  1. The most recent interpretation of the handball, I think, is whether the hand is blocking a shot towards the goal, (intentionally or not). At the game, I thought it was a bit harsh too but I just watched the highlights and it's a clear penalty.
  2. The events that led up to the 87th min booking of Ferrie sums up the standard of refereeing in the game. I think that incompetent assistant was thinking that he was in a premiership match with VAR.
  3. What did you think of Jack Thomson's performance in midfield in against Arbroath? I thought we didn't use him at all and through no fault of his own, the play almost passed him by. That makes me wonder if Davidson would use him at the back again against Airdrie.
  4. One other thing I've been telling myself since last night's game: Alex Bannon has turned out to be a class act. He is what they call "the best signing of the season" when one of your own players really steps up his game and earns a permanent spot in the starting eleven. He has the pedigree and the potential to become our very own bandiera.
  5. I'm obviously over the moon after last night's result but I don't think it could be used as a yardstick. Arbroath were absolutely tragic and they should be seen as an exception to the competition we have in the league. Any team that can't claim all three points from them (home/away) in the rest of the season should hang their heads in shame (including us in our next game against them). It's not like they had a really bad day, they just don't belong in the Championship this season. Saturday's game against Airdrie is a proper yardstick. I'd settle for a goalless draw but if we can claim all three points, we stay in this league.
  6. I had a wee chat with Keith (the prophet) at half time and he said it would be 6. Fantastic night for Queen's Park. I'm sorry for Arbroath fans. Best of luck in the rest of the season but I think you guys know what's coming.
  7. You are right but I'm not nervous. It will most definitely go down to the wire but I'm sure we'll survive this season. We have a good team now, we are defending much better and we have options on the bench. And I trust Davidson. I remember checking the league tables of the previous seasons and a ~1,1 points average per game is almost always enough to stay up. That means we need 15 points in the remaining 11 matches. We'll play Arbroath & Airdrie twice and I think we're perfectly capable of getting at least 9 points from them. That leaves a deficit of 6 points from 7 matches. I think we'll be alright and either Airdrie or Inverness will finish 9th Btw wouldn't it be just magnificent to beat Airdrie and push them into the 9th spot in the last game of the season at Hampden?
  8. I'm not going to argue with you mate. He'll be gone and forgotten in a couple of months and you and I will still be here for the banter.
  9. Watch his first interview after he signed and listen to everything he says about himself and why he signed for the club. He has been looking to get match fit, get some first team minutes under his belt and sign for a "bigger" club since day one. He doesn't want to stay because he hasn't extended his contract and you can tell from the way he's coasting on the pitch. I don't know why people keep asking the same question to me. These are my speculations based purely my impression of him since (and again in the manner) he signed and that he hasn't extended his contract (yet). I don't have some kind of inside information on whether or not he wants to stay or feels he's too good for us. I'm sorry if I gave that impression. I don't know if Davidson is even interested in extending his contract. That's just how I feel about him.
  10. I said if.. And that has been my impression of him since (and in the manner) he signed with us and in every single game I watched him play. Mental? If you say so.
  11. I'm not sad about today's result, not in the slightest. For me the biggest news of the week has been Ferrie extending his contract for another 3 years and I'm still chuffed about it.
  12. He should have been left out of the squad weeks ago. Very poor attitude. Out of contract in 3 months and is not interested in staying. If he feels he's too good for us (he would be wrong), let him train with the B Team and f**k right off
  13. Thomson at the back three again. Longridge in midfield with Turner in front of Welsh. I think this is our strongest defensive 11. I hope Davidson's plan works.
  14. I enjoy the madness of the championship but honking refereeing tonight at Thistle game.
  15. I believe this is exactly what he was signed for and if he does that I'll place the traffic cone on his head myself.
  16. I just hope Sheridan & Co help keep us stay up this season and leave quietly in June so that we can invest in better players for next season under Davidson.
  17. I don't know, are they? I usually use the ignore user feature for individual idiots, not entire fans of teams. Key words include Gretna, diddy, tinpot, and the good old crowdwanking.
  18. PA: Please do not feed the troll. The "ignore" list is a fantastic feature. Use it.
  19. I've decided not to look at let alone post anything on the Morton vs QP match day threads from now on. What a bunch of wankers!
  20. I was finally able to see Davidson's 5-3-2 in action in the Morton Game. I think the back three are working very well and I'm very happy to see Tizzard playing as the anchor/libero in between the other two. Thomson has assumed the ball-playing role and Bannon is the stopper. All of this, I think is playing really well to the strengths of each of the three. When Wilson is fully fit, I think he will play in Thomson's position and if/when Fox comes back, he may/will play in Bannon's. The wing backs are still a work in progress although I think McPherson played a good game both defensively and offensively until he was substituted. The new signing Josh Scott looks very strong physically but he was unable to support the attacks from the left flank, which I believe was due to Mckinstry's lack of... well... purpose. That being said, Welsh is doing a brilliant job as no 6 but the two midfielders we have in front of him (Turner and Mckinstry) are not linking up at all. We have seen time and time again number 8 is not Turner's strongest position so if we can release Thomson back into the midfield as a no 8, Turner can play more forward and link up with Dom and Ruari. His high-pressing is also very good so we may chase after more second balls. Dom and Ruari up front... I don't know man. Ruari is an excellent poacher in the box but he's not the kind of centre forward who can pick up and redistribute long balls with his back to the opposition. His pressing is good but not enough when Dom drops deeper into the midfield immediately after we lose the ball. Sorting out what we do with/without the ball in the second and third zones is the manager's job and I think we will see an improvement very soon. Last but not least, CALUM FUCKING FERRIE all the way man. What a player! The board must do everything they can to tie him down for at least another two years.
