  1. We’ve arrived early at the car park, there are certainly more folk milling around than normal, a wee queue to get in the turnstiles at 2.05 is not usual.
  2. Beautiful morning over in Edinburgh, hope it’s the same in Cowdenbeath, and we get a good crowd that all the hard work done by the organisers deserve. Game in Musselburgh first, then a bit of a dash up the bypass to get over, a day full of football, canny beat it.
  3. Give it a listen Coo fans, great interview with Craig, he comes across like a seasoned veteran. ️
  4. Oh nice try at deflecting the facts, but that won’t wash. By letting the B team rent your stadium your club were facilitating a b team. I am sure if Rangers hadn’t thrown their toys out the pram and withdrawn from the LL they would still be there, as you seem to need a tenant to make ends meet. I’m sure you bleated and moaned on the internet about it, but hey, money is money Lets talk about the numerous old firm youngsters you have had over the years, including 2 I think at present from, Rangers? No doubt at a very cheap or no cost to your club. Common at many clubs at your level of course, especially in the west of Scotland, but an undeniable fact it’s a nice wee deal for your club. So one way or another, your club is certainly taking the old firm boaby, in a number of different positions it would seem.
  5. Good stuff, yeah it’s been pretty miserable since yesterday morning but before that there hasn’t been too much rain of late. The drainage at Central Park seems pretty decent these days so hopefully no issues, and think the rain should clear from this evening.
  6. You’re a really shit troll mate, no humour or style to your efforts at all. It’s not a surprise on Clyde threads to see the fans of your own team think you’re a complete w****r as well, even Jimmy Choo is better thought of than you, and that takes some doing.
  7. I tend to watch the action from the back of the terracing at Central Park, no fence obstruction from that viewpoint. It’s great to be able to stroll around the ground, watch some from the terracing and maybe move to the stand if the weather is a bit iffy. Anyway, I have no wish to distract further from the thread, should be a decent game tomorrow.
  8. Was merely correcting a misconception about Spartans ground. I think it’s a decent place to watch a match, and come on man, I was left an open goal about being able to watch from 4 sides of the ground. If you don’t rate AP I don’t know if you have been to the new Meadowbank yet, just wait till you get that to experience next season.
  9. I hadn’t realised until recently through reading the forum how incredibly touchy you guys have become, can’t even accept some mild ribbing. .
  10. I think some of you are a bit mixed up. Spartans play next to a leisure centre, and share a car park with, but their ground is separate and fully enclosed. I believe the ground is owned by the Spartans Community Association, which is not the club itself, but close links, and they have just invested in a new small stand on the opposite side to the main stand. You can also watch the match from 4 different sides of the ground if you wish, something you guys might find a novelty, eh?
  11. Yep, been raining pretty much nonstop in Edinburgh since breakfast time, and more tomorrow. A postponement would not be unexpected I would say. Would that be good/bad/indifferent for Clyde?
  12. With crowds as low as they are, surely 9 games out of 10 nearby street parking is more than sufficient. Was at a game a couple of months back and plenty parking in a council office (I think) car par on the west side of the ground, plenty room for away fans bus as well.
  13. In case any programme collectors interested there is an Ayr Utd v Cowdenbeath programme on EBay from 1947/48. £100 starting bid, I imagine this is an extremely rare issue these days. Seller has a nice wee stash of older Ayr items.
  14. Yeah, it was a professional performance from the team, Uni created one or two chances again in the second half, but we should have been out of sight earlier. Their goalie had a few excellent saves as well. My crowd head count was 90 give or take a few, two thirds Cowden fans I’m sure.
  15. Should be further ahead than 1-0, though they have had a couple of chances as well. Half of them seem to be a bunch of rugby players masquerading as footballers, tall and athletic but nae football ability.
  16. Automatic promotion from the Highland and Lowland League would be great, but not at the price of having Old firm, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen B teams well established in the League system within the next decade, because that would be inevitable.
  17. So wait a minute, according to some it’s the worse thing that ever happened in football for the B teams to be allowed in the LL with no progression for them to go up or down, but it would be ok to give them a route where automatic promotion is possible?
  18. No excuse for me not to be as I could probably walk there in about 40 minutes from the house. Depending on the play off saga, this will very likely be the last trip for Cowden to a unique and friendly place to watch a game of fitba. And cake, very good cake.
  19. While the East Kilbride fans are a decent bunch, I think my view is shared by fans of a lot of LL clubs in that we just want them gone, so please take them. It doesn’t mean that there might not be another team or two in the queue that will attempt to overspend their way out the LL, but probably not to the extent that East Kilbride has. To be replaced by Clyde, for example, would be a great swap in terms of travelling fans. I suppose the same would apply to Bonnyrigg coming back down, but I still feel ill every time I think of that place, so stay up Rose.
  20. How would that work with the signing deadline long passed? Albion release him so he’s a free agent and EK scoop him up? Seems really wrong:
  21. I know what you mean, we were great to watch in the first half. If we could have got another goal or two first half (which our play merited) , could have turned the style on second half and avoided the nerves. I get the current trend of winding the clock down and playing the ball to the corners near the end, but it seems to be starting earlier and earlier in games, we started doing in nearly 10 minutes from the end. Thoughts on Gala goalkeeper Jay Cantley anyone? Full disclosure, we know Jay a little bit, he has coached my daughter at times over the years, though not recently due to his job now. If we need a new keeper next year, would love to see Jay play for Cowden.
  22. It was the big captain Liam Watt that got the Gala goal, it was a quality finish. That boy loves a sweary word or two though.
  23. Second half was a lot more difficult than it should have been, we were over elaborate when the chances were there. Passed up a number of opportunities second half, just seemed to make the wrong decision each time. A bit squeaky bum time last 10 minutes but overall felt we deserved the win though, Gala goalie Jay Cantley getting man of the match would back that up.
  24. Great first half performance at 2-0, could easily have been 5 or 6, some good saves from Gala keeper Jay Cantley. Early scare giving the penalty away, which I thought was the correct decision, rash challenge, Josh saved well with his legs.
