I think it’s hard to say how good he is really. Excluding Alex Samuel for 35 minutes at Stark’s Park, no striker was ever going to look good in a Duncan Ferguson system. I always thought he looked like a boy playing man’s football when he came on but I he had flashes of pace/good movement which suggest there may be a player in there if given the opportunity.

Doesn’t come across as harsh at all, your opinion is respected. He’s barely kicked a ball past few seasons due to injury/Duncball, I’m sure he’ll come good and show his quality.

Caley Thistle fan here in peace. Wondering what you guys assessments of a few of our ex-players are? Particularly interested in what you make of young Roddy MacGregor and Niko Ujdur, two players Large Duncan didn’t seem to rate at all, much to the consternation of our support.

Roddy has played 1050 of the 1080 minutes he has been available for this season at Queens Park. By all accounts, he has been one of their best performers. Big Dunc thought a low confidence and out of position Luis Longstaff was a better choice. When people ask why we were delighted to see the back of him, that is proof of his ability to judge a good player.

It’s likely one/a combination of Charlie Christie and Scott Kellacher, who are already on the payroll, take the helm if Ferguson goes. There would be no need to bring anybody in.

The league is piss poor, yourselves included. The main thing anchoring this team from fulfilling its potential is the manager, who should be first out of the door. It’s a bit if your auntie had balls she’d be your uncle, however anybody who’s watched us in this first round of fixtures will tell you we’ve looked superior to the sides we are playing in most aspects of play, we are just far too conservative under this manager which prevents us scoring the goals required. I’m confident if he goes and we keep the bulk of the squad, we’ll win plenty of matches between now and the end of the season and have a decent chance of staying up. Charlie Christie seemed pretty positive at the weekend about our chances of keeping most of the squad together, following discussions with others who have been through the process. I could of course be totally wrong and the squad gets decimated, in which case we would likely be too far adrift.

The reason we all trust Savage implicitly is because it is common knowledge he is an astute businessman. He oversaw the most successful financial period in the clubs history. His competence is proven and he holds the best interest of the club at heart. He doesn’t stand to benefit personally at all.

Wasn’t impressed by Queens today. Or Caley. Or any other side I’ve seen in this league. The standard really is quite poor. We’ve looked very comfortable in our opening 5 games, if uninspiring. We look solid defensively, if (very large if) we can improve going the other way then there is absolutely no reason we shouldn’t be competing for the title based on what I’ve seen so far. Ferguson seems to be showing some adaptability at long last, first switching the formation recently and then today playing a wee bit more direct at times - it’s been a long time coming. We have a young team and are going to be inconsistent. If we can keep key players fit, the league is there for the taking IMO. The quality may not be great but it should be a bear pit of a season, with everyone taking points off each other. Should be some laugh. Really hope Adam Brooks gets a run of games, there’s definitely a player in there!
