What is this "wisdom of David Hopkin" the commentator is talking about?

Big Dunc seemed upset and red carded after the final whistle. No idea what gripe he had with ref but poor show for ignoring the Airdrie bench.
Two red cards in just over three weeks seems like it must be some kind of record for a manager.

Solid result, another clean sheet, and everyone below us lost today. Happy new year.

Was that Muirhead with his head and both feet? What a guy.

Another undefeated December - Imrie has never lost a league game in this month.
Looking at the form table for the last 10 games, we're somehow in third behind Dundee Utd and Raith Rovers. It's a close league and we've done well to get ourselves back in the mix.
More impressive is conceding only 8 goals in those last ten games, second only to Utd. We've been pretty solid since Mullen went back in goal and three clean sheets on the bounce is a good reward, especially with a fourth only denied by a meaningless injury time goal in a game already won against Caley.
Curious to see what January brings. Would like to keep Wilson and Strapp for the rest of the season, though don't know how likely the latter is. The Wilson one is unusual - seen as a fairly underwhelming loan at the start of the season. That likely justified being able to leave QoS for a higher league with little expectation of playing a key role, but he has been playing well lately and is a decent, though unremarkable, championship midfielder - something QoS would surely want.

Just as well Imrie's interview with us was a failure
His own fault for being unable to name all of the towns twinned with Inverness.

Very risky of McIntyre to empty the bench of outfield players at half time. Any injuries second half and Ali Adamβs will have to come on outfield.

Wasn't the most thrilling watch but we looked solid enough and thought we looked most likely to score (how long that would've taken is another question, though).
Happy with 10 points from the last 12 and two clean sheets in a row is a positive after the start of the season. I like Mullen in goal and hope he continues to start.

For me this is looking clear cut.
I've not read much of the thread so don't know which uni you're at, but we've stopped reporting seemingly obvious cases because the conduct assessors don't seeΒ anything as clear cut and it's all just a waste of our time. Unless the students leave the "Certainly! Let's look..." stuff in - although even then the penalties are laughable. Frustrating knowing they're getting away with chancing it, but most of the answers tend to be crap anyway.

reckon Strapp either stays at Morton or goes up a league
I expected him to move up despite his injury and was surprised we picked him up again first. He's been great since he returned though and maybe that'll be enough to get him that move.
Can't see us paying both him and Waters a first team wage for one of them to sit on the bench though. There's a strange conflict of interest with his agent also being our chairman, though, so who knows...

Ref was shite.

Less satisfying when it's not against Dodds but a win is a win.

Strapp was always going to be diplomatic in how he answers questions like that. He's not going to say he was released because he was facing long term injury, because Imrie thought he was poor in training, because Imrie thought he wasn't good enough for the first team, because the club couldn't afford his demands, etc - he's not going to say anything to potentially devalue himself as he waited for his next professional contract. He said the minimum he needed to say to answer that question pragmatically.
I don't think Strapp or even the sham journalist who reported his words could've imagined that completely mundane answer turning into a conspiracy theory where someone pretends to boycott Cappielow and comes up with a fantasy story where MCT throws Imrie under the bus, forces him to play youth players, and bring back Strapp.

Sources close to the club have revealed that Strapp was signed to encourage DreamOakTree1 to end his Cappielow boycott in the hopes that, not only will he return, but he'll pick the squad too.

Who else might we have realistically signed? There's a lack of available quality at this level and our limited budget precludes us from purchasing players under contract or offering the kind of wages that would've enabled us to hold on to the likes of Grimshaw when faced with other offers.Β We were after a defensive back at the same time as Ayr and the best they came up with was the mince that made his league debut against us in the opening match of the season.

A supporter whoβs side signed and is playing Steven Boyd is saying we have a worse side than them.
How far we have fallen
There's a common detail in supposedly crap players leaving Caley to go elsewhere and start scoring goals but I can't quite put my finger on it.

It seems quite unusual to loan a player from a lower league, but QoS seem to have a fairly large squad and we lack depth. Not terribly excited by Wilson but not bothered either - he did alright after he got settled and his goal against Dunfermline on that Friday night game was memorable, if just for how bad the goalkeeping was.

And us, too.
It seems that "championship-quality full back" is this season's "championship-quality striker" that several teams were pining for last year. That so many other teams are trying to fill this position (and seemingly competing for players like Partick and Arbroath) suggests there's just not enough quality readily available and the few who are can hold out for a higher wage.

Would we be able to replace him with someone of the same quality?
If there were players demonstrably as good as, but cheaper than, Crawford, then the teams allegedly interested in him would sign them instead. We aren't in a position to pay more than that for players who might turn out to be crap. If he goes it's a loss, moreso for depth in an already small squad.
Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but this story just seems like his agent trying to drum up a bit of interest after a good start to the season. It's difficult to imagine anyone else going public about his 'cheap' release clause and if there was actually genuine interest in paying it then the story would be about an accepted offer instead.

We look a lot better than last season, at this stage last year we were a complete shambles and it dragged on to christmas.
At this stage last year you won every game in your league cup group, conceded only one goal in doing so, and disposed of the same St Mirren that pumped you a fortnight ago.
We'll take your word that there's an improvement in being beaten by Forfar and needing penalties to beat Cowdenbeath.
The league cup group stage could, of course, be entirely meaningless - but apparently your win against Montrose restored the "natural order" in Angus, so we'll trust your fans that it does, in fact, matter.
