  1. Naismith sacked. And Bomber away aswell I believe. What's the story?
  2. No problem with the Edinburgh tactics but the referee could certainly have dealt with it differently. The incident with See down injured for a couple of minutes, and still the goalkeeper wasn’t ready to take the goal kick was ridiculous. Definitely a few of our team looked to feeling the effects of a few games in quick succession. Thomson in particular, oh, and Ross Forbes. I think Swift could and should have made changes at half time. We needed pace and creativity but he seemed reluctant to change things. Corbett was having a nightmare and Anderson wasn’t what was needed in the middle. A weeks rest will be welcome I would imagine.
  3. Neither team looked like they were going to score tonight so to lose in the 92nd minute was a real sore one. Nothing much changes. Saturday is still a huge game for us but that point tonight may have come in handy.
  4. Stirling really are awful. The two key players were Marc Laird and Adam Brown. We weren’t much better today but one moment of brilliance from Brown was all that was needed. I would imagine he will start on Tuesday. It was just a matter of time before Laird was sent off. He actually tried to take Christie out on the touch line a few minutes before his red but he was too slow to catch him, so it wasn’t a surprise that he eventually saw red. It was almost as if he was trying to get sent off… We have a free shot in midweek against Kelty and then a big game next Saturday.
  5. Echo the comments re Urminsky. The defence has looked its most assured all season in the last two games.
  6. Points dropped no doubt but would probably have taken a point before the match. But we look pretty assured just now. Good times.
  7. Really happy with that performance yesterday. We looked in control throughout the game and unlike a lot of games this season when we have hung on at best, or contrived to just throw points away, we never looked under any threat at all. Forfar were poor which of course was a combination of their inadequacies and our control of the ball, but I’d go as far as to say that bizarrely they were the worst team I’ve seen this season. The left back and PJ Crossan were spectacularly bad, and it was good to see that Andy Munro still thinks he’s a midfield maestro pinging 30 yard passes out the park. It was good to see Michael Miller have a good game. He is a strong player at this level and consistently good. Michael Anderson continues to prove his doubters wrong including me, and Urminsky had his most composed game. Good handling and good kicking. Only negative is the injury to Wedderburn. Doesn’t look good for him for Wednesday. We’re definitely heading in the right direction.
  8. Wonder if Ross Lyon will return, perhaps instead of Anderson? Other than that, can't imagine he will make any changes. We certainly look a lot reliable than we have done all season. Not sure we will win on Saturday but you get the impression that we have stabilised things.
  9. Agree with Swift that we would have lost that earlier in the season. Thomson back is a huge difference for us. Goal was great and their goal was really well worked but questions about the keeper. I know he probably saw it late but it was a poor effort at a save. To be fair to him he did make a couple of good blocks but he isn’t the safe, reliable keeper we wanted/needed. Going to be an interesting end to the season, at the right end of the table, which is a big improvement since Christmas time.
  10. Yikes - that is odd. I know that they are allowed to play for the development team but wouldn't have thought that they could play for the first team, and us.
  11. Cult Hero definition: Peter Urminsky Eccentric definition: Peter Urminsky Great pen save but what the feck was he doing at the rebound. He is definitely unorthodox, but effective.
  12. Red - it looked as if Tapping hit out at Omar. Pen - looked soft but Miller lost one of his boots so there was obviously contact As for the game, they did get the tactics right as we won the game but why do we sit back and invite pressure? I realise Elgin barely created a chance with all their possession but I do think we could have won that game comfortably had we pressed Elgin. Thought Mikey Anderson was excellent today, and Calum Yeats was our other stand out player. Impressive. Orr could have had his hat trick before the pen but for a ridiculous save from the Elgin keeper. As for our new no1, he looked shaky. Hopefully first day nerves. Thought it was a typical afternoon watching Stenhousemuir this season.
  13. The club have just said that Graeme Smith is back training (but won't feature at the weekend). In other words, we're not signing a new goalie?
  14. There was talk of Robert Thomson returning to training last week. Presume he wouldn't start the game but presume he will be on the bench.
  15. Really sad news. And only 52. Without guys like him lower leagues clubs would not survive. RIP
  16. Disappointed that Stone has signed for Albion - really hoped he would end up at Ochilview. Suppose Binnie might now be available. Swift's track record with goalies is awful so maybe he has been impressed with Binnie in the games against Stenhousemuir this season - eek.
  17. Have they played in a major international tournament though? Kirin Cup - does that count?
  18. You can blame the officials all you want but when the manager of one of the clubs cheats to win a penalty what chance have they got. This is the same manager who last week claimed that when one of his of his players handles the ball in the box it isn’t a penalty. He then goes on to question the officials. This is despite the officials simply applying the rules.
  19. I thought watching it live that the 2nd goal was classic Ryan Marshall but wasn’t sure. I was right. If Swift doesn’t have a new keeper in place for the Elgin game then it is time up as far as I’m concerned.
  20. We were lucky it was only 2 today. From the first minute to last we didn’t look in the least bit interested. Cowdenbeath the worst team in the league? Not based on that performance. Why does he think that just because a back 3 worked on a quagmire at Albion that it was the way to go today, especially as he was forced into playing Brown as a wing back. I really think we are getting close to the point when we have to get rid.
