100% mate. I obviously don't know how he is in training but he is absolutely honking on the pitch. I thought we might have landed on a talented player with possible sell-on potential (provided that we extended his contract) when we signed him but I was wrong. He is now in the extend his contract or leave him out of the squad zone and I think the latter would benefit the team more.

I hope you're right. I think (anyone noticed how many times Davidson says "I think" in his interviews? If someone invented a drinking game, we would all be pissed) we have signed enough players to give the team a fighting chance for the remainder of the season. I'm still sad to see the way Spong was released, though.

What (slightly) amazes me is that apparently the guy had been training with the team for two weeks and not one bit of rumour/news leaked.

This is what I could make of our starting eleven today. Can the people at the match please clarify which formation we're playing today?

I think he'll go with a 4-4-1-1 again. I wouldn't be surprised if he pairs Wilson (if he's match fit) with Thomson again at the back, although with Welsh missing and Spong gone, Thomson seems to be the only player we have to play in the number 6 position. I would like to see Dom on either of the wings and Turner/McKinstry playing as no 10. We'll see. I'm curious too.

McKinstry needs clear marching orders. That is all. You can easily see the quality he possesses every time he picks up the ball but then he doesn't know what to do with it.

Considering the club's history of transparency and communication, I guess we never will. Although he had gone through the Brighton FC academy setup before joining Queen's Park, he was an outstanding example of the "project". I don't know man... Loan him to another club, give him a leave of absence, or sell him for a hundred quid but don't just release him for free.

Releasing Spong is just mad. He's got huge potential. Possibly our best player so far in this nightmare of a season. I'm very disappointed. That's a terrible terrible piece of business.

I'm sorry, I don't claim to be an expert in reading team formations on the pitch but why do people seem to think that we've played with a back three in variations of 3-5-2 or 5-3-2? I thought we were using a 4-4-1-1 formation with Dom playing behind Paton.

It truly amazes me to watch different managers still trying to play Dom Thomas in the centre as a number 10 or a second striker when he is arguably the best winger in the entire Championship. We immediately need to sign an experienced centre back to release Jack Thomson back into the midfield as a number 8 (again arguably one of the best in the Championship), so that Jack Turner can play higher where he's strongest, and Dom can resume dominating the wing(s). And of course another striker. That's it! That's all we need.

His problem is his attitude and lack of purpose. If he had been given a 3-year contract with a clear direction and a defined role/position within the first team, he has the potential to be our best player. You can easily see his class & technique every time he touches the ball but once he's got the ball he doesn't know what to do with it
