  1. I can't believe we won! I can say we deserved it because for the first time in months we showed some teeth. Very happy for the lads. I spoke to Savoury and Fox at half time. Grant looked very positive and said he should be fit enough to play in two months. Charlie said he would be out for a month and looked very disappointed. They said they were "staying strong for each other"
  2. That linesman who called this offside should never be allowed inside a stadium.
  3. Ruari's disallowed goal. Cammy is on side by miles. The state of refereeing in this match was horrendous.
  4. I was screaming offside at the stadium for the second goal but now I can't even bother watching the highlights to see if it was. Even if it had been offside, we would have found another excuse to concede the second.
  5. Two shots on target today (apart from the penalty). We deserve to be relegated.
  6. Alright alright I'm issuing a self-imposed ban on myself from this thread for three days You guys keep up the banter.
  7. This one is a bit tricky for me. I've lived in Glasgow only for 9 years and attended my first QP game at Hampden just before Covid hit, I think. I come from a country where you can go to football matches and lose your sense of hearing permanently. I was at the Fenerbahçe game when Beşiktaş fans broke the world record for the loudest decibel level ever recorded at a football ground (132 decibels). Sometimes I miss the roar and the chaos and the endless singing but to be honest with you, I feel much safer here and enjoy what I see on the pitch more. That being said, I agree that we are too quiet. There are a number of reasons for this and I'm not going to repeat what other people said here previously. I just want to say I love a good chant and will try to join as much as I can from now on.
  8. I have a BA in linguistics and a master's degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages but feel free to correct me, sir This is the Internet, after all.
  9. I understand the reference to our nomadic existence and subsistence on "sloppy seconds" but gypsy is considered a pejorative term. The preferred term is Romany or Romani, which I still wouldn't use in this comparison.
  10. I'm aware we are all angry and frustrated but there is no need for this kind of language, sir.
  11. If we can't beat Morton on Saturday, we will be in complete freefall. I fear the worst is still to come.
  12. I am perfectly aware that we have a very small number of fans. This should make us a rare and precious commodity in the eyes of the board but it doesn't. I have learned to ignore "crowdwanking" from fans of other teams in the Championship when they say "youse have nae fans". It doesn't bother me when they ignore and belittle us but it really hurts when our board does it too.
  13. You are probably right and that's probably the case. The whole "confidentiality" aspect of these appointments & contracts is something I will never understand in Scottish football. I'm simply not used this secrecy and I hate that it's being taken so much for granted here. There can be no accountability without full transparency. And if supporters can't hold their board accountable, they are mere spectators, not supporters.
  14. That's not what I mean. I completely understand permanent recruitment negotiations not being made public at this stage. I meant the absence of communication from the club about Beuker's & Veldman's departure. Did the club get any compensation from Ajax? If yes, how much? Did Veldman resign or was he fired? If so, is he getting any compensation/severance? Are there any temporary assignments as regards to who will be taking the team to Morton this Saturday?
  15. Once again, not lack but complete absence of communication, transparency, and accountability from the club is incredibly frustrating.
  16. Scott Brown, or Stuart Kettlewell if we can buy his contract and lure him to the Championship. I'm not familiar with all of the names being spoken. I moved to Scotland only 9 years ago. That's why I said "I would like to think..."
  17. We can have both... to a certain extent. The "model" is the only way a professional Queen's Park can survive and be sustainable in the future considering the fact that the largest home crowd we can consistently attract is around 1000. So it's either the model, or back to Ludere Causa Ludendi (which I'm totally fine with btw). And the best thing about having that model is that it can keep working in the background while a proper manager can get results on the pitch with the first team, which does not necessarily have to be the direct product of the model. That being said and now that the Dutch Duo is gone, can I just say that my recent thoughts about their appointment have been leaning towards the sheer arrogance of it? Who do you think you are to come here and teach Queen's Park, the club which basically invented the game, how to play football? The more I think about it, the angrier I get. I hope the club doesn't pull another stunt like this because I would like to think we have plenty of managerial talent and skill in this country.
  18. Veldman finally out before doing any more damage. Best news I've heard for a long time. Like an early Christmas present.
  19. So we're all sitting in the southwest stand? Again? I thought they would listen to the fans and place visiting fans in the southeast section after the Raith Rovers game. They never listen, do they?
  20. Hi guys! I'm really sorry if this has been addressed or discussed before but something has been on my mind for a while. Do you have any idea why the avatar/profile picture for Ochilview Park in Google maps is the Israeli flag (and has been for a long time)?
