  1. When you are on a 12 game run of games without a win and the 12th game is the worst result of the lot……you jump. He won’t though as it’ll almost certainly bring an end to his top flight managerial career. He’ll pick up a gig at the very lower end of the Championship or top of League 1 but his involvement with us must end this week.
  2. I genuinely struggle to see where Kelly will end up next season. Captain? Unbelievable.
  3. Does anyone genuinely believe Derek Weir knows we are even playing tonight?
  4. I thought Kettlewell, regardless of results, would get tonight, St Johnstone and St Mirren. A decent gubbing tonight and he has to be sent packing in the morning. No choice. I’m just worried the nuggets in ‘charge’ of the Club think it’s common to make big changes in Feb and storm up the league.
  5. Anybody else think we are in an unconscious race with Aberdeen to get on the phone to Neil Lennon first? We don’t have the budget but we also don’t have a Cup Final to look forward to/worry about either.
  6. It’s bad when you miss the very start of a game and you are already one down. No idea what has happened.
  7. What’s kept Kettlewell in a job is the outstanding job he did last season and the fact we are still currently in 8th position. It is a flattering position as we have played more games than those around us. I also think Aberdeen are way ahead of us and will pull away once the Final has been dealt with. I’d also wager we are above what we have budgeted for so while the lack of wins will be a concern, I don’t think he is close to leaving let. He’ll get tonight (obviously), St Johnstone and St Mirren as a minimum imo. The minute we drop into the bottom two is when the higher ups will act. That could easily happen over the next two weeks. If I was a betting man I’d say someone else (Clarkson) temporarily in the dugout for Rangers/Livi and a new gaffer for next year. However, beat County tonight and get favourable results in the other two games mentioned above and he is going absolutely nowhere. I hope he turns it around.
  8. Anyone wondering about the impact of VAR on a game only needs to have been at this one today. You are never sure if your team has scored or conceded a goal. A fear or a hope that it will be chalked off minutes later always lingers now. When you have taken the best thing about the game, namely celebrating a goal, and effectively ruined it as more often than not there is a review you need to blindly sit though for three or four minutes after it, then the game is in trouble. The pure instant joy of a goal seems lost now.
  9. I agree with a lot of what you say. Whilst Dundee and Motherwell walked away with a point each today, the difference in mood between those fans left at the end would have been quite different. They threw it away big style and folk travelling North have every right to feel gutted. It will feel like a loss. We snatched an unexpected point from the jaws of defeat for the fourth time in recent memory and it feels a bit better than a draw due to us being utterly resigned to defeat. I’d say far less than half the home fans that were in the ground at the start of the game watched the unlikely comeback. That also speaks volumes especially when it hasn’t exactly been a rare occurrence of late. The fans are fed up. Yet another long winless streak to endure. These small ‘boosts’ are what has ultimately saved him…….or been a good excuse for those who need to step up to put it off. It’s the draws that drag you down. If you can turn a few into wins you can be comfortably out of danger. We are in bother no question. Relegation has felt like an inevitability for a few seasons. Last season was a miracle in respect to how late we made the change, who stepped in and what the results were. I think that may have bought Kettlewell a bit of loyalty from the higher ups as well. However, it’s a results business and he is failing. At this point badly. Kettlewell’s slump has started earlier in the season than Hammell’s. We should have more time to try and put it right. I don’t think we’ll pull off a last season great escape. A 10th place finish or 11th and a punt at, potentially, Raith could be best case scenario stuff. Is this it for the forseeable until we are in the top league with all the City sides and we just find ourselves as the out and out worst team one year? Possibly. No reason why we should be above it. Concerning times for sure.
  10. Pretty ‘spectacular’ comeback draws against County, St Johnstone, Celtic and now Dundee have papered over some pretty big cracks. On one hand you can say there is a fighting spirit in the team and we scrap to the end. The other side of the argument is we are defensively weak and all to easy, and quickly, fall behind in games. Even if County beat us on Tuesday, Kettlewell will take charge against St Johnstone next Sat. For me it’s over but who is calling the shots at the Club? Can they be arsed? Just seems like too much hassle for folk at this time of year. It arguably shouldn’t have gotten this far. After the St Mirren game is my prediction for a change. The next game after that is Rangers when we will be faced with a Clarkson/Foster dream team until a new guy is in for Livi and the window. No less than two wins out of the next three can save him.
  11. Pure egg on the face to the away end. Twist and shout to hearing a pin drop in seconds. Time wasting against ten men who were largely gash and throw it away. Criminal really. I’ll take it. However it just delays the inevitable. It’s gone for Kettlewell.
  12. Good for first 10-15 mins then rancid. Last week was a great result but it still wasn’t a win. When was the last league win? 3rd Sept? New guy will be in charge of January transfer window. Today could be 0 wins in 11. He’ll get County, St Johnstone and St Mirren to turn it around though as Club is utterly rudderless.
  13. Aye, it’s not great. Always clubs that carry a ‘smaller risk’ but it makes for a better atmosphere when away fans are in the South.
  14. Any decision will be taken very soon due to the away fans. I’d imagine the pitch is fine but surrounding areas could be the big problem. If the game goes ahead will the away fans be housed in the POD? Never a fan of that.
  15. 9-0-1 formation for Saturday and beat 3-0. Games a write off. Already focusing on Dundee.
  16. St Johnstone fucked that very badly. We are currently playing pure dug meat, they go two up quickly at home and still don’t win. A sore one especially when you have just one win in eleven. A result that was certainly out of the question for us at halftime. Thanks!
  17. Years from now we’ll talk about the ‘Well team that could only be arsed after they gave teams two of a start.
  18. When he starts scratching his nut in post match interviews we will know the end is nigh.
  19. Only took the first 45 mins for me to be convinced a new man will be in charge on 01/01/24 or that we will be ‘manager free’ on that date. No way will he be sacked early.
  20. Heard that the players are being fined a fiver every time they don’t sign a jersey etc. in the dressing room as many aren’t bothering their arse. Ending up in Xmas night out fund right enough. Imagine if this slump was just a mega huff due to that
  21. Hammell presided over a 14 game run without a win last season before we finally beat Arbroath in the Cup. Buckle in lads……..nine more games before the transfer window opens.
  22. A fucking omnishambles of a defensive performance and we are only half way through the first half.
