Am I the only one that gets annoyed when the stadium is full with people that don’t normally go? Could do with their support week in week out, not just for a ‘glamour’ match. You get used to the folk you know nearby then the ones that just show up seem to be rude, entitled and hostile regarding seating, standing and the rest of it.

Me and the 2 old guys that sit behind me were saying that tonight. There was definitely some fans there tonight who were entitled like you said.

  2. That's the worst I've seen us play in a long long time. New season same old pish. I'm fucking sick of Alexander and his bullshit. If we don't win next week then we should just leave him behind. I'm aware there will be fans who says it's a new season, fresh slate etc but that was just like watching last season. He's out of excuses. I was worried before tonight about this season but after seeing that tonight it's going to be long and brutal season if things don't change.

  3. I agree that a No.9 is a position where we need to have back up in given the factors of Van Veens injuries, days he's not interested and his tendency to get a couple of suspensions as well Effords lack of any real consistency and what looks like Alexanders lack of trust in Shields up front.

Hopefully if/when we get past Sligo and the English clubs are further along in deciding who they want and who they don't, we'll bring someone in.

I know we've had mile-oots in our support since the dawn of time, as with all other clubs, and sometimes some of us dip in and out of that category, but this year they really seem to have oot-miled themselves. There is an unhingededness that seems to have spread. Is it covid? Is this happening everywhere, it is it just our turn this year?

The sheer level of mental gymnastics we are going to see as this season unfolds is going to be immense.

I read the Facebook comments today, jeez-o.

I've noticed that myself, especially in the last few days. Any decision the club makes at the moment is met with a the same bunch of supporters having the most mental knee jerk reactions and not realising what size of club we actually are and that we're a selling club, always have been, always will be.

The majority of fans in Burrows replies tonight clearly don't understand the amount of tickets given to us is based on a percentage of the stadium and even though he's explained that there's still fans demanding more or that we give them the same allocation. The man has the patience of a saint.

Initially I was thinking "great 5-1 against some amateur team" but on further inspection it seems they are in the Austrian second division, which seems like a decent result if nothing to get too worked up about.

I thought the same, that it was some random local junior team. Especially given there wasn't much said about the match beforehand. I know it's "only" pre-season and you can take everything that happens in pre-season with a pinch of salt but they finished 9th in the Austrian second League so in the good old fashioned supporter way, I'll take it as a start to blow out of proportion only to get beat 3-0 by Partick in the next game and for our season to be declared over before it's even had a chance to start properly 😅😂

    It's good to be back!

I got into football in the early nineties and I was a goalkeeper. So I was well aware of Scotlands number 1. His ridiculous shot stopping ability despite not hitting 6 foot was incredible the man was some sort of contortionist witch.

2 games stick out for me the champions league game against Leeds and euro 96 against Holland. Then there are the countless games where he broke people's hearts most famously Tommy Burns as Celtic manger.

People die at a young age far to regularly but this one struck a chord perhaps because he was one of my earliest footballing memories.

I found this from the bizarre loan move to Manu Utd. He got a league medal out of it and noise up Roy Keane into the bargain.

Moving from Motherwell to Man Utd and winning an English Premiership medal, something else no one will match him in being able to do....unless Ten Haag takes the notion to buy a big Dutch shithouse striker who can pickup up 12 yellow cards without even trying.

Apparently he was the only Scotsman to be an international at both cricket and football.

ETA: As was almost immediately pointed out by Zen Archer (Raconteur)

That's some achievement that I don't see being matched for a long long time, if ever. It just adds to the legend of him being an elite sportsman.

You're doing John Collins a disservice there, great save on the line from him ;)

Probably the only one Goram missed in that game. Some keeper.

I've been lucky enough to see Niemi and Gordon but that save from van Hoojidonk. Bloody hell.

Motherwell to Man Utd will never happen again. Seems mad now but Goram was definitely up there as one of the best goalies in the world at one point.

    And a fine cricketer too!

Did he not actually get capped for Scotland a few times? I know he played at county level but I'm sure I read years ago that he also played for Scotland a handful of times. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of that.

  9. Absolutely horrendous news. Far far too young. I saw him play many times against us as well as a few times live when he played for us. We could all list off so many saves he made at club and country level but for me personally, I'll always remember when he made a save from a Larsson header at Celtic Park and to this day how he kept it out I will never know. He's without a doubt the best goalkeeper this country has and will ever produce.

    RIP "The Goalie".

Last seasons generic, Livi-esque effort was poor, and don't see it being black again. I do like a crisp white effort, with simple but well done claret and amber detail.

Purely because both our kits are made by Macron I could see us maybe having something similar to the Crystal Palace away kit. I'm not saying I want that as the away kit, but I can just see it happening. The fact Palace are sponsored by Cinch is just an added bonus 😅

I don't think us mere mortals appreciate how fit and strong you've got to be at this level.

    Case in point: Sherwinator

Any normal walk of life he's a beefcake. On the pitch, he's the skinny winger who needs to be stronger on the ball.

(As an aside, is Sherwin Seedorf still even in the game?)

Last I saw, he had a trial but never got offered a contract by some Czech team last year.
