  1. posting this so folk can have a better look as probably don't see much MLS - especially with the time difference to Vancouver. Fully appreciate concerns about the MLS as a league, but I'd say it's no worse than the Scottish Premiership. Also fully appreciated why he's not been involved up until now but I do think he could do a job. Added to that, he's good pals with a number of the squad already (albeit he'd possibly be replacing one of these in Armstrong) so shouldn't have any issues integrating quickly.
  2. That's a real bugger. Feel bad for Armstrong and he's been a consistent impact off the bench for us in recent times. The universe seems to be conspiring towards this low effort photoshop job:
  3. He’s some boy for turning it on when he’s after a move. Let’s hope he’s still looking in June…
  4. Real shame for Ferguson. I hope that it doesn't hamper a big move for him. He'll be a big miss for our squad at the Euros. I'm still one of the ones that would like to see Gauld given a chance. Having seen him play a fair bit, I think he still offers something a bit different to our other attacking mids and could even play up front. But then again, I'd also like to go play some bluesy sax on a Springfield bridge. What can you do...
  5. While this is mostly true, I think it's more to do with the fact that he went to the MLS right around covid and so it was impractical if not impossible for him to travel for a squad during that time due to the restrictions. That was probably the period where Clarke might have looked at him but it couldn't happen. A few more years have passed and I think Clarke is more keen to look at the younger ones coming through, if any. John Carver hinted that that's the case in a recent interview.
  6. In all european competitions last season, there were five Italian teams reaching the semi final stage (2 in Champions League, 2 in Europa League and 1 in Conference). It might not be as good as the 90s, but it’s a high enough standard. Also, this season, Bologna are ahead of two of those five and catching up with a third. Last point: Brighton have one of our first choice midfielders and they just got hammered by Roma, again sitting below Bologna in Serie A. There’s more than a fair shout that Ferguson deserves to start, but it just happens that both McTominay and McGinn have been the two talismans for Scotland over the past two campaigns on top of them playing at top clubs domestically. It’s a bugger for him but it is what it is.
  7. It's one thing Clarke having a personal fall out with a player - I don't think that this happens or has happened. What I think is more likely is that certain players might have a bad attitude and Clarke chooses to keep them out of the squad for that reason. There was an interview with Postecoglu where he said that one player with the wrong character creates loads of problems in a squad. I'd imagine that Clarke has a similar view to that. I've nothing to go on that either Fraser or McBurnie have that kind of attitude other than the usual rumours that everyone has seen that could be true, false or somewhere in between, but it seems a more likely reason for their exclusion than the first option.
  8. Yeah, I know. Was meaning more in terms of what he's already achieved with his career. f**k it. Punt them all and have Cathro and his laptop enabled AI agent army deal with the lot. CATH GPT*.
  9. Probably Performance Director would be the more likely role for someone like Cathro, but maybe they could expand the role to also coach the 19s (or 21s and punt Gemmil down to the 19s...or just punt Gemmil....). The only one that is currently already in the system that seems to be doing good things is McLaughlin so he'd be worth considering, although maybe there's value in keeping him where he is as well. An other person I thought of was Rhys McCabe - is his role at Airdrie part time? He's still to climb the job ladder so would maybe see it as a good thing to add to his CV. Been really impressed with his commitment to decent football at Airdrie and seems to already use and improve young players.
  10. Dunno who agreed to a friendly against these hammer throwers. Was always an injury or two waiting to happen.
  11. Big drop off once we went to the bench. First XI have cemented their places. Subs not so much.
  12. The common understanding is that the trend of having a guy lying down behind the wall is because of Ronaldinho, but I’m convinced it’s more from the sheer embarrassment of being done by Charlie Adam.
  13. “Alright, everyone, couple Scotland games coming up, eh?…..”
  14. Yep, wrap him up in cotton wool, styrofoam whatever. In fact one of they big stupid inflatable orb things would do. We need him to be fit.
  15. Hiya Jacob, you looking forward to the game against Sheffield Utd, pal?
  16. Ah! You’re playing a game of ‘say what you see’! Good clean fun. Ironically
  17. Finn took the absolute piss out of Smith in that game. That passage near the end where he drop kicked, hit the post, Smith had the chance to start a counter but Finn read the play and produced a 50-22 just summed it all up. Levels.
