  1. Fair play to the Bully Wee, I didn’t expect much from Elgin today but in fairness Clyde did the business before today- looked dead and buried at Christmas.
  2. Fair play to Bonnyrigg. Is there indications the new manager will ditch the hoof and humph it style of football for next season.
  3. Fair play to the Bully Wee. No guarantees until it’s over the line but I think you’ve done it. Stranraer look doomed.
  4. Ach Blues you’re doing what Albion Rovers did last year. A decent team who shouldn’t be at the bottom but you’re there for a reason. Very unlike Stranraer committees of the past who normally acted fast when in trouble but inexplicably giving Agnew an extension. Is there an option to get shot of him now an get some of the senior players to take over for the last game?
  5. Don’t even get into that mindset. It’s a heck of lot easier to stay in L2 than it is to get out of the LL. The fall in income the second season in the LL which Rovers are about to experience is drastic. The seeing new grounds novelty wears off very quickly, the LL organisation is a joke. C’mon Blues a couple of wins would probably be enough.
  6. Next step for Elgin after a ropey couple of seasons is surely to get into the promotion playoffs
  7. Massive weekend for the bottom 4 clubs. Clyde will probably need 5 wins to be sure of staying up as the last quarter of games can throw up some strange results especially from the teams preparing for promotion playoffs. It’s a tall order and it won’t be pretty. Bullyrigg basically kick everything above the grass - hoof it and hump it tactics. First goal will be crucial.
  8. Malky MacKay’s available. A football marriage made in heaven.
  9. Wasn’t at the game on Wednesday but by all accounts Rovers the happiest of the two teams with a point. Always had a soft spot for Cowden, Was sad when you boys dropped down and it was always going to happen that Rovers would follow suit, quite a few folk would be happy with that. Two great clubs with two great grounds. Here’s hoping both clubs can mount a promotion challenge soon.
  10. Wow! Reminds me of when Rovers appointed John Brogan whose masterplan of bringing Juniors into L2 quickly evaporated. Rovers couldn’t afford to get shot. A 2-0 defeat to Fortmartine meant he did the decent thing. You might be praying for the same thing after games 6 & 7.
  11. Is the Elgin manager still in post after the cup debacle. Pretty grim for Elgin who I think dodged a bullet last season. The fall in income going into year 2 of the HL would be pretty drastic I would assume.
  12. Brian Reid’s available. Could finish take you to LL no problem.
  13. Who is the Airdrie player who loses possession for the 3rd goal and just completely stops running?
  14. Sorry Bully Wee fans but this has 1-0 Spartans written all over it. Spartans brand of football is brutal to watch on what is a terrible astroturf- this will be enough I believe for them to have a very decent L2 debut season. Am I still sore at Rovers losing their League spot to this shower? Absolutely
  15. Absolutely sold the jerseys last week against Spartans and that was with captains armband on too
  16. Out of interest what is Spartans voting record like with the inclusion of Colt teams in the LL?
  17. The good thing about Sandy Clark is he had admitted that the play offs are likely which is realistic. Rovers fans and fans of other clubs tell us we have a good chance of winning them but the time for talking is over. The league table doesn’t lie and ironically we have a better team than last season we’ve been far too inconsistent.
  18. Rovers have to win to stand any chance of avoiding 10th spot while Elgin need to beat Bonnyrigg. Can’t see either happening.
  19. Ditto. 3 points for the Vers today and defeats for Elgin and Bonnyrigg means we are safe as both play each other next work. What’s the chances of those results happening? Tough game today , honestly thought EF were one of the worst teams in the league when they snatched the points in the early season encounter at Cliftonhill. But the last game at Cliftonhill I thought EF were a really solid team totally deserved their 1-0 win and since then have gone on to build a really good campaign. I’m happy to eat my words on that one lads. One last thing! £18 admission today. Ouch!
  20. Majority shareholder is Anton Fagan - son of infamous Rovers Chairman and local Delboy Tam Fagan. Anton is employed by the SFA as Development Officer and therefore cannot play and involved part in the club. He has been offered good money for his shares in the past but has refused.
  21. Sorry to hear this Big Ashy was on loan to Albion Rovers and helped the club to it’s first championship in 55 years in 1989. A lovely guy. Condolences to his family and friends.
