  1. Not officially but that was implied when they listed the players they wouldn't make an offer to. Hallberg won't stay though.
  2. We're likely to see a petty backlash from Rangers & Celtic now because of this aren't we? The Old Firm ticket tit for tat you ticket nonsense evidence that they're unable to act without throwing the toys out the pram. They've not got what they wanted so when it comes to something that'll benefit the wider group they'll vote it down. It's honestly mental that after all the conversations about league construction ANOTHER LEAGUE was the idea put forward and lobbied for by the SPFL.
  3. Remember the serial blocker sjfcnews? He's now paying for a blue tick on Twitter
  4. If we're currently being priced out of the market for the likes of Deas then fine. As long as we don't go down the route of then settling for the likes of Ash Taylor or similar journeyman. Go the other route. Younger players released from down south who've something to prove. Like MOH etc. They're likely to be hungry and keen to prove what they can do. It worked well for us in the past.
  5. The apparent appeal of playing for your local team certainly wasn't very appealing anyway. Signed for Killie.
  6. https://twitter.com/StewartMRegan/status/1665465040550363136?t=RcaChT5PfaR3QogRYxwEOQ&s=19 "Limited budget". Indeed....
  7. I agree also. I do want us to try and get Kennedy though, whether he chooses us is a different question. He certainly won't be choosing us for the £ that's for sure. Can only be a football decision. Does he want to be playing under Mciness again? He'd be their replacement of Jordan Jones. I've been saying similar to friends. They're like "we need 6-7 signings.". We simply won't get that many for starters. I suspect in the central midfield area we'll try to get by with the young lads + Cammy & Phillips. Maybe Hallberg if he stays... He won't be though I don't think. I think the club's hope/plan is try and get 4 first team level players. A central defender, left winger, right back (2 if Brown leaves) and then maybe a left back depending on Gallagher being moved on. Then potentially a young loanee as a 4th central defender. That'll be the max in my eyes othe than potentially a few other random loanees. The challenge though is finding "first team level players" that are up to the standard required. The period of us picking up the likes of MOH, Kennedy & Swanson out of nowhere seem a distant memory now. (I see Mayo that the club tried to get in January is likely to be available again now). If we sign the likes of Pawlett and Smith I'll be disappointed though. Don't think either are up to it.
  8. Naturally I don't know for sure Macca's "vision" but hopefully he's able to express that and impress those who might be on the fence. I get the impression he's keen to play much more positive stuff - based on post split period anyway. If he can express that hopefully he'll be able to persuade the targets he wants. Hope we're after Kennedy again. While many other clubs are likely to show an interest as well hopefully the opportunity to be given the freedom off the left hand side to enjoy his football again might go a long way to persuade him. (No longer playing wing back)
  9. While the budget is going to be reducing allowing 7-8-9 to leave potentially frees up enough budget to make good offers to 2-3. Maybe higher wages then the norm for those 2-3 but it's potentially the difference between getting the key signing and missing out on it.
  10. The twitter community seems to think Deas is away to Killie.
  11. In your defence, there's employees who do it full time at some football clubs who evidently don't understand it either. Hence why clubs keep playing ineligible players etc!
  12. https://twitter.com/gregorsleith/status/1664644279057235968?t=Jp5I6AEK3u3LqM1sOdCLBA&s=19 Absolutely horrendous that this was seemingly not allowed prior. What a farce.
  13. I think Stan will have a broader remit but could certainly be argued a club of Saints size may not need a Head of Operations if they've got someone in the Chairman/CEO type role present full time as well. He's running the place day to day in the position of Brown Jr. Could all be done by Stan/board like it was for years prior. I can't see Brown Sr being involved in much decision making certainly not day to day operational ones, hence the "honorary" role. He's in his 80's.
  14. Yeah he's definitely a Celtic fan. That's why I made the point about him being keen for Saints to vote in Celtics favour.
  15. I was fortunate enough to meet him a number of times and share a few with him in his time with Saints first time round. I can't comment on his in the dressing room "good pro" side of things obviously but he did seemed a really nice guy!
  16. Yeah that's kinda what I mean by "who knows now." Different individuals top to bottom basically involved in the decision making now so could well go in a completely different direction than what we're used to seeing.
  17. If Saints were willing to offer 35 year old Andrew Considine a 2 year deal off the back of a 12 month injury lay off then I'm sure it won't be a problem to get Saints to offer him 2 years I do see it as very much as Saints type signing but who knows now.
  18. Will Guedi have much say on what Saints vote for in terms of this Conference League nonsense? I'd be concerned he'd pressure the club into voting for it as we all know where his football loyalties lie.
  19. I always presumed the Southend move was the result of his Dad burning the bridges with both Saints and Aberdeen with his excessive ask while thinking he'd get a offer near levels he was asking for and didn't. So that was the only other option.
  20. I'll be surprised if we get Deas. Stinks of Saints made an offer but signs for Motherwell for a few extra quid.
  21. https://twitter.com/SamuelPorritt04/status/1663916993181806594?t=oHi-F1lY8DFmvwN2QifRdg&s=19 Is that a massive hint?
