  1. Sounds like Bowat is at the top of that list at the moment after playing a season in the Austrian Bundesliga. Morrison would possibly be the other but he was only playing league 1 for Wigan last season and was in and out of the team AFAIK. Will be interesting to see what happens with both them next season, though.
  2. I’m still erring on the side of Clarke staying at least until after the nations league, but I can’t stop thinking about the fact that all of our best results under him have been when there was next to no pressure. In the WC play off against Ukraine and both euros tournaments, we just didn’t show up. At all. I can’t decide whether that’s Clarke fault, the players or both.
  3. He took the corner when McTominay scored that last minute winner vs Israel
  4. the old Mighty Ducks flying V has got to be an option surely? Since there's more players in a football team, we could add an L underneath for protection and then our side could be famous for our VLs.
  5. It looked to me like for the first one they were trying for a low flick on from gilmour, which very nearly happened. For the second, they set up the same and used gilmour as a decoy to drag the defender. McT instead played a higher cross that Hanley nearly got on the end of. After that, I don’t know and I could of course be talking utter bollocks, though!
  6. Nah, by about the 70th minute Clarke had decided he wanted a draw.
  7. He cost us two, possibly three goals tonight. Let’s hope a couple of the younger guys kick on because the options right now are dire.
  8. It was a shit challenge, but this is soap opera pish.
  9. Germany 0 - 2 Scotland (logic being that it'll follow the pattern of Denmark and Spain games and that I'm due my lobotomy) Scotland 1 - 1 Switzerland (we'll start sluggish after having beaten Germany but score a late equaliser) Scotland 1 - 2 Hungary (previous results will mean that we're through - we're shite in friendlies, so) We'll qualify with 4pts, thank you very much.
  10. Lennon Miller could possibly end up becoming that guy. Before that, though, I think Marc Leonard has the potential. He had a brilliant season in League One this year with several Championship clubs after him. If he does well at that level next season then he’d be in contention.
  11. Yep, I can’t help but think that the positive recent results are in spite of Gemmill and that they’d be doing even better with an actual coach.
  12. TBH I think that Ralston is a good bit better than SOD was and we’d all be fairly happy that he’s there if it wasn’t for the fact that Hickey is several levels above. We’re struggling for depth, especially because of the injuries, but also because we’re a smaller nation so just have fewer options to call on. That said, I’m convinced that our strongest starting 11 should be able to at least compete with almost anyone at this tournament.
  13. First 70 last night and first 70 vs Netherlands should be the framework for Germany. We could very well have won both of those matches if not for some better finishing and all the subs because they were friendlies. With that in mind, I think Gilmour has to play as he gives us the highest chance of keeping control and possession for passages of the game.
