Is this due to fights at League Cup Final or just general pettiness between the Clubs?

Said it before and I’ll say it again, Van Veen is an absolute shithouse. It’s a thing of beauty.

I remember him saying something similar about Motherwell when we were having a poorer season in amongst the continuing good runs about 10 years ago. His point was if you weren’t up the top end of the league then instead of mid table mediocrity he fancied a wee shot at a relegation dogfight at the bottom as this would bring some excitement and the crowds to Fir Park as the season drew to a close. All very well until you consider if you are at that end of the table your Club is likely to be in some kind of ‘crisis mode’, you are likely to be watching utter dug meat on the park, you have no guarantees of staying up and if you do go down you could be in real bother of ending up like Falkirk. Madness!

Are the majority of the support behind a permanent Robson appointment?

As an ootsider to this issue, I still think it is wild that Jim Goodwin secured another top flight gig well before Aberdeen appointed his permanent replacement. Now though, again from the ootside, it’s pretty clear you stick with Barry Robson till the end of the season then make the big decision. It’s Neil Lennon isn’t it.

Probably…….but the vast majority of ‘well known’ and decent posters seem to have sacked SO a long time ago. Maybe it’s the impact of social media etc. having an effect on forums but having read a fair bit of SO, including lots of fair and balanced opinions from it’s early days to about 2014/15 when I stopped visiting it, it just seems now to be populated by a very small number of posters just lobbing childish insults at each other. I’d say with confidence a number of the ‘well known’ posters have either moved here under a different/similar name, transferred to twitter/facebook, or after being put off SO by a few overbearing posters, haven’t bothered picking up somewhere else.

Hadn’t really looked at SO in years so headed over for a scan on the back of this chat. Funny to see the same few names that put me off reading it a loooong time ago still chatting gash. Commitment to being insufferable or a total lack of awareness of being a gobshite/pain in the arse. Who knows. Some achievement mind.

He probably doesn’t get to talk much Scottish football in his normal work business. Off the Ball likely as much a hobby for him as a job, although ironically will prevent him from seeing St Johnstone as much as he’d like.

What’s the statistical magic number for 10th/safety? 37 points? With this team this season, I’ll breathe a bit of a sigh of relief when (if) we hit 38

I kinda agree with this. 0-0 or a 1-0 win for County wouldn’t have been the worst. A proper thumping to Utd could provoke big changes in both camps. Hopefully, it is more Utd have totally downed tools rather than County having sorted themselves out.

What a free kick and a fantastic point. Gut punch for Killie but there you go. Still tight at the bottom and I think we still need to be concerned with the battle below than what is happening above us. Ninth place would be a great finish imo considering how bad we have been. I’d also take 10th with a comfortable gap between us and 11th at this point as well.

The old classic of watching the St Johnstone results on TV whilst standing ootside an electrical shop when he stayed down South given an airing from Cosgrove there. An auld classic. Am I imagining it or was there a thing where someone used to hit the stopwatch at the start of the show to see how long it took for both St Johnstone and Motherwell to be mentioned? Mere seconds just about every time
