  1. I’m a wee bit surprised we are not there. Is it because it is pre Xmas and the genuine panic/fear amongst the younger fans hasn’t kicked in yet? Maybe. Kettlewell, I believe, has presided over a worse run than Malpas, McGhee, Robinson, Alexander (could be wrong here tbf), and Hammell ever did. Yet there is next to no blow back. I’m just confused. This current run has lasted for, give or take, one third of the entire season. A crazy run and ridiculous stat. County and St Johnstone binned their managers before they reached the Kettlewell stage. Now is the time for change as the transfer window is only three weeks away. The board are making a total f**k up of it all.
  2. Honest question here just looking for some differing perspectives? Has our support changed? Mellowed or just became apathetic? Are the fans more supportive? More understanding of limitations and budgets? I was thinking about the 2006-07 season when Malpas was manager. I remember near the end of the season (St Mirren at home……maybe) a good number of fans appearing at the Main Stand to make it known that Malpas’ time was up. Our worst run that season was a run of 7 without a win and there was a couple of draws in there. I’m just wondering why there hasn’t been the same response to Kettlewell? Appreciation of last season? Understanding of a difficult position. Have the support just got used to these runs now and are a LOT more accepting of them? Could be a bit of everything really but the Club better be careful they don’t lose that connection with lots of the fanbase. Everyone knows a number of people that have sacked going to the games altogether or just pick and choose a couple of games a season. These types of runs with a seemingly untouchable manager and undroppable goalie aren’t going to encourage attendance that’s for sure.
  3. A few things from that video. He knows he is not getting sacked. I think he has had assurances he will be in the post for a while. He thought we played St Mirren. Kelly is undroppable.
  4. Not sure of overall record but to put it in context Hammell’s run was 11 without a win in the league, a win against Stranraer and a loss to Raith in the Cup. We are arguably in a worse position now.
  5. No way he is being sacked now. It’ll be viewed as ‘fighting spirit’ and ‘togetherness’. A rare occasion where a Motherwell goal might not be the overall best thing for the Club.
  6. I’m delighted we have scored……….but that has prevented our manager being changed imo.
  7. I wonder when he genuinely realised it was gone? There is no way be would have thought he was getting to preside over a 13 game winless run where the majority were defeats. I started to worry after the 4-2 loss to Aberdeen. You could see what was happening that night. What was that game 6? There has been 7 games since then? Fatal car crash unfolding in slow motion.
  8. If he won the game I wouldn’t sack him. If that was the conditions of today he shouldn’t have been in the dugout at all. Ok, he shouldn’t have……but to sack him after finally breaking the run would be utterly bonkers and make us look even more of a crisis case. A defeat or a draw he 100% has to go. No excuses.
  9. Current ‘board’ members riddled with anxiety and anger as it look like they might actually have to make a decision and do something.
  10. If it finishes like this Kettlewell shouldn’t even get in the dressing room. No harm to the guy and I wish him no ill whatsoever but it’s pro sport and you live and die on your results. It’s his team, tactics and quite a few of his signings. He should be summoned straight to the boardroom and relieved of his duties at full time. To even suggest be is on the touchline against St Mirren next week is beyond mental.
  11. Live table currently sees us in 11th place but having played two games MORE than bottom placed Livi. Wonder if that will get the attention of the ‘decision makers’?
  12. He is the one continually picking a guy who is making major errors which are costing goals almost every game. Kettlewell doesn’t have the guts to drop him. If there is a post match inteview he is getting St Mirren which is utterly unbelievable at this stage.
  13. Comic stuff at the back. Kelly should have been dropped a wee while ago. A decision that Kettlewell is unable to make. The indecision on Kettlewell’s future is happening in slow motion. It had to happen after the County game. It absolutely has to happen by 6pm if we don’t win.
  14. Every confidence when they have the Final in their rearview they will bullet past us no worries. We need to hope Livi remain poor and we can try and stay in touch of St Johnstone and Ross County. I’d take 11th and a shot at Raith just now. I’m not saying we would win but it’s better than the automatic trap door.
  15. It’s 100% finished. He’ll never claw it back. We are just wasting time. Something that St Johnstone and Ross County never did. If we beat St Johnstone (ha) and draw with St Mirren (ha) then it just reads as 1 win in 14. There is no escaping the failure bar an extended winning run of four or five games which has absolutely next to no chance of happening. The club is a total bin fire and now that the BBC are openly pointing it out it might nudge us towards action on all fronts.
  16. Said it yesterday if there is a vacancy and he is an actual option get Neil Lennon in. Plenty of experience and if he does the job for us I could not care one jot about anything else. Every chance he knows there will be a more attractive vacancy up North soon enough and will just bide his time though.
  17. There isn’t a lot to be happy about. Off the field the Club is a bit of a riot. On the field it’s currently a shambles. In my opinion relegation is inevitable. It was nothing short of a miracle that we dodged it last season. I genuinely thought we would be ok this season as well. Dun Utd in the Championship was a bonus. I’d have preferred Thistle up instead of County but there you go. For me there were a few teams in the top flight in August with questionable management teams. Whilst the same could have been levied at us, the heroics of Feb-May led me to believe we’d be comfortably 7th/8th. The fall since early Sept has been quite startling and a bit unexpected in exactly how bad it has got. However, is this not our third (maybe fourth?) horrendous run of results this decade? I think Robinson, Alexander, Hammell and now Kettlewell have all presided over long winless streaks since 2020. They are also getting longer. That speaks volumes. How we have managed to avoid the drop is unbelievable and shows how bad some of the other Clubs have been. Livi and St Johnstone are our main competition for staying up this season. By Hogmanay we’ll know whether it’ll realistically be a fight or not. However, this is not just one bad season where we have been caught out. This is bad management on and off the park for a number of years as well as lots of very poor recruitment. If it’s NOT this season it’ll be the next or the one after. Relegation in the next three years is close to a certainty imo. We are surrounded by teams who, with a similar size fanbase are better run off the park with full time professionals and clearly have a better recruitment policy. The main worry is we fall into the same rut that Dunfermline, Falkirk, Accies even ICT have fallen into. Not necesarily falling down to League 1 but years in the Championship and that becoming recognised as our level. That’s a real possibility due to the finances we are playing with and no real ‘serious’ people in charge of the Club. The fact we have went 12 games without a win, the 12th game was the worst result of the lot and our manager looked like a ghost after the full time whistle and there has been nothing but silence leads me to think no one is really bothered at the Club. They accept what the future is likely to be as well.
  18. Always left a bad taste in my mouth with the Rangers appointment/playoff not long after we parted company. However, it all worked out for us I suppose. If we could get a sniff of the fitba and form we had in his early years, I’d take your hand off with it. He would be stunned at the quality he would be working with though.
  19. Just had a look at Hammell’s run, and unless I’m mistaken it was 11 in the league without a win. Seemed a very long time due to the World Cup break. We had a win against Arbroath in the Cup during this. Kettlewell has a run of 12 under him. That has stretched over three months and two international breaks. If he is in charge on Saturday then something else is going on. Very bad finances, management etc.
  20. Any manager getting the job is starting out in his career (no thanks) or already independently wealthy and fancies one last crack at it or trying to get back in after a couple of bad jobs. It’s a total support divider but I could see Neil Lennon getting it till the end of the season
  21. Madness. Decided he wants his season to be over by the looks of it.
  22. Post match interview has got to be a good six minutes of pushing players under the bus. One last mad roll of the dice.
  23. He must be an ‘influence’ in the dressing room as I can’t imagine not only keeping him in the team but as the Captain. Next manager needs to be quite strong.
