  1. The fact that this is true is grim. If Bullen gets till the end of the season there's a worryingly good chance he matches Hopkin.
  2. It's possible that my memory is clouded by the fact a significant part of Kerr's tenure was during the covid era, but at least Kerr seemed to be trying for a certain style. 2 years on and I don't have a clue how Bullen sets up his tactics or how he wants his team to play.
  3. I recall the likes of Tom Walsh, Joe Chalmers had decent reputations at this level when we signed them....
  4. Kerr looked like he wanted Ayr to play in a similar way to McCall. Think he was just too inexperienced at management to convey that over. Kerr wasn't helped by that transfer window where we got duds like Andre Wright and Dario Zanatta......
  5. This is one of lifes great mysteries to Ayr United at the moment so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  6. "2-0 is a dangerous scoreline." Always baffled me this one. Surely it's better than 1-0?
  7. I might have been hopelessly optimistic when I called it a defence. As it bears little resemblance to anything remotely defensive.
  8. With Ayr's current form there is some potential for this to be worse than the 4-0 scudding Hopkin (shudder) oversaw. Our defence certainly do love to gift teams goals at the moment.
  9. Billy Mckay will never have scored an easier goal than that. A complete comedy of errors from Ayr for his goal. Dowds having a goal disallowed and then us conceding less than five minutes later seems to be the story of this season.
  10. It's clear that Bullen does not have any real plan of how to use this squad. If that's down to the recruitment during the 23 summer window then questions have to be asked of Glendinning and our recruitment system. It's a real shame as being an appointment that wasn't from one of the usual Scottish merry go round of managers/duds I really wanted Bullen to work out well longer term.
  11. Nah, the bus station there reeks of pish and has previous for having services withdrawn due to vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
  12. Must have been a visitor from the Pyongyang Ayr United supporters club. Instinct kicked in when they heard criticism of the dear leader and they can see plots against them everywhere.
  13. With how uncomfortable we look at it playing it out from the back was eventually going to concede a goal like that. Are the players being told to to that in training because they've never looked particularly comfortable doing it. Couldn't tell from SRE whether Dowds disallowed goal was offside. Sums Ayr up right now that we gift a goal 2 minutes later. Chalmers finish was very good and Amartey was unlucky hitting the crossbar. If Bullen is still manager next week a loss to Arbroath surely is curtains for his management. (Arguably today should be.)
  14. Despite having only one hit and finishing very near the foot of the table I enjoyed my 1st deadpool. Avoiding a zero pointer helped. For their organisation efforts many thanks to @Miguel Sanchez Congratulations to @Aim Here
  15. I wouldn't worry Ayr are very generous hosts to away teams. Kindly giving up vast amounts of space in midfield at least 3 times a match. You'll be guaranteed at least a couple of shots.
  16. A certain away win. Inverness should automatically be relegated if they fail to win this match.
  17. Will the thumbnail have Bullen look like he has just had a massive jobby?
  18. Was thinking similar. Mutch made a couple of important saves but his distribution of the ball is a bomb scare. On a side note personally it seemed Albinsons dip in form earlier in the season coincided with Dave Timmins leaving as GK coach. Could just be me.
  19. My favourite quote from it is surely "the team who works hardest, runs further." 2nd is "provision of gilets results in victory, a deficit of gilets guarantees defeat".
