airdrie in between too, but let’s just focus on this game first.

The injury situation is the same shambles we’ve been dealing with for a while. We need to find ways to win games - particularly when we face teams in free-fall like this. No excuses if we can’t find a way to win this.

Anything less than seven points from the next three games would be a disappointment tbh and a real concern.

QP have been atrocious for months; just look at the table over the last 15 games:

Every team should be looking to beat them right now and Airdrie have the worst away record in the division.

Is Jason Canning responsible for the SNW post on X saying these boys aren't members? (whatever constitutes being a member). A lot unravelling on social media of pics of these guys in amongst SNW front and centre contributing to their ethos of creating an atmosphere. One boy involved wearing a SNW hoodie ffs 🙈

I own a SNW hoodie but I don’t even sit in the NW.

Me thinks a poor lawyer you would make.

  9. Anything to distract myself from yesterday’s miserable on and off field embarrassments.

This should be an absolute stinker between two sides in poor form. We have been awful recently but QP have somehow not won in this league since August; a truly remarkable feat in a division as poor as this.

We will be missing at least six senior players - possibly more - and badly need reinforcements this month if we’re to avoid slipping further down the table.

The Spiders will simply not get an easier chance for three points.

Pars fans say if you cut Chris Hamilton in half he'd have PARS written right the way through him. Interesting, I know how they do that with rock but how do they manage it with a pudding?

On a pretty bleak morning for the Pars, I can at least take some comfort from knowing I am physically incapable of posting a lamer joke than this.

It's usually wee dicks that don't even truly support the club either. Probably fans of the ugly sisters and using their local team as an excuse just to cause trouble and be bams.

Nah, not having this. Can’t just dismiss them as nothing to do with us because it’s uncomfortable.

Club statement is short but all that was needed.

Don’t think it’s really DAFCs fault if wee bams attack someone, the tough couple of days will be for them when the Police chap their doors.  There’s always an element in every club. We’ve got our share and any Rovers fan claiming otherwise is full of it. The “Ultras” groups can do good stuff in getting the atmosphere going but as you say only takes a few to go too far.

It’s not the club’s fault they attacked the guy but they did just release a big glossy presentation about how we are a powerful force for the community and committed to fairness etc.

Can’t go for the moral high ground like that and then turn around and say the behaviour of fans is nothing to do with them.

I'm not a fan of social justice that way, but I wouldn't be opposed to offering the involved parties a choice:

    1) A 1-year+ ban on attending football matches, and the consequences of their actions in a Court.

    2) Facing 15 Pars fans who have permission to do to them what they did to that lad.

Anyone think any one of them would accept option 2?
