  1. You boys are affy touchy about a boy you're over! Comments are clearly aimed at the press who have pretty much had it in for him for not becoming a world beater after scoring against Barca. He's moved around more than most so you can't really expect him to show loyalty to Motherwell, just respect and gratitude which he has, just about, done. I do hope his football is better than his interviews though...
  2. We are on a terrible run but have a funny feeling we'll surprise all our fans and win reasonably comfortably.
  3. Afraid I don't see Asghar as the messiah, precisely the opposite.
  4. I genuinely didn't expect at the end of last season to be in a relegation battle this season. Why would be? When Mellon was despatched and Courts hired I had my fears and after the first Aberdeen game I was more concerned, but the reality is that with our resources we shouldn't be relegation fodder. We should finish in the top 6. I also have an eye on what Ogren has been told as if he pulls the plug (as he just did with his golf development) then we are well and truly screwed. I'm not asking for him to be sacked, but I am not sure he is going to turn it around so it becomes a timing game. Let's hope the results pick up. I'd also love to be giving managers 3 or 4 seasons to grow, but we don't live in those times.
  5. I think that is fair enough, but I am slightly more glass half empty. I have no confidence in Asghar and when he handed the role to Courts after bullsh1tting about a thorough process I assumed the worst. I don't get to many games so when I went to Easter Road I was expecting to see a lesser version of the usual United performances there (i.e. huff and puff and come away with a draw at best). We were absolutely fantastic. Totally bossed the game and could have won by more. Even in the heady days of the 80s and 90s when Hibs were sh1te we never played that well at Easter Road. I genuinely thought we'd hit the jackpot with Courts - talks mince but gets the players and able to get them to do what he wants them to do on the pitch. Even at Tynecastle (I am Edinburgh based!) I thought you could still see we were playing good football but were too open for a v good Hearts side - I thought that was forgivable. I thought he'd take a look at that and sort it out. Moving on to where we are now. After a second round of fixtures (nearly) we seem to have been figured out. We don't seem to have any plan or structure any more. The players who were executing the plan perfectly seem to not know what the plan is. Courts continues to talk mince, but it is even more deluded mince as it doesn't seem to reflect what everyone else can see on the park. He doesn't appear to know what our best team is and doesn't appear to know the limitations of some of our players and the best attributes of others. I don't know where he goes from here - there was always going to be a sticky spell and the real test of him was how he handled that. He appears to be handling it badly, very badly. We can't afford shocking halves of football like Tuesday. My initial fears have proven true after all - Courts appears not to have the knowhow to dig us out of this. Flowery platitudes are fine when the team are getting results, but I don't see the necessary bottle and straight talking needed to turn this dressing room around. We've gone from likely over-inflated hopes of European football to the stark reality of an impending dogfight with Saints and the Fun to survive. That is simply not good enough for the vision that Ogren has been sold. I'm hoping I'm wrong but I don't see him turning it around. We are then in a really tough place. Asghar will scare off any decent manager and we'll be left with another internal or a left-field who doesn't know the scottish game. At some point Ogren has to see that most of what he has been told is bull.
  6. I commend Ric for having the correct moral compass. I don't condemn Boyle for taking the cash.
  7. We've improved the team since the away game to Hibs when we were excellent (Levitt didn't play that day and now we have Watt). The performances since are down to the manager and his inability to keep us playing a certain way. Really no obvious reason why we have gone backwards so quickly. I think he realised after Tynecastle that we are too open and he simply doesn't know how to sort that and keep us competitive at the other end. We've got a dud I'm afraid.
  8. Plenty boys voting with their feet. Always going to happen when Courts eventually was exposed as the charlatan's charlatan. People are no daft and even less daft with their hard earned. Mr Ogren will eventually see that he has chosen the wrong management 'team'.
  9. I have a grudging admiration for Brown. Two totally separate Rangers legal entities have fallen for his wind up tactics for years. He must have missed them in the early years of the latest incarnation. Wouldn't put it past him to come out of retirement and pester their third incarnation when the overspending hits them in the next few years and they are back in League 2.
  10. Tend to agree with that attitude. Refereeing decisions will tend to even out between teams like ours. The ref didn't leave our attacking right back, form midfielder and new league top scorer on the bench.
  11. I thought we'd come good - saw them at Easter Road in the 3-0 win and thought we were superb. Don't think we have won one since! I don't think you guys have got going. McPake has put it out there to the senior players - I have a funny feeling you might just see a response. As much as I think Griffiths is a liability he is also the most natural finisher in the league (and I think he'll knuckle down) - if you can tighten up at the back (a big if) points will start coming.
  12. Levitt needs to play in front of Fuchs (he's a ball winner not a creative) Harkes needs to play on the bench. Courts needs to play with the traffic.
  13. I don't think so. On current form we are every bit as bad as you and the Fermers. Once Livi, County and St Mirren go above us and Saints turn a corner, I think it will be us for 11th and 12th. Yes we have a points advantage and yes you are mince, but at least your manager knows he's sh1te.
  14. Take some solace in us being utterly pish too, give us a couple of weeks and we'll be right there with you in the Tayside relegation triangle
  15. Jeesus, if you are gonna go all big man on t'internet at least get your grammar right. Apostrophe catastrophe alert. I was only trying to liven up your page anyway - it was always bollocks - fun while it lasted. 'til next time
  16. Aye, the league's topscorer benched for a boy who hasn't played all season (and wasn't the answer any time he has played). Bet T.Watt is wondering what he has let himself in for. Guessing he never actually listened to Courts when signing for his bumper new salary.
  17. Not yet - not sure he would have made much difference though - our manager would have either benched him or played him out of position. Looks like Goodwin has our man's number...like the rest of the league.
  18. I'd prefer to start with a whole new management team. Assume Neilson was due his Academy contract game... Typical United a chance to start positively. Only real 'surprise' was Clark didn't start. Can we sell Courts and Asghar this window?
  19. I despair - we are being horsed by a team with no wins in 11, at home. Courts has totally lost it.
  20. The honeymoon period is well and truly over. Here's hoping Watt makes a difference - if he actually plays him...
  21. Just sayin'... FWIW if you get Griffiths even 70% fit he's a no brainer.
  22. I've always cursed the footballing gods that I wasn't born in Paisley.
  23. That's just not very good - look at Coventry - that's a dig.
