  1. Midfield is the problem for me. Only one person in there that can retain possession and pass the ball.
  2. I know where your coming from but it’s down to finance. Inverness has a far bigger population and therefore fan base. County have their sugar daddy, Peterhead were mega sponsored by oil companies, some of whom have migrated to Cove, hence Peterhead’s struggles and Cove now heavily backed by said oil companies, although that will wain with the downturn in oil work. Elgin haven’t got these income streams. I think we are a well run club living within our means, frustrating as that is. Eventually County and Cove will find their level according to their fan base ie Div 1 & 2 same as Elgin’s.
  3. Can’t really argue with your post but our geographical position makes it really difficult to recruit from other parts of the country. Strong relationships with County, Aberdeen etc are a no brainer as again geographically this is our area, also wages being paid to decent LL and HL players makes recruitment difficult from there as other teams have found out.
  4. Anything other than 3 points and a Bonnyrigg win and it’s back to looking over our shoulder. Hearing we might have a few players struggling with injury.
  5. Team staying overnight in Kilmarnock so at least taking it seriously.
  6. Good luck to him. Wee bit older now, occasionally showed a bit of flair but very rarely made any impact on games. Playing with better players might help.
  7. Can’t believe he’s going to Montrose. You surely can find better. HL is his level.
  8. No chance Sutherland will be back fit at Championship level this season, more likely end up at Elgin on loan.
  9. Unfortunately at the moment he is only a 1 game in 10 player. Hopefully he becomes more consistent with age and experience.
  10. Another cracking post IDB and pretty spot on. With Elgin idle I also took in the game, biggest crowd I’ve seen at Balmoor for a while. I would say the day definitely required both teams to play the ball on the ground but really wishful thinking. Neither team and indeed most at this level and div 2 have the ability to do that, on grass anyway and just resort to the default position of launching the ball. Although Peterhead are poor there are definitely green shoots there, as for Clyde, I worry about them, overspending in previous years is catching up and with no ground and limited income streams they are on a slippery slope. At least I will be entertained by their fans posts in Div2 next year. Have missed them.
  11. Touch and go. Frosty just now. I’d take the money and run!
  12. Have to agree with the above posts. Pretty poor performance all round. We played the extra man up front but it left us looking light weight in midfield. We try to play football from the back but neither full back has the pace to go past anyone or the passing ability to play it forward! The new lad Main could be a handful if he is given the service and a good foil for Hester but for a big lad didn’t win much in the air. Taylor has bags of pace but as previously stated there was not much end product. At least he was getting to the bye line, something we have been needing a player to do for a while and hopefully the end product will improve. East Fife looked a bit light weight but some tidy footballers.
