  1. When you take the emotion out of the Spoony release you can see why its been done. With Cammy and Max coming through (and Ferguson behind them) there are only limited spaces for attacking midfield positions. The age of the squad needs to come down and we want to see young players coming through so whilst its a gutter it kind of makes sense. We’ll be putting a lot on Cammy and Max shoulders next year I imagine…
  2. I get folks reservations about Macca being the continuity candidate but to me he has shown over the last few weeks: A willingness to change/adapt system and play players in their preferred positions A willingness to give youth a chance A much more savvy handling of the media with far more positive interviews A huge amount of passion for the role Clearly has the backing of the players For those reasons I think its a good appointment, far better than any if the more experienced names doing the rounds. It’s a risk for sure, he’ll be handed a rebuilding job and we’re going to have to have some faith he gets it right, but our record with rookie managers is excellent. Has my full backing.
  3. That’s the thing though isn’t it - Davidson threw the players under the bus so often rather than take reaponsibility himself, it’s not a surprise they are biting back now.
  4. He’s improved massively with Philips alongside him, and with a run of games. he looks decent now and if he and phillips are our first pick CM’s next season I dont have an issue with that.
  5. According to my jambo mates Neilson is another round pegs in square holes manager - plays players out of natural position all the time. Callum mk2. No thanks.
  6. I have a season ticket (and have had for a long time) and haven’t been to a game since Dec. I live in Edinburgh and have zero motivation to drag myself to Perth on a Saturday afternoon. I don’t even miss my St Johnstone fix. I’ll probably go to Livi on Saturday as it’s a 20 minute drive and convenient but I honestly can’t see me being back this season for a league game at McD and feel pretty sure I won’t be renewing. It’s not like I can’t get a ticket for any game I would want individually, and there is almost zero entertainment value that justifies shelling out for an ST. Been spending my Saturday’s going to watch ice hockey instead - ticket £11 and guaranteed 2.5 hours of great sport and entertainment. My partner and I can get a season ticket each for the ice hockey next season and have money left over for a nice meal and a few beers, for the cost of oneSt Johnstone ST. And that’s really the thing isn’t it. There are far better, more entertaining things to spend money on than watching St Johnstone just now. We have lost our character and everything that has made us who we are over the last 20 years or so. I can’t even imagine myself feeling this or considering anything like this before. What a mess we’re in.
  7. Callachan likes to think he’s a thug when he is in fact just a shitebag
  8. Fwiw I still think Carey has plenty to offer us - he was great in the early part of the season but the enforced shift in to a DM position, where he is not suited at all, seems to have destroyed his confidence.
  9. True. I would like to keep Halberg and I’m sure he’ll be offered a deal but expect he will end up in EFL1 or something for double his wages with us. would be happy to see max and spoony competing for that spot. Feel a bit sorry for murphy as he’s looked ok but fallen out the picture ao imagine he’ll be away.
  10. The advance role Halberg plays in a 3 (with cammy and Dan as the others)?
  11. I imagine we are still paying a chunk of his wages and the maximum fine possible will be coming his way.
  12. Yeah agree with this - nobody looks good here. I think Eetu comes across as a bit of a fanny who has thrown toys out if the pram tbh. Were the rumours of fisticuffs with one of the coaches ever confirmed…?
  13. Very true. Really unfair on the laddie as he plays wherever he’s asked and give his all, but as a defensive right back with a winger in front of him he would be a really effective player imo
  14. Meh. Really felt for Brown today, he’s not an lcb and was getting caught out a few times on the wrong foot. Not his fault at all and I like him, but if we don’t have 3 fit cb’s can we please play 4 at the back (or just play 4 anyway)
  15. This is excellent news as I expect to see our midfield 3 next season of phillips, macpherson and Max.
  16. I see Livi are in for Deas. Surely, SURELY we are in there too trying to make that signing. Absolutely fits the bill for us, and lives in Perth (I think). The club can’t be daft enough to let that one pass us by. Make it happen Saints.
  17. We really do need to be getting a new contract in front of Dan now, clearly bags of talent and everything you look for in a midfielder. With his levels of performance we could end up losing him on the cheap this summer or walking away on a free next which would be madness. Get him on an extension now before he starts attracting serious attention and we have a really good selllable asset for the future.
  18. That’s what I was thinking, surely Geoff’s health isn’t up to this for any length of time, and it would make more sense for Steve to keep control until a buyer is found?
  19. I think Brown gets an unfair bad rap. He’s been played in about 3 different positions that are not his natural role, and as a defensive minded right back in a 4 he could do pretty well with a run of games there. He’s maybe played that role 2/3 times for us?
  20. Couldn’t make today - dread to think what the atmosphere will be like after that start!
