  1. I’d go same team that started vs Israel with Christie in for Dykes.
  2. Lottery numbers is probably preparing a dissertation on how in the 13th minute (and 23 seconds, or something) of Norwich’s game vs Liverpool, Gilmour’s deficiencies single-handedly caused Farke getting the sack today…. Hopefully Gilmour is just as good for Scotland in the coming games as he has been in all of his previous caps. It’s worth repeating that of all his caps, Scotland have only lost one (denmark), drawn two (Netherlands and England) and won the rest. I’m in no doubt that Scotland are a much better team with him playing. Hopefully he’ll get some more game time under the new manager. Better yet, would be if he gets sent to a Serie A or La Liga team in January, on loan, instead.
  3. Agree with this. He can’t be far off a full cap if he’s playing every week at that level and at that age.
  4. You’re right. Let’s drop him. Or, better yet, let’s all drop our pies. That way we can pay better attention to the bits that you know more about than us.
  5. A Lyndon Dykes song using the theme tune to Neighbours would be cringy as and also very tartan army. Let’s make it happen.
  6. Norwich getting an absolute hiding from Chelsea. Maybe Billy Gilmour wasn’t the problem after all…
  7. With both Dykes and Christie suspended, is it finally the time to have a look at Gauld? He’s been making some big Impressions.
  8. Yep, that’s true. That was a great tackle and crucial at that point of the game. I still really rate him - just wish he was a wee bit more consistent because if he played to even 90% of that performance in the europa final alongside Gilmour and McGinn, we’d be laughing. Maybe not fair to single him out, though, because pretty much all of them were below par tonight. But, we got the win, come rain or come shine.
  9. Played well and lost loads of times so will take not playing well and winning. Win against Moldova and we won’t care. Thought the subs made a difference - we were better once McGregor came on and obviously Patterson got the assist - just wish they’d been made sooner. McTominay is a weird one. He was immense in the europa league final and so he’s definitely got that in him, but then he has games like today (althoughbarely anyone played well today). I’ve been keen to see tonight’s midfield for a while, but am now more on the side of McGregor, McGinn, Gilmour. Still a giant step towards the playoffs, though.
  10. We’ve got 2426255 problems, but Billy Gilmour ain’t one.
  11. Scotland’s record with Billy Gilmour in the team: P7 W4 D2 L1
  12. Really should have been called up. I thought that maybe it was due to travel restrictions, but then saw all the European based players that were involved in last night’s USA v Canada game. You just need to watch any game of the past season and a half that he’s played to know that he should be in our squad. I’m convinced that Him, Gilmour and McGinn linking up would go a long way to sorting our goal problems. There were a few times in the past couple of games where gilmour had no options to pass forward because no one was making space, forcing him to pass sideways or back instead. Gauld is the type of player that’d constantly be creating options for him.
  13. Think this could be it. He’s a good bit older than the other options so more chance that he’s double vaxxed. He’s been in one squad before though and Clarke likes that.
  14. Fairly certain I remember him playing there for Southampton but could be wrong. Either way, disagree about his effectiveness out wide and the main point was that he’d be better defensively than Fraser. Moot point anyway, though, because he’s injured.
  15. Except for RWB and possibly McGinn, it’ll be pretty close to a starting 11 that we’d have expected. Will probably be a bigger test of our right sided centre back as he’ll have to defend a fair bit more to compensate. I’d say that Armstrong is now one of our biggest misses because he’s played at RWB before too and I’d have taken him defensively over Fraser. Nae bother though - just got to make sure the ball gets kept on our left side I’d be tempted to put Christie upfront with Adams and stick Turnbull at the top of the midfield. McGregor and Gilmour seemed to work well vs England so would be excited to see that again tonight.
