  1. I know that Caley Braves have no fans, but their concept of letting fans on an app, that anyone could download, steer the clubs direction one way or another remains completely bizarre to me.
  2. The scoreline was a bit embarrassing in the end, but we continued to try and play football, perhaps naively. Three of the first 4 goals were directly from slack passing out of defence, this has been haunting us last few weeks. EK are a class side though, when you can chuck on Balde and Robertson for example when cruising at 4-0, it’s pretty easy. That’s what a half million budget will get you though.
  3. Thought we were the better team until yet another slack pass gifted EK the lead. I’ve lost count of these types of goals now. Second was a well worked goal. Poor crowd, just shows that any of these cup competitions fail to generate much interest.
  4. That may have been your experience some years back but you are miles off if you think the gulf is huge anymore between the poor teams in league 2 and the better ones in the LL. Spartans and Bonnyrigg have proven that by comfortably existing in League 2 without massive personnel changes at the time they came up. On the flip side, Albion Rovers came down with some of the squad from last year and have struggled for the most part. Cowdenbeath even more so the year before, though we had a completely new squad thrown together haphazardly so slightly different from Rovers. If you guys come down (and I still believe you could get out from 10th) with that attitude you will be in for a massive shock. If you do come down and have someone willing to chuck huge amounts at it (the parachute payment won’t go all that far) in the first season in the LL you might stand a chance of getting out again quickly, I wouldn’t bet on it.
  5. I must admit I have warmed a little bit to Mick in recent times. My views at the start of the season were based round your game at Gala in the late summer that I was at. EK absolutely pounded Gala, but even when the score was 5-1 (going on about 10) Mick was up and down the touchline in an overly theatrical manner like it was tied in the last minute of a cup final. Maybe he was playing a bit to the crowd behind him in the stand. He always seems polite with folks on Twitter, even when they are trying to get a rise out of him (I might have been guilty of that on one occasion ) and comes across quite well. As for how good a manager he is, who really knows given he seems to be blessed with money following him everywhere he goes. Would he do as good a job with Strollers as Gary Jardine has with the budget CSS have? It impossible to measure how good a manager he really is, other than things like whether his players and staff like him and rate him as a coach.
  6. If you’re hoping for a reply from a Colts fan you might wait a while, not exactly the most active thread round these parts….
  7. Anything less than promotion this season is failure for EK, so there is some pressure to get it over the line. They still need to prove they can gel all these players together, but have plenty time to do that, and I agree that this is their time.
  8. Tranent have appointed a Director of Football. Yes, you heard that right, a Lowland League club need a Director of Football.
  9. So the club have managed to open the vault again to sign Balde on a permanent transfer from Arbroath. As much as Balde has probably always wanted to play for East Kilbride since he was a nipper (or at least when he became aware they existed six months ago and are awash with money) I doubt he is taking a salary drop to leave Arbroath, who pay their players pretty well for a part time team. Wonder what ratio of wages to turnover that is now?. I’d have said maybe 700% before this, probably 800% now.
  10. Something has been vexing me since I read this in the Cowdenbeath History part 1. How did Johnny McGauchey, signed by Cowden in 1901 manage to head in his own cross?. Presumably some crazy windy conditions like we seem to have constantly at the moment held the ball up long enough to dash in?
  11. I always seem to manage to be away when the closest fixtures to my house are played, so look forward to hearing about it as well. Very threadbare squad today looking at the lineup.
  12. Bizarre goings on, having offloaded top earner Liam Buchanan a couple of months go he is back, presumably Bonnyrigg are kindly paying him not to play for them.
  13. Must be (very) late injury/illness because unless my mind is playing tricks with me I got a tweet with Craig in the starting lineup and Josh on the bench, that has now been replaced.
  14. Not really getting that. Under both scenarios you have given examples of, they were able to afford their squad at that point, it’s only with the withdrawal of the previous owner subsidising the club that they are not now able to. Whether you agree with the business model of that time is not really the point. I don’t know if any of the HMRC issues relate back that far, you would think not. Even if they did it is up to the new owners to have done their due diligence on the financial situation they were taking on. If anything was hidden or not disclosed by the previous owner then the new ones would have legal recourse.
  15. I do wish Andy Rodden would stop getting himself sent off.
  16. Something tells me that Cowden Cowboy might be just a teeny weeny bit better informed about that facts than you are, but crack on.
  17. Can they not just make the league game at Forthbank in two weeks time count for both the league and LL cup.
  18. You were shown up last night to be a moron, but instead of taking even 12 hours off to cool off and re-group, here you are doubling down instead. Can I just quote you on your first line and I will leave it there; ‘There was no confusion, I was mistaken’
  19. Yes, the slice bread boy has had a ‘mare, but there’s no humility with this lad.
  20. George Fraser was the chairman when B teams were admitted first in 21/22. Click here; https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11787/12297941/rangers-and-celtic-b-teams-invited-to-enter-scottish-lowland-football-league-season You are discredited. You are an idiot.
  21. Once more, a lot of hot air and absolutely nothing to say. You’re all over the place, take a break and log off for a bit.
  22. You don’t half spend a lot of time typing up long posts repeating the same things. You have no evidence of corruption whatsoever, you have presented some ideas that could be considered as people acting in self interest, that is all. Corruption is a strong accusation, you should really take your concerns to a higher body, except you have no evidence at all.
