  1. The majority seem to like the split. It adds different excitement. We've got a weird playoff system as well. Do we scrap that because the Dutch and Italians don't do it? There is at least one other top League in Europe that does it and their option is muccccch more convoluted than ours. They don't scrap it because other leagues don't copy it. The issue here is "we want more teams in the League" but we also want better teams, more signings and a more competitive league. All those things aren't compatible. You reduce back to 10 to remove the split and still you'll be playing teams more than twice. You increase the teams in the league to lose the split, there's then more poorer sides in the league with less money across the board so twofold the quality decreases as well.
  2. I'm sure you're not alone. We've had quite a few exciting top 6 tun ins in the past so it's been exciting so I'm alright with it. Having the league without the split isn't possible with 12 sides anyway. The 4 fixtures are here to stay I imagine.
  3. Sportsound today saying a referee has claimed the issue with the Scottish VAR shambles is the training and direction being provided to them.
  4. Certainly something different. They'd need to get on with arranging it asap though. You'd think if it was to happen it would have been announced with it today though?
  5. Would prefer a Friday night for example then say Sunday. Could they go to 5:30 on the Saturday as well?
  6. I imagine so. Sky only pay the TV deal for those games. Premier Sports whole business model is based around showing their games. The majority support those two teams and the majority of their supporter turn their nose up towards every other team. "I'm not watching that shite"
  7. Been enjoyable for fans who've been involved in it over the years...
  8. The club's won't vote for it. The start up cost and running of it is probably prohibitive. Especially if they're aiming for something of a higher standard than the COVID service If it was a share revenue system at £10 a month then they'd need something like 500,000 subscribers every month to break even v TV deal. If it was every man for themselves, clubs run their own service then it's likely the smaller clubs wouldn't vote for it either due to it working out worse for them than than under current TV deal.
  9. What am I missing about the United game ticketing in relation to the Rangers game? I'm not seeing the link...
  10. Look at the positives. Big crowd a week on Saturday. Potentially a nice day... A win goes a long way to securing safety. Then I think... Oh... Another game on that pitch?
  11. Is it possible that there won't be any games the day of the bloody coronation? All the games on the Sunday....
  12. Was justtttt about to say similar. Are folk really this upset about having to wait till Tuesday? God forbid Wednesday? The suggestions that they should have been out at the weekend are wild. The SPFL isn't the Premier League in England. They've got the man power of your local co-op in terms of staff numbers. Folk have also correctly pointed out there's absolutely no way Police Scotland were going to expend effort on hypothetical fixture options. At best you would have received their hard-line no's in terms of what they were completely unwilling to accept, ie No Old Firm game X day/time etc. Sky more likely to be involved in suggestions in hypothetical situations. Where they'd want the Old Firm to fit into their schedule, not clashing with big games in England etc.
  13. A number of years ago he became a Specialist assistant referee or whatever they call it. Don't know that much about it but it basically meant he was focusing on only being an assistant and wasn't trying to become a referee. It's not really something you serve your time as an apprentice and then get promoted to potentially being the referee I don't think.
  14. He'd been planned to be at that game for quite a while. Was quite a while ago it was mentioned he was coming to that Hibs game, maybe even months ago now.
  15. Brown quoted in the courier saying Macca likely to be in charge until the summer.
  16. Another thing I'd taken away from yesterday was the use of Hallberg when he came on. In all his better performances for Saints he's played a role where he gets forward, arrives in the box with some good times runs etc. Looks like that's the role Macca played him in yesterday. Hopefully that wasn't simply because it was against 10 men. Hallberg is not very good deeper as we all know and is often a waste of a shirt so hopefully that's exclusively the role he plays for the remainder. I've got the feeling Macca is getting the job to the end of the season.
  17. Under Davidson there was a lot of first half's like that. Killie recently another example. On the subject of Rooney and headers. I know our corners have been discussed already but we really do make it easier to defend against. Especially from the right hand side the corners are not delivered in a way by MacPherson where they can likely be headed towards goal so require being knocked down basically meaning we need to win the ball twice at a corner to produce a decent shot on goal.
  18. I'm in agreement. None of this stills or "the line in the grass..." Live from my angle the red looked HORRENDOUS. Yet seeing it back it looked nothing like I thought it did!
  19. Met one of posters from twitter who was having the meltdown about Davidson being sacked. Think they were mentioned on here "you boo boys got him sacked" type stuff. Completely unwilling to talk positively about today. Did being against 10 men mask some of the poorer parts of the performance? Yeah probably? Did we show significantly more positively today than we have for months at home? Absolutely. That's basically all I ask. A bit of intent.
  20. Did indeed. Regardless of your views on these things. You're not taking your views from some shambles outside the East Stand are you?
  21. Much better in my opinion. While I don't think we should scream from the roof tops we at least had a bit of a go.
