  1. Unpopular opinion. Our fans don't fight to make atmosphere as Tynecastle is so noisy
  2. Hmm. I think my optimistic predictions of sheep and cabbage being roasted may be off the mark slightly. May well be the mighty JT's who are crying at the end of this.... Or an alternative TL is an absolute meltdown from one of the ugly sisters, but I can't see it happening. If anything I can see a record season in the offing for one or both of them
  3. I don't get the hate for Tom EnglishIrish. He's sensible and knows his stuff. Flaming pitchforks should be out for Bonner though. If he wants to go to Celtic Park every week he can pay for a season ticket out of his own pocket
  4. Except Aberdeen (I think!) won them all. Whereas Hibs got papped out despite trying to field a suspended player to help thier cause....
  5. As some others have said, it could well be Aberdeen. The comments around "have recruited well this summer" was exactly what happened last season and they subsequently had a shocker. They signed 2 centre backs who could conceivably have been considered international material, but they are now both (I think) consigned to sit with the dressing room toaster in the Pittodrie dustbin. Anyway, I'm a Hearts fan and whilst I have early season confidence, I'm expecting several months of "Robbie out"
  6. What do you mean, r.e. Spivs? Have the changes not been well received with City fans? (There we go, I've implicitly answered my own question!)
  7. That was pretty terrible. Come back Richard Gordon, all is forgiven!!! The VAR debate was tedious at best, contrived at worst. Although I thought that the quip about Willie Millar and VAR was top notch. Reminded me of the worst years of Jim Trayonr's phone ins, except the wallopers were in the studio. I don't mind Willie, but he should have been jottered last year for comparing a player walking on to the pitch (rather than running) to a Rastafarian/Bob Marley/Jamaican ( I can't remember the exact word). Needless to say, the guy was black, xenophobic pr!ck Willie.
  8. I like Atkinson going forward, but he needs to buck up his ideas in defence. I like both him and Sibbick, but I don't think they work side by side. TS appears to like to intercept (and then attack), whereas NA needs cover. Either the pair need to learn to cover for one another, or Robbie needs to shuffle the deck (e.g. Smith AR RWB, KR or CH at RCB, a DM specifically tasked covering TS/NA - Christ, we have enough!! ) Note, I think they're both good young players, but this personnel meshing lies at the door of the manager
  9. It has to be said, that Elgin City have done a remarkable whole lot of nothing since being admitted to the league. Even moreso than Peterhead
  10. 1. Rangers (but probably Celtic) 2. Celtic (see above) 3. Hearts 4. Dundee United 5. Aberdeen 6. Kilmarnock 7. Ross County 8. Hibs 9. Livingston 10. Motherwelll 11. St Johnstone 12. St Mirren Fairly confident on the bottom 6, but I could see any of 9-12 there going down
  11. Hope the ticket issue is sorted for Staggies fans - as others have noted, electronic tickets can be sent out via email or whatever. Anyway, despite my optimism for the coming season, I expect a tight match with hearts to edge it. A 3-1 that is deemed "unfair to the visitors" by all neutral observers
  12. Yes, I guess so. I think I appreciate that by being more all-encompassing, it recognises the importance of football within the wider culture in Scotland. Ach who am I kidding, it's just that having folk like Alan Cumming on it means that my partner has an interest in listening that they otherwise wouldn't
  13. Anyone go to the Stoke/Lockie testimonial? Difficult to judge as Stoke are useless. Talked to a car-load of them after the match and I've never met such a dejected group of fans. Having said that, I've no seen any Hibs fans yet this season Anyway - I thought we looked good and in control for the most part, and contrary to the comments r.e. the Crawley Town match, I thought Forrest did pretty well!
  14. Ironically posted by a person who's profile is based around the most English of sitcoms
  15. I'm going to throw my hat in and say that it's actually got better and more accessible to non football fans in the last 5-10 years. Also, living in England it's a good reminder of home (yawn, ab'dy says this) Anyway as this is my first post, I await getting flamed by all and sundry and getting accused of being an alt account for one of the hosts....
