  1. Huge win for us. Sadly working so couldn’t make it - how did we play?
  2. A football team who starts Steven Boyd cannot be considered a serious outfit.
  3. I think it’s time to talk about Nathan Shaw. His form is a large part of the reason we are struggling. It’s probably unfair how much we rely on him for creativity/penetration but I don’t think it’s unfair to say he has been a massive disappointment, among many others, this season. The lack of alternative options probably hasn’t helped as he’s basically guaranteed a starting place every week. I really don’t like Billy Mckay in this system. It doesn’t play to his strengths at all. Our build up leads to one of the best penalty box strikers in the league receiving the ball… anywhere but the penalty box. I actually think we’re fine defensively, we are however in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.
  4. Taking solace from the fact that Morton are absolutely rotten. Never seen a more negative side in Inverness in my Tod. We need to ditch the five at the back at home. Absolutely pointless against teams who come and sit in. It’s not exactly like the wing backs were being encouraged to bomb on. Going to be a busy January, a few decent additions and we’ll be fine. Mainly because Arbroath and Morton are dreadful.
  5. I burst out laughing any time Lodovica got near the ball and a few folk around me were laughing too. He’s hilariously bad for this level. There’s something endearing about that though
  6. Extending Anderson, Boyes and Wotherspoon has to be the priority. All be been quality. Worried Livi will recall Boyes as they aren’t exactly setting the heather on fire. In terms of signings, we definitely need a striker and a winger. There are numerous players we should be looking to move on. Just not good enough sadly, and using a wage which could be more effectively utilised. For me, that list is: Duffy, Davidson, Sheridan, Lodovica, Samuels and Delaney.
  7. Surely we are a prime candidate for foreign investment? Surprises me no American businessman who’s obsessed with Nessie hasn’t taken us on yet.
  8. His presence on commentary was the very reason for our awful first half performance. Was Doddsball all over again. Glad big Dunc sorted it at half time
  9. best player on the park got us tonight, will take the point and up the road, played well for about 20 minutes and honking the rest. How bad must Sheridan and Lodovica be for Longstaff to be chucked on up top. Pars a good side, can count yourselves extremely unlucky not to have won
  10. We have been absolutely dreadful in that first. Not a clue how we are winning
  11. Hello Pars, hope you all have a fucking miserable afternoon. In that spirit, anyone got any recommendations for scran after the game?
  12. Highland Council seemingly against us becoming the Man City of the north https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/exclusive-plans-to-keep-caley-thistle-safe-into-the-futur-333187/
  13. I should add, my mates were all absolutely hammered by the time I got back to Glasgow but the result very much helped me drown my sorrows quickly enough to catch up!!
  14. Duncball has me feeling delusionally confident. Staying in Dunfermline/somewhere cheap in the central belt as going to Scotland v Norway on Sunday so really looking forward to this weekend. The Pars are a good side, I’d probably take a point from this however if we can play half as well as we did first half against United in our last away game we should be looking at winning this. Whenever we head to East End Park I have traumatic flashbacks of my first visit in 2017, when you gave us a 5-1 doing. I patched doing the sub crawl during the day with my mates to go. Think that was the one and only time we saw our “game changer” that season, Big Susan Felitciano Zschusschen. Who knew we’d sign his reincarnation in Harry Lodovica
  15. First time round he was obviously a resounding success. I’ll leave someone more knowledgable to speak on that stint. The job he did for us in his spell from 2017 is seriously underrated. We were an absolute omnishambles on and off the park following relegation. We barely had a squad to start the season, were running an unsustainable deficit and had to slash budgets or face extinction. He managed to steady the ship after an understandably difficult start before building some very good squads. His recruitment overall was very good, he has a real eye for a player and good contacts. He really did get the best out of some really average players - he earned Coll Donaldson a move to the Premiership for example (miracle worker). He can also be credited for a major role in the success of Shaun Rooney. I for one was gutted when he had to step away from the role, rate him really highly as a manager and a person. Some may contend he never got us back up and we underachieved considering some of the talent we had. There were some obvious limitations, for example we had a really poor record in big league games under him IIRC. From what I remember, he loved a big man up top and we played some pretty good football at times. Unfortunately, his time with us has been tainted somewhat by his spell as “Sporting Director”. It’s unclear which signings were his/Billy Dodds’ during this time but some of them (especially last season) were terrible. Steven Boyd stands out for me as one of the most bizarre signings we’ve made in a long time, was clearly never going to be good enough from the start. What he was actually doing in his day to day was a well guarded secret. Instead of watching us every week as you’d expect, he was moonlighting and watching County for sportsound on a weekend which rightly caused serious consternation among our support. Overall, I hope our support can see past the latter spell and focus on the significant contributions he has made to our club. I would wish him well wherever he ends up
  16. He will be too terrified of Big Dunc to say no to a contract extension. We have nothing to worry about.
  17. Think others have summed it up well. Both teams missed chances, a draw probably fair though. Thought we were excellent in the first half, some of the counter attacking football we were playing was outstanding and we looked solid (two United sitters aside). How refreshing to have a manager who implements a clear identity and tactics. Second half we ran out of steam really around the hour mark after scoring a brilliant goal. Thought we did well to frustrate United but we didn’t look like scoring again. We’re clearly still a player or two short of competing at the top end as we have very little on the bench to positively impact a game (*cough* Cillian Sheridan *cough*). A great point and onto the next one - I’ve never seen a team that well received after a draw, sums up the impact Ferguson has had. Onto next week, really need to start winning our home games if we want to be looking at the right end of the table
  18. This is exactly the kind of game Caley Thistle have a history of winning. I am feeling delusionally optimistic, 3-0 United then
  19. Thanks for the three points. We’ll be seeing you soon on our way past you up the league table.
  20. Jay Emmanuel Thomas, otherwise known as JET. Talk to me. On trial with us. Likely to do a job in the Championship?
